It's always blazing hot inside at all times of year. Makes working out extremely uncomfortable. They also only have 3 fans available in the entire facility. 2. The music is so bad. It's like a mix of oldies and soft rock. Nobody wants to work out to that. 3. There has not been a single time that I have asked a staff member a question when they actually knew the answer. It is the most infuriating thing to hear "I don't know" to every little question that you have. PLEASE train your people better or hire individuals that actually care to learn how to do their jobs.

This review is for the Northfield location. Cleanliness - 1 star. The bathrooms are always either dirty with shaving stubble or straight gunk. Soap dispenser was broken today. The choice to have hand dryers that blow air rather than supply paper towels is nasty. Hand dryers suck in air and the particles floating around in it then blast all that back out. A 2018 U of Connecticut/Quinnipiac study found that bathroom hand dryers blow a mix of bacteria including FECAL matter - that's poop - back onto freshly washed hands. Equipment - 1 star. This place is always packed to the gills because it's tiny. Equipment is limited and I don't even attempt a full workout anymore because I don't want to be waiting around all night to get to the weights/machines/space I need. Value - 1 star. Anytime Northfield delivers on being a gym accesible 24 hours a day all year round. Whether equipment is available or clean is another story. Staff - 4 stars. Generally friendly and helpful.

Chris the manager and Cindy who I always see in the morning are always super helpful and friendly and I have had great interactions with everyone. If I could say one thing that would be negative is that I had recently renewed my membership for one year, however my wife was transferred to CA for work and so I had to cancel. They charged me a cancellation fee which I would understand if I didn't really have a good reason, however this is a situation I can't really control. My name is Jeffrey S. Bowerman, and I have been a dedicated member of your gym, frequently working out with my wife, Debbie Bowerman. The incident leading to this ban occurred in February 2026 and involved a staff member named Cindy. At the time, I was dealing with significant personal and health challenges, including a broken foot and multiple hospitalizations, as well as serious illnesses affecting my brothers. During an interaction regarding the recovery and tanning beds, there was a misunderstanding about my membership level and the use of the mobile app. While I admit I became frustrated, I immediately apologized to Cindy and explained the personal stress I was under. Unfortunately, when I asked to speak with Chris, he upheld the decision to revoke my membership across all locations without, to my knowledge, reviewing any video footage of the interaction. My wife and I valued our time at Chuze Fitness, as it was a vital part of our routine and wellbeing. Being restricted to the local recreation center has been a poor substitute for the facilities and community at your gym. I took the opportunity to explore another gym and I learned a lesson in what isn't good in the fitness business. 24-Hour Fitness allows me to pay for a year at a time, the associate took care to explain all costs up front, and what you see is what you get. The other gym I went to told me I would could pay for a basic $15/month membership up front for a year ($180) and the associate filled all the paperwork out for me. When the contract came by email I found they put me on a month-to-month contract, tacked on a hidden fee of $79 (not mentioned by the associate at all), and jacked the monthly rate up to $17.98 because I used a credit card. I'm so glad to be back at 24-Hour Fitness, and the new remodel is really great!
