I was advised there were no available appointments in Virginia Beach, that I'd have to go to the S. Chesapeake office (half hour away). I needed to take the late morning off from work since my day begins at 6a and ends at 5p (take off 8:15-10:30). The CT office informed me that I could not exercise, eat, or have any caffeine; no big deal, even though I wake up daily around 3am and hit the gym. Basically, no coffee, ok--easily done. I was told the earliest they had was at 9:15. I left my house in VB at 8:30, arrived early (9:05) and filled out the paperwork in less than 5 minutes. Several people came in after me, but were all seen before me, probably because they only had X-rays and did not need a CT scan? No problem. However, I heard two people in front of me say they had a 10:00 appointment (so, why do they go first? I had a 9:15?). Anyway, I patiently waited ten more minutes, and no one said anything to me. I watched as they cycled patients through the waiting room like an ER, except for me. By 10:15, I finally got up and asked, "What's taking so long. I've been here for an hour." Ten minutes later, I was told that since the office is connected to an Urgent Care, they have first priority for the equipment, and I would need to wait longer. They had no idea how long it might be? Really? As in all day? Hours? Not being able to continue to wait since I had an 11:00 work appointment (which I missed because of their incompetence). Thankfully, I was refunded and forced to schedule another appointment. But, I did miss out on a half day's work! Warning: do not got to the Hanbury MRI Ct Diagnostics if you need a CT or MRI, even if they give you an appointment, it's first come, first serve.

After a delay with setting up my appointment everything was very smooth on scheduling. The day of the appointment everything was smooth on check in for my scan. The staff was caring, friendly and kept me comfortable. The testing area was clean. I was given a disk of my scan upon checkout. I would recommend Chesapeake Regional Imaging for an open MRI.

Located behind the Chesapeake Medical Regional Center Hospital. Signage is excellent for the building. They have a surface lot that seems adequate. Be mindful of physician parking, there are signs. The lot was tidy. In the front they have a covered pull through for drop off. Appointments were handled in a timely fashion. Specialist are well known for taking months, maybe I was lucky in securing a date in two weeks. They utilize electronic reminders on email and text. The lobby walk in clean as I entered. However, it is noticeably dated. The elevator operated and I took it to the second floor. The doctors waiting room had adequate seating and was tidy. Check-in efficient and wait short to first see nurse than Dr. Snider. Great exam and the doctors bed side manner fantastic! Both visits were consistently great on efficiency. In my experience, working for many years in healthcare, that's pretty darn STAT. I was in at the requested time of 8:10 for an 8:40 am scan. They had a young man performing Covid screenings at the entrance and I was immediately checked in and taken back not 5 minutes later. I was out the door before my appointment time. I've never been registered and scanned in less than 20 minutes for anything, ever! I was completely impressed. I have been here previously for walk-in (ie. first come, first served) lab work and there was a bit of a wait at lunch time, which I expected. The registrar who took my info and got me checked in was polite, friendly and efficient. I highly recommend this Sentara location for diagnostics!
