Customer service sucks. No acknowledgment, no offers to help. It's a small store. There were 3 workers. All chatting. Again, no help. No acknowledgement. When I asked a question they said they didn't have it and said they had a gift set we can make ourselves and pointed to the corner. I went to look, no instructions or explanation on how it worked. Very disappointed by L'Occitane USA ! Awful customer service !!! I have used these products for 25 years, buying them directly in stores in France, and I had always been satisfied until now. But, as I am not going back this year, I decided to try ordering here and I placed my first order, for almost $100. Not only my parcel took 16 days to arrive, when they tell you between 7 and 10 days, but there was not one sample in the package, when they promise you two samples with each order. When I called, then wrote an e-mail to tell them my disappointment, they just repeated "you had to request the samples, they are not sent automatically"... Sorry, but I did not see a line saying that and I think it's very petty and cheap not to send the samples with every order. In the stores in France, they always give you at least two samples, and sometimes three. I will never order from Loccitane again because of their awful customer service and pettiness. read more

I was greeted upon arrival and was told about some of the products. I love the smell of the almond oil and it lasted me years. I've also used their Verbena body lotion and also some hand lotions, which are nice. I wasn't planning to come here, but as I was walking by I decided to buy a birthday gift here. I ended up buying the almond oil and some hand lotion. The staff were so nice and helpful and told me about a $20 travel set (special offer for $45 purchase), so I got a little something for myself. I drive 20-25 minutes JUST to go to this L'Occitane store. The girls, Amy especially (manager), are so sweet and helpful. They're very knowledgeable in each of the lines. I'm always asking tons of questions comparing one to the other. I always learn so much when I go here. I use the Immortelle line. My favorites are the Brightening Cleansing Foam and Immortelle Essential Water especially. The foam is like silk going on. It's wonderful! The Essential water takes off any make-up the soap may have missed and leaves my skin feeling really nourished. The prices are very comparable. read more

I wanted to give a huge shout out to this location! I rarely review retail locations. This location deserves a much-needed review. Upon walking and I was immediately offered water. The staff really outdid herself. There was one woman working and she really took care of every single customer. She educated me on all sorts of scents. I was looking for a gift for my sister. We picked out several items that she carefully gift wrapped. She told me about another special. After wrapping and putting my purchase together she also handed me a nice gift sample. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!! You know why most dermatologists make loads of money? Other than flaring acne issues with teens, and treating cancerous growths in the skin, many skin issues arise from not moisturizing enough. Got ezcema, dermatitis, rashes, itchiness, nasty pus exuding from your pores? Slap on some lotion and creams on your body twice-daily to prevent it from happening. It will do wonders, and your skin will be so supple it will be as necessary as brushing your teeth! All this can easily be accomplished with drug-store brands such as Nivea creme and Acquaphor for spot treatments. However, the problem is these are both non-scented. And sometimes, I want to smell nice without my scent being so owerpowering that I cause myself and others to sneeze every few seconds..*coughBathandBodyWorkscough* The products at L'Occitane smell fragrantly delightful without irritating my sensitive nose. I love their honey&lemon, rose, and cherry blossom lines. It doesn't smell cheap or tacky, it smells very fragrant much like parfum. They are fabulous! Their handcreams also work wonders for chapped dry hands. The customer service here at the La Jolla store is impeccable. They're really nice, helpful, and give wonderful suggestions. I came into L'Occitane with a gift card to spend, and having never been inside a L'Occitane before, I asked a sales associate for a recommendation. I was breaking out at the time and was interested in a moisturizer that wouldn't make me break out, and honestly, I probably would have bought anything she recommended right then and there. Instead, though, she said she felt uncomfortable suggesting a product without my testing it first, so she gave me some samples of different products, and told me to try them out and return when I've found something I like. I thought it was very professional and very smart -- nothing like securing loyalty instead of trying to make a quick sale! I found something I like and want to return to the UTC location to make the purchase. I was even at Fashion Valley the other day & skipped over so I could pay my business to her store! The lady working there seemed to be knowledgeable about the different hand creams the store offered. She told me which were most moisturizing to least moisturizing. I ended up buying a nice rose cream. I was a bit off-put though because I told her I love scents and that I didn't like the original hand cream, and she put the original as my sample in my bag. I just ended up throwing away the sample, but would've loved a sample I could use. Also, I don't understand the reviews below. I wasn't offered any drinks or services the previous reviewers noted that make this a 5 star store. It is a French-based skin care line and the shop in UTC has a warm atmosphere and friendly staff. The line tries to capture the South of France in its beauty products and indulging in variaous lotions, oils, and gels from L'Occitane en Provence would be a relaxing experience, but I'm not crazy about the line. The ingredients are natural -- the products are made from olive oil, honey, and chamomile, but I thought the bath gel and perfume had an unappealing sent. The shop is elegant and the costumers tend to be mature (the kiddies stick to their bath and body works.) So if L'Occitane isn't your thing, the shop is a great place to get a gift for mom or grandma. read more

I preface by stating that I hate perfume and cologne, especially the ones people can usually buy at malls (Victoria Secret, yuck; Bath and Body Works, yuck; people's smells in Abercrombie, vomit). The Manager on Duty was Horrible! I will never buy these products just based on my encounter with this employee. Actually that is not true, as the products may be great - I will just NEVER shop in this store again based on this employee. Be warned, upper management - I hope you are aware of this employee and do something about it. This woman made a point to come around the counter (I was speaking to a nice guy there) and very RUDELY and LOUDLY let me know this was from 2 years ago and was a free gift with purchase. I honestly felt like I was in pretty woman - the scene where they do NOT want you to shop there and they clearly think you are beneath them. I told her how much I din't like the smell and I didn't even want it - and she again RUDELY told me how they are the top selling in the company. She had no interest in hearing me or even saying so sorry we can't do anything for you today. Please look around - or try this scent.... nothing. She was actually acting like she was offended with me. Maybe she was having a terrible day but it was so shocking that I wanted to write this. My friend was with me and couldn't believe it either. Customer service.... maybe she needs a refresher, or perhaps a new job where she doesn't need to work with people. (I shopped on Sunday April 3rd at 5pm if you want to look up who was working.) My girlfriend and I came in here to look for some baby balm as a gift to a new mother - you know, that stuff to put on your tummy to prevent stretch marks during pregnancy. I was surprised to find that all their products use natural ingredients, so it's all baby-safe, but they also have a line specifically for mothers and baby. My girlfriend also picked up a few items, and I got talked into buying some aftershave. The girl that was working was extraordinarily nice, so I can say without question that service was wonderful. It was friends and family recently and I jumped at the opportunity to stock up on staples for myself and stocking stuffers for my GFs! They have a body oil that is honey/citrus scented which I really like; it's available in a 100mL bottle which is too large for travel but is a great gift for someone who likes massages and/or likes to put a little bit of oil into their baths now that the weather is cold (that means dry, dry skin). The scent isn't very girly so it's good as gifts to my GFs with hubbies or boyfriends. For myself I got the lavender bubble bath. Only two caps is necessary to really fill the entire oversized tub with suds. I love their lavender soap.. that's the only soap I have been using for YEARS now.. I really enjoy this location because they are not on your back from the minute you step into the store.. She greeted us.. and she totally left us alone until we were ready purchase.. LOVE IT.. She allowed me to update my personal information that they have in their system.. and now I'll be able to enjoy more lavender yumminess.. Only thing is.. I'm used to getting my bag filled with little testers.. at leasts that's what they did in the Rancho Cucamonga location.. I looked into my bag.. no testers.. I was a little sad. But no worries.. I just went this place and had a very unpleasant experience. This is nothing to do with the product, it's about a customer service. A young lady was very nice when I walked in, took her time to explain to me about their specials. I was buying gifts, so I was comparing from 3 small package set to that 150ml full sized one. And there was another lady (older, short hair), she was organizing those products right in front of me, so I asked her about it. And somehow she couldn't hear me correctly, she cuts me right off in mid-sentence gave me a wrong answer, so I said that's not my question and I was trying to continue the question, then all I see is very frowning face. She didn't even look at me (she never looked at me from the beginning) and unlike normal sales person, she didn't even offer to help. At that moment, I was the only one at the store, with three sales people. Even though she answered me a question finally, all I felt was, what is her problem? I didn't expect her to be obsequious, but why the frowning face? Her attitude was absolutely unprofessional, displease, and nasty. Until today, I thought highly of L'Occitane company. Despite of irritation, I ended up buying the gifts because that first young lady was super nice. However, I won't go back to this store again. I have other choices. If L'Occitane ever care for customer satisfaction, here's one of very unhappy customer from this UTC H-6 store. Please train that lady how to be a proper sales person. I didn't catch the name of the woman who took care of my friend and I today, but she gave us excellent care. I bought IMMORTELLE DIVINE EYE BALM €67,before reading carefully product description as I have sensitive eyes and it's doesn't say that it's not suitable for sensitive eyes,after applying cream I have sore eyes ,redness and watery eyes,I contact to L'occitane costumer service and they said that they can replace for some another product,I sent back that bloody cream two weeks ago and in post office when I was sending back,they told that to send it back will take maximum 5 days,now two weeks are gone but they keep saying that they still didn't receive anything! I understand that I just waist my money and I'll never get back anything from them! This place is going to make me BROKE! I'm a big fan of everything in this store. I've tried the shampoo and conditioner (my favs), the bar soap, the hand cream, and the rose perfume. It is not the store or the employees I'm having trouble with; it's the website. I tried to check my balance on a gift card and the site wasn't functioning at all. It wouldn't let me create an account first, and once I did a different way it didn't recognize my email address. Needless to say, I am very frustrated with their website. I think I'll just go to their store and try to get cash back for this gift card. Hopefully they consider making their website easier to navigate, or just work. Buying at the last minute , she give me a box with products which I didn't want to , because all box were similar she was in a hurry to close the store and give me a different gift box of products. When I was back from my trip to return the wrong product , she didn't want to accept the return . She said I bought it with a promotion so I could have to return back everything I have and those were not returnable. The L'Occitane products have far exceeded my expectations! Someone actually told me, unsolicited, that I have a youthful glow to my skin! Even when I WAS a youth, I never had a glow. Now I am hearing compliments about my skin at least twice a week - ever since using the Immortale line. Nothing has ever worked for me this well, and I really have awful skin.
