Master Vic Teran is very good with kids and make sures they have a great experience. He really knows how to motivate, inspire and rally the class to their goals and produce results. He really cares about the kids and their lives. They love him and respect him a lot (my son said last week that after # 1 mom and #2 dad, he loves #3 Master Vic in the whole wide world!). I have personally observed all the kids make immense progress with respect to their personalities. The kids, their parents and Master Vic have become a closely knit family and I am very proud to be a part of this family. We recently celebrated 4 birthdays together over the past 2 months and the kids and parents had a lot of fun! Personally, my son started showing a lot of confidence, focus, energy and has started to develop a very healthy attitude in a short span of 3 months. Mr Vic also infuses a lot of cardio exercises and strength training for the kids into the regimen. My 4 year old has increased his stamina and endurance, has grown taller! and his eating habits have also improved greatly. We recently did two 1.5 hour hikes on the weekend which he completed with ease. I have to say that this school is probably the best Taekwondo school in New Jersey!

We took both of our girls, one a very shy and reluctant 6 year old and our youngest and most rambunctious almost 4 year old to begin their Taekwondo tutelage under Mr. Teran. Needless to say, our oldest has certainly come out of her shell and surprised us all. This school is not just any ordinary Taekwondo studio, this is more like family. Each and every child is acknowledged, respected and given the opportunity to be their best self. Not only does he care about their progress in Taekwondo but he also makes sure to check their academic progress in school and reinforce the importance of education and discipline. I can't say enough good things about this place but more than kind words, what my kids have learned speaks for itself.

I signed up for a "free" 6-week challenge that had been advertised on Facebook. I chose the…read moremembership option ($270 upfront, $180 after the challenge) versus paying $599 upfront for the challenge. I chose the membership option because I was hopeful my work would allow me to actively make time for the gym. Unfortunately, I just wasn't able to complete it do to some changes in my work schedule. Let me just say the workouts, coaches, and people are very friendly. The 6-week challenge meal plan is limited, making it incredibly hard to follow. This comes from someone who is pretty easy-going about meal options and has done low-card, calorie counting, Keto, and a few other meal lifestyles successfully. There's apparently a new meal prep guide with a larger option for foods, but it came out after I started so I don't know much about it. They don't have a copier, so I took a photo of the contract, which is neither here nor there, but more a friendly note to snap a photo or you won't have something to refer back to. They do require you to sign a photo release to join, which really isn't something I was interested in doing, but had already signed up before being told about the release. You're also required to friend the owners, Sol and Amy, on social media and follow the gym. (Funny enough, my EFT just processed for the current month, my last, and I noticed one already unfriended me. I guess that means we can't be friends if my membership during/after my notice. ‍) It's alright. I wasn't thrilled by the idea anyway. Friending them does allow membership in a secret group of other members and one of other challengers. I can't fairly review the gym or the workouts other than saying I would have at least continued to complete the challenge had work not interfered. It is a great workout. You go at your own pace (kind of). Coaches are eager to help (and encouraging) so you don't feel like the new kid. I enjoyed it! My biggest frustration regarding the challenge specifically is there isn't really a good option to just try the challenge. Being asked to pay $600 for a "free" campaign is a lot of money to try something out. When opting for the more price efficient option you're locked into more than 6 weeks because of the misleading 30 day policy unless you cancel after your very first foundations class. The policy states: "Once payment is received on an EFT membership there are no refunds under any circumstances. 30 day written notice is required to cancel an EFT membership. Any payments that fall within that 30 days must be satisfied." MOST IMPORTANTLY: Unless you give notice on the 1st day of the month in a 31 day month, you will be paying for more than 30 days after giving notice. If notice is given on the 2nd or any time after, you'll be billed for the remainder of the current month and then your 30 days. Again, there is no way out of getting locked into a second month automatically when trying the challenge. In my case, I gave written notice just over two weeks after starting, but I paid for an additional month was still due. All in all, I paid $460 for 14 days of foundations classes and 5 days of actual workouts.

By the time I found Soloman I was a mess. Loss of strength, limited mobility and range of motion and daily pain. Not to mention the fear of injuring myself even more. He worked with me for a long time to help regain my mobility and range of motion then we started on strength, it was a special day when he told me we didn't need one-on-one anymore and I could attend the group classes. I still require modification for most everything but he never fails to kick my butt and push me beyond my fears. I love this guy!
