Upon walking in the ladies at the counter were polite but short and pointed me to the right direction for hair extensions. After 10 min of getting confused and wandering around I found a clerk in front of me asking what I was looking for, she was polite but direct. I explained exactly what I needed and she went to find it. For the next 30min I asked the clerks all manner of questions about clip-ins, sew-ins, wigs, braid hair, care products and they pointed me to the right isle or came to help me. Their knowledge was spot on. They seemed to warm up some, but they were following me around the store, whether or not they followed me because they didn't trust me or to be helpful, it's of no consequence. I didn't feel it to be threatening or racist. They were helpful but I would say weary. This might be why... Three days later I came back for more things after some research - while I was in the store a group of drunk and high women walked in, they were rabblerousing and very loud, they were so drunk the whole huge store smelled of them long after they left, their interactions were absolutely shocking and they were ridiculous! They then verbally accosted these 2 clerks and stormed out after not finding what they wanted. The driver of their car was drinking and so was everyone else in their car. It was a Tuesday, not even noon yet. I was upset, I think the clerks were a bit shocked too. I asked a lot of questions- my hunch was these women are weary because maybe they have bad customers frequently- unsure. I don't know why this allowed but I felt very bad for them. No idea how they protect themselves, but this isn't a terrible area on South Blvd. Charlotte didn't used to be this way. I don't blame the store staff for following customers, besides the place is huge and full of so much, it is helpful to have them available to show you where items are. To close, this store is vast and they have an extensive amount of hair supplies at fantastic prices! It's a real gem. I saw lots of jewelry and makeup here as well! I cannot wait to go back.

I asked a question about human hair, they pointed in the direction of the hair and seemed to be afraid to come from behind the counter, they acted annoyed and were rude. it's so frustrating to have these Asian people operating in black communities, they make it clear they do not like you; it's just disgusting. They just want our money. Not all Asians who work in black communities are like that, so I don't want to label them all as anti-black. One thing is for certain I will never go back to that place

They carry a wide range of industry standard products & equipment and have great monthly specials. I've been in other beauty supply stores & they don't have as much selection nor are they as clean. A week after this place opened, I took her down and she fell in love with the place. Not only did she find all of the Estee products she loves, she found a lot more that she wanted to try. If we did not live 20 miles away, she would be here daily. As it is, they have been open a month and she's been back 3 times and planning on going again tomorrow.

There was one customer in the store near the register area shopping but none of the employees in the store were assisting that customer. As I walked in with products in my hand explaining that I wanted to get a credit to purchase something different all three employees kinda stumbled as finally one of them stepped up and offered to help me. She led me to the register to begin my return but then told me it would be a minute as she would be checking out the customer who had been shopping with no employees helping her. Mind you there was another employee who also came up to the register desk but did not offer to help me. So I waited . After issuing the credit refund to the store gift card both of the employees went into the back room leaving me to shop with no assistance. I had to ask several times for one of the store employees standing at the front of the store to come and help me. By this time there were NO other customers in the store. I have to say I have never felt so ignored and unseen as I was the entire time I was shopping in this store. The staff had no interest in helping me and for me to have to ask over and over for someone to help me when there were no other customers in the store was just disappointing. I won't ever understand how four employees had to be asked to help a customer in a store that had no other customers. It was really frustrating. I am sorry I ever went there. I won't ever make that mistake again. No customer service.

This is THE PLACE to go if you are looking to replace your beauty products with those made from clean ingredients and natural fragrances. Everything they sell can be trusted to have none of the harmful chemicals that can harm your body. Aillea is located in the Park Road shopping center, next to Harris Teeter. They have a wide selection of brands including some of my favorites, such as RMS, Innersense, Rahua, Suntegrity, Plant Apothecary, Ilia, and so many more! I love being able to browse, try products, and test colors before purchasing, since I'm so used to just trying everything out online, and looking for pictures to see if colors will work on me. Their staff are very helpful, too, offering suggestions or assisting with picking the best colors. They offer events throughout the month to get facials or meet the product's makers. I definitely plan to attend some of these, and expect I'll be a regular at this store!

After over 20 years of dedicated support, I am officially done. I live with a chronic pain disease and rely on Lush bath products for physical relief. Because the only store in the Charlotte area is located in an incredibly pretentious, inaccessible mall that is a massive chore to get to, I have to rely on delivery. Lush's current reliance on DoorDash for same-day delivery is a disaster on two fronts: 1. Unreliability: My orders are consistently mishandled or stolen, and customer service acts like it's just "business as usual." They told me orders have been getting stolen from this store via DoorDash on a regular basis. 2. Ethical Hypocrisy: Lush claims to be an activist brand, yet they partner with DoorDash--a company whose leadership provides massive financial support to Donald Trump. For a brand that preaches social justice, this is a glaring, hypocritical betrayal of their stated values. I recently reached out to escalate these issues, and despite my 20-year history with the brand, they issued a refund and closed the ticket without a second thought. A refund doesn't provide the pain relief I needed, nor does it address the fact that their delivery model is ethically and logistically bankrupt. As a PR specialist who knows how brand reputation works, I am appalled by how far this company has fallen. If you value reliability, accessibility, or ethical consistency, look elsewhere. Lush is no longer the company they claim to be.
