I LOVE Kat Von D and well she only has her products at local Sephora stores which really is the only reason I come spend loads of money here.. Aside from some other makeup I like buying here every now and then. Kat's makeup tho is vegan and thereby cruelty free which I will spend extra dollar for. I just strolled in because one of my favorite things to do after laying in the sand is checking out make up/skincare products. And since there is no beach in the area, naturally I had to go to Sephora to find something for my skin. Initially I went in looking for a YSL product Sephora hadn't gotten yet, but Mario was very helpful in helping me find a product that would better suit my skin. I'm a picky person and Mario made sure I found what I was looking for. Also, Frenchie (I think she's the skincare specialist- both times I went, I was directed to her when consulting about skincare products) was helpful and cleared some things out. The consultant(?)/maybe manager(?) that rang me up was very chic with great customer service attitude. All in all, this location is a great stop to pick up make up/ skincare necessities. It's hard to miss, located on El Paseo in front of Starbucks. Free parking is just around the corner. read more

I think this Sephora shop is a great addition to the desert! I also think that the visits vary according to whom will help you find products! A couple of months ago I remember I went in to buy the Mia2, and I had to flag someone down in order to do that; she was unaware of what the package contained and I ended up buying an extra brush for sensitive skin even though it already came with the kit! I was so desperate for an out of stock product that wasnt in stores until a certain date. I thought I would call and ask. Daniel the guy that answered was so sweet he said they would be able to sell it just not hold so i raced over and got it! For this they get 5 stars they went above and beyond and were so accommodating such a sweet staff. I prefer everything in this store over the one in JC Penny, they have more staff so they pay more attention and they have way more stuff in stock. Always great service at this Sephora. read more

I love Sephora, but this is by far the worst Sephora I've ever shopped at. Not one single employee offered to help me while I was there. Multiple employees were too worried about the conversations they were having with each other rather than engaging with customers and that was extremely unsettling to me. I've never been into a Sephora where they could care less. To top off my overall expierence when I went up to the registers the cashier wasn't friendly at all and kind of gave me the impression she was talking bad about me to her coworker. She looked me up and down and continued her conversation with her coworker which wasnt work related and then asked me if I was ready. While she was ringing me up she charged me twice for something, which good thing I was paying close attention because I'd hate to waste even more of my time returning to this store. read more

On a mid morning Tuesday visit in May I found my experience here quite disappointing. I think they must change sales associates frequently as I never seem to see the same person there twice. I was looking for a new facial cleanser . I was not approached which is fine,but I decided to look for myself. The two female were talking to each other. I asked a male associate to help and he walked me over to one of the women to help. She could not have been less engaged !!!! I told her what I was looking for , the type of skin I had and the current brand I was using. I then asked her for a recommendation. She didn't really have a point of view but pointed to 3 products. When I asked her why she chose them for me, she proceeded to read the qualities off the box of each. I could have done that ! No looking at my skin, no questions, no enthusiasm. I usually love Sephora but this store manager needs to get their selling associate energized and understand that we are shopping there because they are experts who we desire to provide guidance when needed. We all know that e commerce is cutting into stores sales but it wouldn't happen as much if true service was still a focus in the remaining brick and mortars stores. Poor attitudes, lack of knowledge, and disinterest should be addressed quickly. read more

I went in on the 2nd, no one approached me as I wandered around. Finally I went up to two ladies, 1 of them the floor supervisor, and asked for help. She then called an associate to help me. At first the associate was helpful, but when I disagreed with the makeup choice, the next thing I know she just walked away and got behind the register. I went over to her and asked if she was going to help me, she was told that her supervisor needed her on the register, NOT A WORD TO ME, and that someone else would help me. That associate came over and then the floor super came over to her and directed her away from me. Look, if I don't like the way a product looks on me, that's ok. Not every person is going to like every product, and I was polite, and not familiar with some of the products asked questions. It is NOT ok to be treated with disdain and blatantly ignored. Will NEVER go back to this store, except to take back one of the products I purchased which apparently has an adverse effect on my skin. From now on, I will go to department stores. read more

Arrived 9/25/19 looking for some acne cream. I was never approached or welcomed for help. The skin care specialist, I assume, offered a "free facial" which was only a tool that removed oils and dead skin. I asked if she was sure about the free treatment and she mentioned how it was "totally free without a purchase" known as a "perk". As she finished the treatment she began to talk about how I now needed to spend $75.00 to get this facial for free when she not once mentioned a certain charge in fact she said it was a "perk" and free treatment with no purchase necessary. The manager later came out and said I had to spend $75 in order to qualify for a free treatment or I was going to be charged for the facial which was never stated to me in the beginning. The girls here are just very pushy and trap their customers into buying things. Ever time I come in I never get greeted and the girls all seem as if they are annoyed when I asked for samples. What else are samples for? Horrible customer service especially in a nice place like El Paseo, I will no longer be shopping at this location. read more

Went in yesterday with my mom and sister. Was greeted and put on a wait list since we needed assistance. Well the girl that comes over and says "How can I help you." My mom replies that she put her name on the waiting list. The lady replied "Well why do you think I'm here." That was the first sign that she was rude but it was so busy we didn't really have another choice. We asked her for recommendations on certain products and all she had to say was "Well I don't know it depends on what you're looking for." That was her response to EVERY question we had. She basically rushed us the whole time we were there. We had bearly finished getting one product before she was already trying to check us out. We left spending $400. We went in knowing we were going to spend more than that, but she didn't even give us time to think so we were in and out in literally 10 minutes. read more

Usually i look around to see how long it will take for someone to ask me if I need help. They don't walk up so I usually ask. I'm sure if I had blue eyes and blonde hair they would jump up in a heart beat. I came to this store on 7/25 (Tuesday) I originally was just going to walk in and get my free bday gift. When I entered the store I was greeted by multiple employees and then asked about the free 15 min makeover for your bday. I ended up doing the 45 min custom makeover. You just have to buy $50 worth of merch, which I needed anyways, so it worked out great! This was my first time getting my makeup done at this store and Miranda was the lovely associate that helped me feel fabulous on my bday! I showed her a pic of what I kinda wanted and she did just that and more! She even went over her time to make sure I was happy with it before I left! And all the employees complimented me as well and it was definitely a confident booster because I don't wear makeup often. I would recommend Miranda for your makeup needs. I'm a highly educated mild mannered attractive middle aged African American woman who recently relocated to Palm Desert. I am appalled and will not buy any products from Sephora until I receive an apology from senior management. After being in the store for over 25 minutes as I noticed that many other patrons were being assisted and I was ignore as I made eye contact with the employees on the floor and behind the register, my present was nonexistent. I was not Able to find any of the cosmetics that I wanted to purchase. So, I decided to ask to speak with the manager. To my surprise the manager was in my presence within reach and never acknowledge my presence. When I explained to him my situation, he was defensive and said that the staff was in training. One of my best experiences yet. I scheduled an appointment for prom with my friend. I was scheduled for 3 and her 4. I walked in 10 minutes before hand. It didn't take long before the manager a beautiful elegant older lady who looks like Cher asked if I needed assistance. When I mention I had an appointment she sat me right away and introduced me to a young makeup artist named ally. I had a reference picture to match the scheme of my dress. She then asked the type of skin I had and for my preferred finish in foundation and off she went. After five minutes of her walking around and grabbing items she returned cleaned her brushes and table in front of me. She then asked if I'd like lashes and went off again to grab some suitable options. When she came back she asked for one last look at the reference and she began to work. At first I was a bit skeptic because I'm very picky with my makeup. But as she went on I couldn't tell what was happening other than the ladies shopping and working complimenting her work. At four my friend walked in for her appointment and was seated in the chair across from me. She had a young blonde lady with a softer makeup look than ally's approach her and do her makeup. By the time my friend and I finished it was 4:45 and we had to get going. We bought what we liked thanked the girls and left. I find that the ladies chosen to do our makeup were hand selected to our preference in style and looks. The ladies at sephora are so kind high spirited and helpful to us and one another. I love Sephora, unfortunately the staff at the El Paseo location is the worst I've encountered. Most of the girls who work there are not nice, knowledgable, and just don't want to help. Beverly Hills and Century City staff are the best. Maybe they could train the Palm Desert staff. Friends who spend time in Palm desert just wait to get back to LA to shop at Sephora. read more

I went to Palm Springs to visit my family for Thanksgiving and had to make a run to Sephora because I forgot all of my makeup at home. This is a typical Sephora store, although it's a little bit smaller. What I did love about this place is the staff, which has made it the BEST Sephora that I have ever went to. The staff was so incredibly nice and helpful. They went out of their way to help me out, chit chat, and made it an awesome experience. read more

I went in there to get some backups of my favorites since I was going to run out of them pretty soon. As I was looking for my foundation, the Kat Von D Lock it foundation, a male employee approached me and asked if I needed help. I said yes because she had changed her packaging and the names a bit. I wasn't sure if I was the same shade. I asked him if he could match me and he ignored my question. He didn't really want to help me. So I asked him a couple questions about the product and he didn't really know what he was talking about. All he said was buy it, and see if it works, if not just return it... that to me just felt like he didn't care about helping me, and just wanted me out.
