I'M OBSESSED (5 stars) I've been to several Sephora locations and think I like this location best. The ones at the malls are always packed, long lines, and products can be out of stock. This location, easy to park, other shops around and have what I need. When you get old.er, skincare is prime! Moisturize moisturize moisturize. Keep the skin as plump, firm, and moisture as possible. Everybody's skin is different and it takes awhile to find what works best for you. They have so many brands to choose from - it's like walking into a candy shop but for your face and beauty. Everyone's different and they do best to serve all skin types. Due to a motorcycle accident I have "new skin" and I also have "scarred skin yet repaired by years of laser treatments" so taking care of my skin is very important. Yes, I have the good good stuff not sold at retail stores but at a doctors office but I also love coming here for my face retail therapy... TATCHA is my good stuff and I have a lot of their products. Although TATCHA brands its image around Japanese skincare, yes it is, but their HQ is in San Francisco. My home city going to get some recognition! Overall amazing product. TATCHA THE ESSENCE - after every shower or after I microcurrent and redlight my face, I like to apply this to my face and neck area. TATCHA SILK SUNSCREEN - loves this! It has minerals in it and those are the best kind busy usually mineral sunscreen leaves a streaky white film. Not this one. Blends amazing, light on the skin, protects well, and easy to apply makeup over. TATCHA BRIGHTENING EYE CREAM - little goes a long way. It does brighten the eye area, provides moisture, and makes you look more awake but it doesn't depuff. TATCHA SILK PEONY - I love how this glides on under the eye. It's light and provides good moisture under the eyes. TATCHA WATER CREAM - this is a lighter moisturizer and I love how it feels when applying, it has a nice "wet" but "cool" feeling - like water! My skin's dryness depends on many factors and I use this one when it's not as dry outside. TATCHA DEWY SKIN CREAM - LOVE this one. Many people are going to either be for Water Cream OR Dewy Skin Cream - I cannot select one and use them BOTH. Again, depending on many factors (day, season, time, dryness). It's a little thicker and heavier but the way it gives my face a nice dewy look without looking sweaty or greasy. TATCHA CAMELLIA CLEANSING OIL - I recently started using this and starting to like it more as I use it more. Washing my face with this gets off makeup or residual dirt on my skin. It's extra oily but it really clears off anything on the skin. TATCHA RICE WASH SOFT CREAM - this texture is like lotion/cream and applies well with a little bit of splashed water on the skin. It does gently clean the surface of the skin but I don't know if it cleans deep into the pore. TATSHA RICE WASH POLOSH DEEP POWDER - this is a powder where you add a little bit of water in your hands and gently rub into your skin. It acts as an exfoliating until the powder dissolves and then becomes a very faint soapy foam. I really like this product for cleaning deep into the pores. TATCHA SILK POWDER - recently have this and yet used but it's setting powder for makeup. I barely wear makeup on my skin (only my eyes and lips), have yet but will put this to use when the time arises. Will be back for more TATCHA refills and new purchases. read more

SEPHORA @ LA JOLLA VILLAGE I usually come to the Whole Foods in La Jolla Village, and Sephora is located right next to it. It's not really in a traditional shopping plaza or mall, so I feel like this location doesn't get quite as much foot traffic as some of the other Sephora locations I've been to. The store itself is also a lot smaller than other Sephora locations, but I actually didn't mind it. The staff greeted me when I walked in and everyone was really friendly and helpful. They had a good selection of products, and I especially love checking out the makeup sections for brands like Fenty Beauty by Rihanna and Haus Labs by Lady Gaga. I think the location actually works pretty well because it's right in La Jolla Village and close to UC San Diego, so there are always plenty of students and locals around who can easily stop by. Parking is also convenient since you can use the La Jolla Village shopping center parking lot, although it can definitely get busy on weekends, especially with everyone coming in to shop at Whole Foods. Overall, it's definitely a smaller Sephora compared to others, but I like how convenient the location is and the staff made my visit a good experience! read more

Came for my birthday present and ended up spending time and money getting some facial care products. Service was pretty quick and detailed. They asked me my skin type and gave their opinions. Ended up walking away with two additional items. It was a good amount of people inside when I came on a Saturday afternoon around 3pm but it wasn't packed. Parking lot was full because of the amount of businesses in the shopping centre. I imagine coming during downtimes would be much more of an enjoyable experience than going during peak hours. read more

For the most part, this Sephora has been a joy to come to. Everyone is quite courteous and helpful. However, the last encounter that I had, I didn't have service to show my app barcode for pickup and after standing at the register for a couple of minutes, I didn't want to prolong the process. I asked if she could just look up my account under my name and my ID, to which she scoffed and said "Okay, make sure to show your barcode next time!" I mean, I wouldn't mind it but if there's no service, what am I supposed to do? She seems frustrated already from initially approaching her, so honestly, I wish I could've chosen to not have, but she was the only one at the register so... read more

Sephora has an amazing selection of makeup and skincare brands with so many options to choose from. The store is well organized, making it easy to browse, and all of the employees were friendly and helpful. I really appreciate that they provide makeup remover and tools so you can properly test products before purchasing. Their rewards program is also a great perk and offers awesome free products. Always a great shopping experience. read more

I swung by this Sephora to check out Merit's line of blushes, and was very happy with the service my friend and I received. I unfortunately did not catch the worker's name, but a woman with killer blush was super knowledgable and walked me through the different blushes and helped me narrow down which to purchase. I ended up going with the one she recommended (in the shade Cheeky, IYKYK), and am happy with my purchase. A different worker helped color match my friend and was able to personalize her recommendation based on my friend's skincare concerns. There was no pressure to purchase, and I appreciated that I learned some new tips and facts about blush! read more

I've popped into this Sephora a few times because I work in the area and will rush in to grab something I need real quick. I love that I can ask for help finding a product and get rung out right there and be on my way. read more

Got my makeup done by Janine and she did such a fantastic job! I'm going to a wedding later on and have little makeup experience. When explaining what I want she was very patient and understood the vision! While doing the makeup not only was she informative about the products but also gave helpful information as to her process. She was extremely communicative and amenable every step. read more

Objectively the worst experience I have ever had at a Sephora location in the 16 years I've been shopping here. I don't know if I will ever give this company my business because of the horrible employee that refused to help me today. Everyone else in the store was great and then I reached the check out counter and had the worst experience possible, I ended up leaving my items and walking out. read more

Janine B. Makeup artist extraordinaire! Thank you for your talent and heart. What a wonderful afternoon.....spent time with my 20 year old and we walked out confident, beautiful and transformed! read more

The best Sephora in the San Diego area! This location is spacious, well-maintained, and never feels overcrowded. All the products, including the samples, are clean, organized, and fully stocked--nothing missing or damaged like at other stores. The staff is incredible--helpful, friendly, and welcoming. I felt completely at ease shopping here and plan to return, even though it's farther from me than other locations, because of the outstanding experience! read more

Let me start by saying, I am not easy to impress and not the most patient person. However! I am extremely happy with my experience at this location with Savannah. I don't have much experience with makeup and she was able to match my colors with just a few swatches. I am very picky and she was patient while I decided which color I liked. She made me laugh and had great conversation. Check out was a breeze with her as well. I will only be coming to this location from now on and hope to see her again! Great job read more

I was genuinely excited to shop at this well-stocked Sephora, but the experience was incredibly disappointing. Despite the number of employees on the floor, most were standing around chatting and completely ignoring customers. When I asked for help with exchanging a concealer, I was brushed off and left to figure it out on my own. Not a single associate offered assistance--or even a bag for my items. After trying to get the attention of multiple employees with no success, I ended up putting everything back and walking out. Unfortunately, I won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone I know. Honorable mention: it smelled terrible read more

The customer service here is horrible. Every Sephora I've been too had great service. This one was the exception. I bought a body cream, and loved it and then a couple months later bought another container as I liked it. I started to develop an allergic reaction, so was hoping to return the unopened 2nd container. The person at the register let me know that I can't return or receive store credit as it's past the time period. I accepted this and said nicely that they new return policy makes it more challenging for people to purchase with comfort. His response was that he "just works here part time and doesn't make the policies." As if I don't know that he didn't make the policy? All that was needed was for him to say "I understand and can relay the information to corporate." I get that I can't return the item, that's not the issue. The issue is the attitude of "not my problem, I just work here part time." That is not an example of decent customer service. It's bad customer service hiding behind corporate policies. Talked to the manager and the manager said she will relay feedback to corporate, so her words were appropriate but it was still said with attitude. Sorry Sephora, I love your customer service, but not this time. read more

It's really nice that they opened a Sephora that's not in a mall. Easy access to go in and out without having to walk through an entire mall to get to one store. I just needed to pick up an Urban Decay setting spray since I was out. It was easy to find and check out was a breeze. read more

LeAnna helped me pick more products for curly hair. Diamond also assisted. Both salesgirls are so helpful!! I had to exchange the make up that I got yesterday for a darker color and they were both awesome!! read more

I really like this Sephora, no one pushing to sell you anything you don't want. Very friendly and attentive and, of course, full of goodies as a good Sephora should be. However, I was a bit disappointed of not finding the brand Shiseido for makeup. I was looking for a particular lipstick and I had to buy it online. Everyone I interacted at the store was very professional and attentive. I asked for samples and I got plenty, thanks so much, I adore the little treats that actually make us to get hooked to whatever is new in beauty products. read more

Grace did my makeup and it was amazing. She was super nice also. Will be making another appointment soon.

The cashier super rude. Long time i didnt go shop in sephora i thought i still have Rouge level but she talked to me so impolite.

This Sephora location just opened up by me and I'm in love! A big thing for me is how convenient it is because there have been times where I've needed to stop by Sephora but I didn't want to deal with parking at UTC and walking through the mall, so this location is perfect for a quick trip! The store looks small from the outside but it's pretty big and spans pretty far back. The staff here are so nice and helpful, Elizabeth was especially helpful with finding the perfect perfume that aligned with what I was looking for. There are plenty of staff in the store and they are always walking around looking to help and asking if you're finding everything okay. This is really nice considering they are trying to be proactive about keeping samples clean especially in a makeup store where you just want to try on everything. They also control the capacity of the store which was really nice too. The store itself is very clean and tidy. I will definitely be stopping by this location more often for all of my makeup needs. I definitely recommend coming here! read more

Analidia from this location is amazing! Tuesday I had a crisis because I had a Photoshoot where I had crazy red makeup on and I had to meet with family for lunch right after. I didn't have time to go home and wash my face nor did I have face wipes. I went into Sephora and asked them what I should use to get all of the red makeup off my face, Analidia immediately gave me these little make up remover pads to help me and also recommended that I get this make up remover towel (which works amazing) and she let me wash my face in the Sephora. If it wasn't for her I would have went to lunch looking like a crazy person. Thank you Analidia !! Haha read more

Amazing location! I love that it's not inside the mall. The staff is so so helpful. My go to Sephora in San Diego

Grrr I'm so annoyed!! I just went to this Sephora to get help picking out a new foundation. 2 employees were standing by the door. I was not greeted or asked if I needed any help. The too cool for school salespeople were too busy talking to each other to even look up. Literally 2 employees doing nothing and one maybe stocking but shouldn't customers come first. There was only one other shopper in the store and she was being helped. It was a rainy day and I would have spent $$ there. I'll just order from Macy's online and never shop Sephora again read more

Beware of people who look like sephora employees but are not. I was ready to pick out the conditioner of my choice until I was approached by someone who was dressed in all black. I assumed they worked for Sephora and convinced me to buy a product that they were there to promote. After getting home I looked up the product and found it was not what I wanted. Returning the product I found that I was unable to use the 20% off because I already used it. read more

I'm so torn because I love this store. They are always fully stocked and clean however this is the second time Alexa rejected to help me. First time, I asked about a skin tint & she replied back saying "you wouldn't want that" if I'm asking for it don't you think I would want to buy it??? Second, I saw she was ringing up a customer by the entrance. I waited until she was done to ask her if she could ring me up she replied back saying "I pulled them from the line" didn't give me an explanation or just simply say "hey they will help you at the register" I go to the line. I'm waiting on line for my turn, the girl at the register asked "are you paying with card" I replied by saying yes. She said "one of the girls can help you check out infront of the store. That made me so upset. I told her "I'm not going to that girl because she rejected me and I do not want to be rejected again" I'm very displeased with Alexa and her customer service. She seems to be very helpful towards people that do not look like her but not towards someone that the same colored skin. read more

I brought my nieces here after we had a beach day in La Jolla. They got to play with the Gucci samples and do full face makeup. Of course I made them spray alcohol and wipe before applying the sample applicators to the lipsticks, blush, contour sticks, and eyeshadow. Not a lot of people are aware of this stuff that is necessary for hygiene, and safety. Sephora staff was encouraging and kind to them, they're 7 and 8 years old. I came here with my friend and her 3 year old as well as my other friend. We got to smell a couple of the perfumes I wanted. You know stuff that goes viral, but it didn't smell amazing to me. I like floral scents and sweet nature spicy smells, but I haven't found more of what I wanted because I have a lot already. The staff were nice. We spent 2 hours here. Usually I buy a lot of things, but the line was so long, it was extremely crowded and hard to carry a convo so we ended up leaving, but that's not on Sephora for carrying bomb products. I appreciate the staff! read more

Pros: this location is nice and big. The aisles are spaced out and things don't feel cramped. Cons: This location really needs to work on their customer service. I was looking at the perfumes and a girl approached me and asked if I needed any help. I said no I was just looking for a perfume secret Santa gift $20 and under and she rudely goes "oh I don't know if you're going to find that"... funny because I ended up getting a Joe Malone discovery perfume gift set for guess what, $20. There was also two other options for guess what, $20. There was also roller ball fragrances $25-30. How hard would it have been for Ms. attitude to say something along the lines of "we have plenty of discovery/ travel size/ roller ball fragrances in that price range and a few dollars higher." I don't know if she was having a bad day or what not, but there's no need to be rude, especially in customer service. It's the holiday season, maybe put down your pretentious, snotty attitude and realize that not everyone is spending $200 on a secret Santa gift. Will I come back to this location? No thank you. It's unfortunate because this location is much more convenient than UTC mall location. I think this is also why I stopped shopping at Sephora, too many snot nosed college students with major attitudes. read more

K.C. Vargas at the UTC Sephora is AMAZING! This was my 1st time buying quality makeup so I had a lot of questions. She was knowledgeable and knew exactly what products would serve my needs. She was hands on and taught me how to apply the product, explained the differences in products she was showing me, and had a very genuine and positive vibe and attitude. I walked in unsure and lost about where to start and what to get. But K.C. Vargas guided me through the process and made my experience seem less and amazing. read more

I went in this store while visiting San Diego to get some makeup for my daughter. The store was out of the foundation she wanted and she really needed some makeup , in my retail experience in that case offer another comparable brand but the sales girl was not helpful. I accidentally tried some makeup on my hand I thought my daughter would like since obviously no one was going to help. I was IMMEDIATELY shamed by an employee for trying it on my hand. I completely forgot about COVID-19 rules. I was so embarrassed and so was my daughter she turned red and almost wanted to cry! It literally looked like a male security guard was behind her too. I mean I have been in a lot of Sephora store's in the U.S. and have NEVER been treated like this. Sorry I forgot the rules for a second but I had a mask and have been completely vaccinated! Horrible customer service. read more

OMG had the best experience here with a sweet girl named Jamie. She had such a great, calming energy and was so genuine with her recommendations! I went there today. They helped me find what I was looking for. There was a male employee who said bye to me in the store, he was very nice. If I wanted to punch in my phone number and touch the pad everybody else touches, I would have done so. I thought that was funny, but good service over all. read more
