I am from Atlanta and was in the area visiting for the holiday. I went to this Sephora location last Saturday and it was surprisingly packed and busy. While I was testing out Nars foundations, a young lady approached me. I believe her name was Chima. She immediately suggested a great foundation for my skin and offered to do a skin test to make sure I had the correct color. No one had ever done this test for me before, so I was very impressed and grateful. I went with the Lady Gaga brand and found a foundation that matched my skin perfectly thanks to Chima. I am a happy customer and had a great experience. I'm so glad she was able to assist me and give me great service and guidance. I wish I could return to this location for all my future make up needs, but unfortunately this is some ways away. Lol but if I'm ever in the area again, I'll be sure to stop by and make a purchase knowing I can trust the service and expertise at this location. read more

Went here a week or two ago and haven't gotten the experience out of my mind. This location is huge and great if you know exactly what you want and don't need help whatsoever matching or finding anything. The employees may ask you if you need help but they don't want to actually help in the slightest -they can't even fake like they do. When asked to help shade match an employee just stood there with a dirty look on her face because she actually had to do something after asking me if I need help? I left feeling judged just like other reviews say they did. I also visited without makeup on layered in warm clothes and it almost came off as no one wanted to help because I wasn't all done up even though I'm in my 20s and popular clientele. (I promise I was nice and just wanted basic help nothing crazy lol). It really is an awful feeling to leave somewhere feeling judged and unconfident especially when it's a place that should be all about beauty and building confidence. I've been here multiple times and every time I'm there the service is shockingly bad. The employees have an attitude problem and act as if you're an inconvenience to them. For example, I inquired about a sheet mask and the employee lazily pointed in the direction of them and just said, "they're over there". I was looking for a recommendation but she couldn't be bothered. On the contrary, in Italy, their staff went above and beyond and made excellent recommendations with a large language barrier between us. So it's not all of Sephora, but this one is bad. This review is so long overdue. Here goes: Location: This Sephora store is located in Village Pointe, a higher-end shopping area. It is similar to an open air mall but different because vehicles can drive directly through it. It isn't like those with a large main parking lot, and then walk up to all of the stores. (like Gretna's Outlet stores) Depending on what time of day you are visiting, you are more than likely going to have a difficult time finding a parking spot at all, let alone one nearby. Availability: Compared to the Sephora in JCPenney's stores, this actual Sephora store has EVERYTHING. At least, everything I was looking for, and far far more than I thought I needed. Also, you can look at Sephora's website or even their mobile app, and check availability. Enter 68118 for the zip code, and it will let you know if this store has it in stock. Price: Do some things come off as crazy expensive? Yes. Are some things completely worth it? YES. If you honestly think about how many times you've tried the newest mascara or eyeliner, claiming to be long lasting or waterproof or whatever, and ended up hating it, you'll realize that in the long run, you will be saving money if you buy a quality product here, instead of 4 or 5 different Wal-Mart items, and not really liking them anyway. Also, Sephora has a crazy good return policy that if you don't like something, used or not, bring it back. Depending on the length of time since you purchased it or if you have your receipt or not, you can get your money back or a store credit - even if you used the item! Don't take advantage of this, but do know that your purchase is not set in stone - they DO want you to love what you bought. Staff: This has been hit and miss with me. When the store is exceptionally busy and crowded, good luck finding anyone unless you're in line to check out. When they aren't so busy, you will get greeted with a "Hello, can I help you find something in particular or did you have any questions?" There are also mesh shopping baskets near the entrance that can be used to hold all of your selections. Yes, sometimes the staff get into repeat mode and it feels like they've asked you 142 times if you're still doing okay, etc. Just try to get past it. It happens. Now, for the second half of my review. This is what keeps me driving the 154 miles (one-way!!) to this store. His name is Anthony. He is an employee at this store. And this man....is magic. Now, I'm no beauty star, and certainly not a make-up expert. I came into this Sephora as a first-timer and knew nothing about pretty much ANY of the brands the Sephora carries. Anthony has been hilarious, kind, knowledgeable, and friendly. He will not put you down for not knowing, or asking questions. In fact, ask away because he knows what to show you or recommend so you, too, can create beautiful looks, also! After Anthony has done my makeup, I feel like I went from looking like a hot mess to daaaaaaaaamn, who that?! :) It looks beautiful, professional and well-thought. On one occasion, I went in, not having any preference at all. I let Anthony do his thing. He knows I have a thing against pink shades of lip color. Yet what was on my lips? A purple-y pink I never would've picked in a million years. Did I end up loving it? Yes, but not at first. Did other people love it? YES! My family and friends were blowing my Facebook up talking about how beautiful my makeup was. Anthony is worth the 154 mile drive there to see him, and then, the 154 miles back, I can't keep from smiling, as I glance every now and then, up into my rearview mirror, at whatever new look Anthony gave me that day. I had the worst experience at this Sephora. I'm from out of state, so I thought it might be worthwhile checking out what Sephora is like out of town. The greeters all greeted me but right away I realized they kept checking on me cause they thought I was stealing, which was extremely annoying and disrespectful. It's probably because I came in with DSW bag which I just came from cause it's across the street. My shoe box took up the entire bag space so I am not able to put anything in there unless I literally take out the whole box and made it super obvious. They made it extremely obvious by literally standing by and watching me and then popping up out of no where to "check how I was doing." Over the past 5 months I've received two 20 percent off coupons that have to be used exclusively at a stand alone Sephora. So I was forced to come here. I've never really had a good experience here most of the time the employees act like you are bothering them. Between both trips I stocked up on all my favorites and this place isn't cheap so I spent around 500 dollars. Imagine my surprise when I go to the Kolhs Sephora to buy a few things during the beauty insider sale and find out I'm still at the lowest tier-insider. So this Village Pointe location didn't do the transactions right and make sure the sale was credited to my account. And even one of the times the associate said my coupon had already been used and that she wouldn't apply it, which I would never try to double use coupons! My wife loves this place. So over the years, I've gotten to know what Sephora's all about -- cute, colorful and quality beauty products all day all long. Sometimes they offer great deals. Other times it's pricey as all get out. Loyal customers can even sign up for the rewards program and receive all kinds of freebie goodies in the mail. In Omaha, we'd only been to the Sephora's located in various JC Penny's. So the full-fledged Village Pointe location was kind of cool. They had a few Jem products (remember Jem!?! I walked into this location at village pointe with my aunt so that we could be color matched. The woman who matched me did a decent job and was "friendly". HOWEVER my aunt was not treated as well as I was. They applied makeup on her face with a TISSUE. They applied mine with a makeup brush. They didn't even put the color all over her face. The issue is my aunt was not as "dressed up" as I was and had a different body type. I strongly believe that they treated her differently because of her appearance and that is UNACCEPTABLE. read more

This Sephora store is really big. WAY bigger than the Sephora's at JC Penney's. Which means that their selection is pretty awesome. The guy's stuff that they have is pretty top-notch as well, Jack Black and Anthony are among a couple of their top brands. I have been to Sephora stores in other states so expected the same level of great service. I was very disappointed. I had to explain what I needed to greeter and then repeat it to a sales rep. She directed me to the products without putting them on me, just handed them to me. I asked her opinion and she said just pick what you like. I asked if she had an opinion and she said no. I asked the cashier if that was how they operate at this store and she said without an appointment the reps won't put the product on you because it is too busy. I really love Sephora. They have high end products and while they may be pricey, they work. I like the rewards program and the various samples that we are able to try. No other store compares with Sephora's quality. I am perfectly fine with that and will invest in whatever I need. But I HATE this location. They workers are so rude. If I come in dressed in professional attire, hair freshly done and all made up, someone MIGHT be helpful But if one of the components aren't present (say like I am wearing jeans), forget it. Even though this store literally carries everything (as another poster said), it is not worth the experience of dealing with people who are so high and mighty. I am actually surprised because this is generally not how Omaha operates. Typically shopping in Omaha is a pleasant experience especially in retail. I spend a ton of money here every year so I was really disappointed with the lack of customer service at this location. & the fact that this is apparently completely normal. I'm a VIB Rouge & went in to spend a good chunk of money but all the employees were too busy standing in a circle chatting it up. The air conditioning was broken but my husband & I still walked around for at least 20 minutes without so much as a hello. I checked out & told the girl I was planning to spend a lot more & drive all the way from a local military base to go here. But she honestly kinda shrugged despite being nice. After we got to the car I looked at my receipt & saw she didn't even give me the discount I came in to use. I was practically in tears. WHY do you suck me in with your brightly lit counters full of prettily packaged cosmetics? ...WHY do the little pots of powders and creams and lotions and potions beckon me to purchase? ....WHY can I not resist spending the equivalent of a mortgage payment on lip balms, stains and sticks when I only have one set of lips? Like a kid in a candy store, it's a cosmetics paradise guaranteed to take your mind off of those pesky errands as you flit from display to display, wasting away hours of your Saturday. Friendly service, although the some of the staff are more knowledgeable about the products (and techniques) than others. Clean, well organized, and brightly lit, you can try before you buy - but beware of the lighting - it's not equivalent to natural, outdoor lighting, so you may need to step outside with a mirror from time to time. Really expected a lot more here! I came in looking for liquid lipstick, and after a little while of perusing and casual glances to see if I could get a worker's attention, I finally gave up. The staff was too busy having their own conversations amongst themselves and could not be leas attentive to the needs of their customers. After being forced to go get help myself, the girl who was "helping" me seemed to not care less about the fact that I was trying to find something I liked. Personally, I thought she gave off the vibe of "You wear makeup? Seriously?? You?" I tried to keep myself oriented and polite while working with her, but I almost immediately just wanted to turn around right there and leave. And none of the girls I reached out to seemed to know the slightest bit about makeup, which seems odd, given they work at Sephora. Very disappointed with my experience here. This Sephora is located in an outdoor mall so with the doors open to the outside it make the shopping experience even better. I really liked this Sephora because it was a large one and the layout was great. I never felt crowded in between aisles of make-up like I do at some Sephoras making me want to hurry up and get it. I was in Omaha for the weekend alone. I popped over to this shopping center to kill some time. It's a nice location, very cute and trendy looking. I had been wanting a certain high end foundation, but my local Sephora was always out of my shade. I was surprised to find that no one greeted me when I walked it. The store didn't seem that busy, in fact I saw more employees than customers. Without knowing the layout of the store, I had to walk around to find the brand I was looking for. Again, no one stopped to ask me if I needed help. But as I was walking around I heard two employees talking, they were looking for a customer whose make up looked really nice. They looked directly at me then kept scanning the room. They were no more than 2 feet from me and still didn't greet me. I had been traveling all morning, so my make up was light. I often find Sephora employees won't help you unless you look like you're actually going to spend a lot of money. I eventually found what I was looking for, grabbed my shade and walked to the counter where the employee seemed more occupied with talking to the employee standing next to her, but never the less, still attempted to be friendly. As a 46 year old woman with 15 year old twin daughters, all of us having painfully opposing ideas as to what looks good and what doesn't, the help of a professional can be invaluable. Enter Josh, the most beautiful olive skinned man at Sephora. His best advertisement is his own face...absolute perfection. Twin one had recently ridiculed twin 2 that her face resembled that of an orange. (Sadly, I agreed with this "orange" statement, but was unable to suggest a change. Mom's know NOTHING!) Josh wiped the tangerine tinge from her flesh and he proceeded to artistically create the fresh, flesh colored face we had all been longing to see. The steps were many, but the result was amazing. He advised of the importance of each step, clearly instructed on proper application, and advised us on which products were best (not just most expensive) for her skin type. No, we did not buy each and every product used, but we did leave with enough product to come pretty close to the no longer orange faced girl we originally came in with (plus a little free sample of the primer.)
