I had a fantastic experience with the scheduling department. Lisa was very eager to get my issues resolved. I was having difficulty getting my mri and ct scheduled for some unknown reason. Lisa was extremely helpful calling me several times and making sure I was able to get scheduled. Lisa was such a breath of fresh air, someone who actually does their job effectively and efficiently. read more

I sat on hold for 40 minutes. The intro says how kind their receptionist are supposed to be and how "high quality" the service is. I get a grumpy lady who barks the order isn't ready and to call back then hangs up. Please work on shortening your hold times, if that's how every call is answered there is no way it take 40 mins to get through the call list. And please work on training your receptionists to answer with kindness. They are the face of your business and I will be looking elsewhere for an MRI if this is the initial experience I had. read more

Horrible experience. My PCP scheduled me a CT Calcium scan (an in and out procedure). Yet, it took two months to finally get the appointment. I was advised there were no available appointments in Virginia Beach, that I'd have to go to the S. Chesapeake office (half hour away). I needed to take the late morning off from work since my day begins at 6a and ends at 5p (take off 8:15-10:30). The CT office informed me that I could not exercise, eat, or have any caffeine; no big deal, even though I wake up daily around 3am and hit the gym. Basically, no coffee, ok--easily done. I was told the earliest they had was at 9:15. I left my house in VB at 8:30, arrived early (9:05) and filled out the paperwork in less than 5 minutes. Several people came in after me, but were all seen before me, probably because they only had X-rays and did not need a CT scan? No problem. However, I heard two people in front of me say they had a 10:00 appointment (so, why do they go first? I had a 9:15?). Anyway, I patiently waited ten more minutes, and no one said anything to me. I watched as they cycled patients through the waiting room like an ER, except for me. By 10:15, I finally got up and asked, "What's taking so long. I've been here for an hour." Ten minutes later, I was told that since the office is connected to an Urgent Care, they have first priority for the equipment, and I would need to wait longer. They had no idea how long it might be? Really? As in all day? Hours? Not being able to continue to wait since I had an 11:00 work appointment (which I missed because of their incompetence). Thankfully, I was refunded and forced to schedule another appointment. But, I did miss out on a half day's work! Warning: do not got to the Hanbury MRI Ct Diagnostics if you need a CT or MRI, even if they give you an appointment, it's first come, first serve. read more

I had an MRI today at the Kingsborough sq location. I have had MRIs before and I can say this was the best experience ever! The person at check in was very efficient and answered all my questions. The team who did the MRI-Anthony, Randolph & Elizabeth-were very attentive and thoughtful. By the time I walked out to leave, they had a CD with the results ready for me and I didn't even ask for it. I highly recommend this location! read more

I was scheduled for an MRI at the Greenbriar facility. I confirmed the appointment earlier in the day. When I arrived at the site it was closed with no note or number to call. I tried to call, was on hold for 30 minutes. Finally gave up and called the next morning at 8:30. Once again was put on hold and waited for 45 minutes and finally gave up. At the least this company should have the ability for someone to leave a message. Due to their poor service and lack of communication my doctor will not have the information needed for the upcoming visit. I will not use their services or recommend this company to anyone seeking a diagnostic test. read more

They simply do not call you back. I am not allowed to have a phone at my work and have to call back to make an appointment. They simply NEVER answer their phone. It goes to voicemail and no one calls you back. I keep trying for weeks to get hold of them and they don't call back. read more

I've heard the bad reviews and negative experiences from people I know but my experience was good. From getting scheduled quickly, answered calls, friendly receptionist, I did wait awhile before being seen but the findings from my mri came quickly and were very thorough. It was clean and had a safe place for my belongings while I had the mri done. read more

I received a call for an MRI the same day the request went in and they set up an appointment for 14 days later. The staff was very courteous and the pricing is good. I think that's an important point. They charge far less than the hospitals. My only ding is that there was no reminder call/text message before the procedure. But I'd prefer going to them and saving a lot of money, than paying the extra money for additional bells and whistles. read more

I come in at 8:10 AM to have my MRI done. I get there and the lady tells me that I was supposed to be there at 8:40 PM. This place is not right . The lady on the front desk told me that they call me. I tried to disagree with her, and I told her that no one had call me. I have to reschedule my appointment and go to the same process again. What a joke. read more

When you need a MRI, or CT this company has been a good choice over the years. But this location in Chesapeake I feel is weaker than my previous visits in Virginia Beach. The process of a prescription from my doctor to MRI-CT was smooth and a call within a few days to schedule. This location was chosen due to the availability of a open MRI. A nice female staffer called to do the pre screen. These are easy over the phone questions about medical history. It takes about 10 minutes. The location is directly behind the Greenbrier Mall to the North. The building and sign are very visible. The lot was tidy and plenty of parking. Check-in was immediate and photo ID with insurance card are scanned in. A few signatures and review of pre screen questions. Check closely, one of the items was incorrect. My appointment was for 9 AM, I arrived 850. I was told running on time. The waiting area was pretty full. One of the couches had the nastiest big stains I've ever seen in public. As a matter of fact it looked wet like someone had urinated on it. I alerted the front desk staff. After waiting another 35 minutes prior to being taken back I saw no one come out to inspect. A young woman came out and got me. She walked me to a room where all items are locked up. Instructions are to remove everything medal and items from your pocket and shoes. Clothes remain on. No other instructions. The room was clean. After locking it up I waited by the door for around 10 minutes not knowing if I missed where to go. Finally, a man walked me back to the diagnostic room which had an open MRI. The tech was excellent and made me feel comfortable with knees up and ear protection for the noise. If you've never had a MRI then know this, you need ear protection. I was told testing would be 30 min, it was probably 20 since I was still. If you move in the tube the series must be repeated. So stay still! I checked out with a CD to take to my primary. If you loose the free one, or need a duplicate they are $30. You will need to sign a form that you received it. I cannot comfortably give a 4 to this location. A 3.5 and rounding down. They got the job done and where it counts in the room they were great! Recommend, but still prefer the VB Pembroke location over Chesapeake. read more

If you are in pain, and your doctor needs an MRI to make a diagnosis and plan treatment, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! This place is a logistical nightmare. Your doctor will give you one of their fliers that says you will receive a call from the scheduling department within 2 business days. Don't believe it. You will not get a call EVER! When I had not received a call after THREE business days, I called them (because I was in pain). Nobody answered the phone and my call went to voicemail. Don't leave a voice message. Nobody will call you back. I kept calling until someone FINALLY answered the phone. When I asked about making an appointment for an MRI, I was told my doctor had not sent the order yet and to wait a couple more days. So, I waited a couple more days and called again, and again, and again, until someone answered. I was told that my doctor STILL had not sent over the order. So, I called my doctor, and was told they sent the order right after my visit with the doctor. I called MRI-CT for a THIRD time and FINALLY got someone who told me that, yes indeed, they had received my order on the date my doctor sent it, more than a week prior! Unfortunately, I was told, they had to schedule my appointment TWO WEEKS out to wait for insurance authorization. So, I called my insurance company and asked them to expedite authorization because I WAS IN PAIN. My insurance company told me they had not received the request for authorization from MRI-CT. Their little flier tells you to go to www.mri-ct.com/patientregistration and complete pre-screening questions prior to your appointment. Guess what? Correct...there IS NO www.mri-ct.com/patientregistration site. Of COURSE there isn't! It has now been THREE WEEKS since MRI-CT received the order and I have been in pain the whole time. It's plain cruelty, not only that they don't care about patients in pain, but that the patient has to be in the middle of their shoddy administration practices and waste time being a conduit among doctor, MRI-CT, and insurance in order to get the diagnostic test you need. They state on their flier that, "Our goal is to provide you and your physician with the best medical imaging experience and detailed radiology reports at the lowest cost in the area." My experience has been the worst possible. From all appearances they compensate for the "lowest cost in the area" by hiring the most poorly trained staff. I'll happily pay more so I can get my diagnostic MRI and get on with my treatment to relieve this pain! read more

The are very courteous and helpful. Last time I was there I was not feeling well. The young lady at the desk noticed and was very kind and helpful. She made sure I had water, she checked on me multiple times and when done she escorted me to my car and waited to make sure I was okay. The folks that performed my scan were very professional and very kind. My only complaint is you cannot pay you bill online, and then you get a nasty letter from them demanding payment. If you can do these complicated medical scans you can figure out how to do online payments. read more

Had the worse experience ever today at this location. Yes they offer late hrs for those who work which is great but once I was done with my MRI I found myself locked up at this location in their lobby. They give your CD say bye there's the door which heads out to the lobby but after 9pm lobby front door is closed locked meaning I can't get out to my car. I knocked on every door and windows. screamed hello ma'am sir and no one came. called my husband and he couldn't believe it. He was on his way to help and call 911 for help as this was ridiculous and so uncalled for. All doors had codes so I was unable to reach an emergency exit. I was able to unlock some other doors to finally make my way out the building a little after 10pm. I will never ever use this company again or recommend them to anyone. I know they are tired and want to leave but you need to escort your patients out the building. Any other person could have had a panic attack and destroyed the building trying to get out. Very poor care for patients during evening hrs. Don't even offer evening hrs. I can't imagine a person with special needs having to deal with this. read more

This place is horrible. My doctors faxed them everything multiple times and they kept saying they didn't receive it. Fine, whatever. Then they said they would call my doctor to see what's going on. I gave them their number and to "my surprise" they never called them. They fake their efforts in trying to help you. This has been one of the most difficult experiences in my life. I wish my healthcare would allow me to change where to get my MRI done. Just horrible. Update: Let me clarify. The FRONT DESK is the culprit. The lab technicians are wonderful. Super nice and careful. The front desk experience I dealt with prior to my appointment made me very wary. read more

I hadn't been here before, but I had heard from some coworkers that scans were drastically different here. They were right. I brought my son in for an MRI, and he was so nervous. My tech, Jen, went over everything with him and put him at ease. On top of our great experience, the office had our appointment scheduled in a timely manner and the cost was waaaaayyyy cheaper than any other place we called. 10/10 would recommend. read more

Been here several times for various X-rays and MRI. Friendly staff that has the paperwork drill down cold. Schedulers are always eager to assist in finding the right time to fit busy schedules. Works well with my doctor and the reports are quickly completed. read more

MRI & CT Greenbrier - Reception area. - Diagnostic Imaging Near Me - Chesapeake, Virginia

The customer service needs a lot of work. Getting someone to answer the phone is a complete nightmare and they either don't listen to voicemails or simply don't return calls. My husband's orthopaedic doctor sent orders for an MRI to be scheduled and after waiting 25 days for a call, I finally called them and was given a lot of excuses as to why we never received a call. I have been calling for a solid week to get documents I need to file with my insurance company and again, no one ever answers the phone or returns my calls. If I can help it, we will NEVER use this practice again. read more

I have been going to this place for 10 years. The copay at Sentara was $2,000 vs $150 here. The staff was professional, friendly and efficient. I was in and out in less than an hour. The quality of the services is spot on. I'm a medical professional and I'd rather pay for my MRI instead of paying for Sentara's new construction!! read more

Go someplace else to avoid wasting your time and receiving mistreatment from the incompetent staff. Scheduling an appointment was unnecessarily difficult because you can only leave messages when you call the office. Upon arrival, the receptionist kept me waiting for approximately 45 minutes then informed me that she "forgot I was there" even though there was nobody else in the waiting room. This place is in dire need of staff who care about patient service. Management has zero tolerance for constructive patient feedback. Both the office manager and her supervisor were very condescending and dismissive of my concerns. I shared my experience with the doctor's office who referred me and learned a member from their staff has also received poor service here. My doctor's office was very apologetic of my negative experience and immediately referred me to a new, quality facility that delivers excellent patient care. read more

I a CT scan done here. The staff, from the front office to the CT Tech was very helpful, kind and quick.

This facility is part of the Veterans Community Care Program. Called to set up an appointment over 2 days. Could not get a person on the phone. Only get voice mail. None of my voicemails were ever returned. I called a 3rd day and finally had a very rude woman answer the phone. When I told her why I called (to set up and appointment) her nasty attitude reply was "we have been busy and unable to answer the phones and emails" REALLY? SORRY YOU ACTUALLY HAVE TO DO YOUR JOB. This place is a joke. Do not use them, Do not try to call them. The lady that finally did answer the appointment phone should be FIRED ON THE SPOT. She is the most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with !!!! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE !!!!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS PLACE !!! read more

Specialized practice is no excuse for such blatant disregard for patients' time. I brought my mother for an appointment on a Saturday evening. She was instructed to arrive at 6:45 for a 7:15 appointment. At 8 PM, she was told she would be seen in 15 minutes. At 9:20 -- 2 hours and 5 minutes after her scheduled time -- she was called back. Other reviewers have commented on the facility's cleanliness and the kind staff; it's tough to praise such basic practices when the operation's core services are delivered so unprofessionally. read more

We're been coming here for awhile and have never had a problem. It's 15 mi from home but if we go to a hospital it's $275 as opposed to $180-185 here. Before scheduling, I got a price quote of about $160. The night before appointment, they left a voicemail confirming I would owe $164 for my testing. When I showed up, they said I owed close to $800 and refused to budge, even when I played the voicemail they left me. I called 5 times over the next two weeks to try to talk to the manager, but she won't return my phone calls. I can't believe a medical office this blatantly dishonest is allowed to remain open. read more

I went here for an MRI and got a little lost on the way due to the parking lot layout. The receptionist was warm and my appointment had been confirmed and I'd been reminded several times before my arrival date. My records and referral were all processed and I paid my co-pay, then waited less than 5 minutes to be seen. A nurse took me back to a private changing room, where I left my personal items and waited to be taken to the room. The o ly weird thing about that was I was told to stand in the doorway when I was ready to go for the MRI-a different experience than I was used to (there was evidently nowhere else to wait so they could see I was ready). The nurses and tech were very pleasant, polite, made sure I was comfortable, answered my questions and were patient with me. No issues at all during the MRI, and afterwards 8 went back to change. When I left they handed me a CD with my MRI results - they don't send them to my doctor(?!?). So I'll have to wait until I see my orthopaedist next month to get the results. After I changed back into my clothes the nurse met me with the CD/DVD and walked me back to the waiting room. I was in and out in 45 minutes! The 4-star rating is for not sending my results to my ortho directly. read more

Lousy service. My wife's back is out and the Doc gave a referral for an MRI. She has been calling and leaving messages for the last week. MRI&CT Diagnostics haven't returned the calls. For a week. My wife is in acute pain yet can't get relief until the MRI. read more

I opted to go to MRI and CT diagnostics rather than Sentara Hospital. Bad decision! The staff wouldn't return my phone calls & I called 3 times after my appointment was made to change my it. When I didn't get a return call, I rearranged my schedule and showed up for the appointment which was still on the books. They had given me the wrong time for my appointment but did not inform me of that so after I had waited for 53 minutes without a single word they told me it would be 15 minutes more. I committed on the lack of return phone calls at that point and pointed out the lack of communication considering I have been waiting so long. The CEO was unwilling to talk to me and his assistant was unwilling to do anything about wasting my entire afternoon meanwhile I never got the MRI as I had to be somewhere. This place is unprofessional and I would not waste my time. read more

Find somewhere else to go. We have been attempting to get an appointment scheduled for almost a month and cannot get a call back. When we do get someone on the phone, they are rude and rush us off the phone. This location needs to train their staff. I heard their staff YELLING at my husband 2 rooms away while he was trying to get someone to schedule his appointment. We are still waiting. I've never experienced this level of rudeness and unprofessionalism in my lifetime (age = 55+). Unacceptable behavior and treatment to individuals who are experiencing a health issue requiring their services. This is a very pathetic example of a business that should be closed and all staff fired. Would give 0 stars if that was an option. read more

Had a mri there, and we are in the mist of a pandemic, an I substitute teach, we have been on lock down since March state slowly opening back up, as a sub you are not entitled to benefits normally, still waiting to see if I will get them. My co-pay was 411.00 dollars, ask them if I could pay 211.00 now an 200.00 at first of month, and was told flat out no. Just would have thought they would have taken that into consideration. Then was told my Doctor would have the results in 2-3 days an I know they are doing weekends they called me on a Sunday to schedule the appointment but take the weekend out has been five days. They wanted there money in a timely manner ( on the spot) but we do not even get to take them at there word. read more

When I arrived at the center, I learned there was an insurance issue even after waiting two weeks. The receptionist wouldn't call my doctor to resolve or address the issue. She offered to reschedule although I had this appointment for a week and was off work to do so. I was left with the option of waiting yet again for an appointment or pay out of pocket it try and resolve it myself. So I called my doctor's office while I was at the desk to see if there was a holdup on their end. The nurse confirmed she had communicated with the insurance company two weeks prior to provide all the requested information. Since I still didn't know what the problem was I requested that the receptionist speak to the doctor's office that I had on the phone. The receptionist refused to speak to my doctor's office on my phone, even on speaker phone, claiming this was due to HIPPA regulation. Since I was standing there giving her permission, it was obviously NOT a HIPPA violation in the least. And, since the only information that she was transmitting to my doctor was the contact number and person for the MRI center, it wasn't even patient information being transmitted. So, while I had the doctor's office on speaker phone two feet from her, she physically wrote the telephone number of the MRI center on a piece of paper and passed it to me to read to the doctor's office rather than speaking it to me. There appeared to be absolutely no recognition within this organization that the patient's time is valuable. It isn't as if everyone is sitting around and can just continue to make and reschedule medical appointments without work time losses or continued pain. Instead of assisting in resolving this issue immediately, there was one block after another erected to avoid any extra effort on the MRI staff part. It was easier for them to just reschedule than to try and work with me and resolve the issue so my time wasn't wasted. There is obviously an issue with the management policies and training of personnel. Instead of being trained in appropriate use of federal regulations, they are using it as a shield to justify bureaucratic policies. This was not about privacy. And it certainly wasn't about quality patient assistance or even timely coordination of care. When a front line employee thinks she can't physically speak out the phone number of her facility, there is a HUGE customer service issue. There is a HUGE policy issue. There is a HUGE training issue. After the MRI I was told it would be about five minute wait for the results to take to my doctor. Twenty minutes later went ask at desk. They contacted the back after which I waited for another ten minutes or more. While the care technicians were professional, competent, and pleasant, the first impression reflecting such poor management soured my entire experience. After I left, I traced the problem for the delay (took about 30 minutes of my own time). The doctor office sent referral two weeks prior. The MRI office didn't start referral until two days prior to my appointment. I was told by MRI facility that the delay was due to my doctor office, which in retrospect is totally untrue. So there is now possibly at least an explanation as for why the front desk didn't want to speak on speaker phone as it would be clear at that time where the delay actually was. I left a message with the supervisor at MRI-CT to discuss this. She called me back and she let it ring one time and hung up without leaving a message in return. Nice. read more

My daughter was scheduled for an MRI of the brain. The day prior her pre call phone call did not prepare her for what to expect during the procedure. They basically discussed insurance and co pay. When she arrived for the appointment she was not told by the technologist what to expect during the procedure. The use of contrast was not explained so she was not prepared to have the injection. Overall the procedure itself was fine however the patient preparation and patient education was non existent. I would expect any technologist to explain the procedure prior. read more

Do not use this facility unless you have time to waste. I showed up to my first appointment only to find out that the procedure code was wrong. That was partially my doctor's fault, but should have also been checked by the technician that took my history and reviewed the orders. To reschedule the appointment it took 7 phone calls. My doctor had to fax the new order on 3 different days before MRI & CT Diagnostics acknowledged receiving it. Finally I had an appointment, but 15 minutes later a manager calls me back and says they made a mistake - "that time is not available for the equipment needed" She wanted me to come in at 9:00 for a 9:00 PM appointment. Since I had already filled out the history and paperwork on the last visit she said there was no need to come early. OK. I arrived around 845 PM only to sit there until 940. When I asked the receptionist about the delay she said I was scheduled to come in at 915 for a 940 scan!! Be careful!!! -The day before my MRI was scheduled I was informed that Diagnostics doesn't accept my Medicare/Aetna advantage program. Meaning I would need to self pay for the MRI or find a different provider, get the approvals from the insurance, get the script from the DR.s offices, and schedule the MRI. Of course I would be sitting in pain an additional period of time (at least two additional weeks) before treatment could begin. I don't understand why they did not inform me at the initial contact that my plan was unacceptable. read more
