So we were vacationing in Paso Robles with friends and family and wanted to find a cool activity for the kids. My wife found this but we didn't quite know what to expect. It was a bit colder than we are used to but we decided to brave the cold outdoors. We bought tickets online, arrived just before dusk with the families and parked in the dirt lot. We walked to the entrance which had a cool outdoor grass area with a couple food options, as well as an indoor bar area that offered limited adult beverages and hot drinks for the kids, which I'd totally recommend to keep you warm dueing your walk. They also had a makeshift stage area where a band would start playing a bit later in the evening. So basically there is a path setup for you to walk and enjoy the "light show." Near the start of the path there have VIP seating if you'd rather just enjoy the lights from a bench while overlooking the "Valley of lights." Otherwise you can walk the path where they have several different light exhibits for you to enjoy. That's pretty much it from what we could tell. It was a while ago but if I remember correctly we might have walked around for close to an hour to enjoy all the beautiful colors and exhibits that were set up. All in all, the kids liked it and it was a different activity to get us outside. read more

I have wanted to visit this spot for soooo long and finally got to go and it was amazing! The company was so accommodating to the 3 separate times we had to change our ticket dates (kids, life, emergencies, haha). We weren't ever charged and they are so responsive over email to quickly respond. I think going in the winter was special and caused reason to bundle up as we walked the path. The location is easy to find from the highway and there's quite a bit of parking. It was not easy to find the actual entrance after we parked. We were meandering for a bit until we found it. The staff working were welcoming and gave us a brief run through of the field. They had live music near the entrance and a seating area for people to hang. The actual path around the field is a loop and ensures you see the full show. The light towers are really cool. It would've been nice to have some music playing on speakers along the path, similar to the music playing at the light towers. It felt so quiet! Others in my party were a little concerned about the path in the dark and fear of tripping on something, so wished it was lit a bit better. What an awesome summer night! Go do this! Great live music by a talented musician and singer. Ample seating and beverages while you wait for the sun to go down. Walk on a trail through magical lighting and listen to all of the ooohhhh ahhhhhh of people around you. Try your best to capture the best photo of the experience. The "Dimensions" installation is totally worth the extra fee, so don't skimp, do it. Go in it and also sit at the top and look down on it. The music moves the lighting to different forms and colors. Sensorio is such a beautiful place to go and enjoy some beautiful lights. Upon arrival they have plenty of parking and there are two lines to get inside. One line is the express and the other is the VIP line. They go over the rules and regulations before coming in. They also check your purse/bags for safety reasons. Sensorio is big and its best to bring your walking shoes because you will get tired. Plus, it gets dark really fast. They have hot cocoa regular, and they have it with alcohol (baileys, etc.). If it gets cold, it will warm you up a bit. The lights are beautiful and the pictures come out really nice. Loved my experience here. read more

Came with the fam bam on 4th of July. We arrived a bit after 8:30pm when the sun was starting to set and the lights were starting to come on. Tickets are super expensive! We opted for the all-access pass which is $70+ per adult. I personally think it's overpriced, but everything seems to be that way nowadays. At least parking was free! We didn't try any of the food or drinks, but we saw a few food trucks before the exhibition entrance and in the Dimensions exhibit. Dimensions was my favorite out of all of the exhibits. Wine was available for purchase and there were fire pits that you can sit at to enjoy your glass of wine. We were able to catch a glimpse of the 4th of July fireworks show happening close by. read more

As my young daughter and I were entering, a couple was leaving and said "Hope you are easily impressed" .... Fast forward we were meandering through the field of lights and my 6yo whispered "we ARE easily impressed" in fact, we travel all over CA to see beautiful things and intentionally stopped in Paso to see this installation. For us, the price was steep but absolutely worth it! Pictures can't capture the experience at all. We've seen holiday light shows and it wasn't anything like that. Shadow casting is beautiful to me so DIMENSIONS was our favorite. We didn't have any expectations for the food or drinks, we came for the lights. We ended up ordering some chicken strips from the cafe and that was nice to have an option for hungry kids! We entered at 7:00 and left around 9:00. Poor planning on my part but we needed warmer clothes, it was bitterly cold when the wind picked up. And we didn't have enough time to see everything... I read some reviews that said they only needed an hour? I'm shocked by this but we are "easily impressed" people so we took our time. It was pitch black between exhibits which made for some nice star gazing but it was tricky for anyone who struggles to see in the dark. We hope to make it back to complete the tour. Paso Robles has so many hidden gems and Sensorio is definitely one of them! Tickets were $45 a piece online and me and the hubby came on a Wednesday night during the end of December about an hour and a half before it closed. Getting in was easy and all we needed to show was our tickets and go through security. It was cold but the lights were so beautiful and we stayed, walked around, and took pictures until closing. Even with taking pictures it just doesn't do it justice as what you see with your own eyes. You can see colored fields for miles it seemed. I loved the installation with the lights inside of the wine bottles that played the African style music. We had eaten before we got there but there was a couple food trucks and a restaurant that offered and food and drinks and alcohol. The path was smooth and although I needed my flashlight a couple times to see it is a pretty easy path to follow. If you appreciate art and flowers this is a place you'll enjoy. We saw families of all ages and couples as well so this is definitely a family friendly and date night type of place read more

The concept is incredible and it really is a site to behold in person! However, the overall execution of the experience could be improved speaking from an accessibility perspective. And it looks like some enhancements and updates are in progress, so that's positive. First, the parking lot is under construction or it's currently being transitioned from a gravel lot to a more structured/paved which is a great improvement. But while it's undergoing the improvement additional signage or traffic control would be helpful. Especially for people with mobility impairments (walker, cane, wheelchair) the gravel lot is difficult to navigate. The entrance/welcome is nice, good customer experience with friendly staff at the initial entrance, checking belongings and guiding you through the metal detectors. I appreciated that when attempting to use the portable toilets at this entrance, a staffer informed us that there were real restrooms inside - thank you! We enjoyed walking through the exhibits and experiencing the various light displays. As the sun set the displays became more vibrant, but the walking paths got darker and very difficult to see where you were walking or what you might be stepping on. Another accessibility call out here, especially for those with balance issues who rely on sight to maintain balance while walking. Overall we had a great experience and would love to see improvements made so that more people can enjoy it, safely. read more

We had a really good time visiting Sensorio last month. A few things I would have liked to know before I cam though: -It says no dogs, so we paid to have a sitter come and watch our dog but I saw half a dozen dogs at least so I was a little put out by that as they were clearly not service dogs. I say bring your dog if you want to because there doesn't seem to be much push back from staff. -We waited in the food and music area towards the beginning until it got dark to view the lights but you can walk through while there is some light and your way back will be dark If we had done this, I believe we would have gotten more perspective, better photos and less crowds. -They offer premier seating for a higher price. Don't buy it. The people sitting there paid more for a limited view. Once I saw the seating, I was baffled. -They have a few food options but the prices are high. That being said, we paid $24 for a crab melt and fries that my husband thought was delicious! I myself thought the entire experience was a bit overpriced but I am still glad we went. It's a fairly unique experience. -The whole thing can take between an hour or three depending on the speed you choose to go. Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves and it was romantic and beautiful at times. There were also a lot of rude, loud people and children who ruined entire stretches for everyone around them. If you go, please be quiet and let others enjoy the ambiance. read more

I don't know how I learned about Sensorio. I live in Chicagoland and when I saw the website immediately called my friends in SoCal and planned a trip. Well worth it!! We arrived just before sunset and made our way to the terrace. The fireplaces all around the terrace kept us warm and comfortable as we enjoyed the sun setting on the horizon. The lights started to glow softly and as the daylight disappeared into the darkness the landscape became spectacular. Thousands of lights glowing brightly formed a rainbow carpet that extended for acres. We took our wine and walked the paths surrounded by the beauty of the artwork. Turned a corner into a tunnel and we were surprised by the light towers area. We were in awe. The music, which to me resembles Ladysmith Black Mambazo South African choral group, beats rhythmically enhanced my experience, sensing and participating. I am so glad I made the trip from Chicago. read more

You are in awe at how beautiful it looks and wonder how they were able to put it together- so artistic and creative. Simply put: a must do if you're near! Outside of the iconic lights bulbs in the hills, the other exhibits are in constant rotation. But those light bulbs are breathtaking and make for great photos. I also recommend getting the terrace experience upgraded ticket. You get priority entry, access to the terrace area that has private tables with fireplaces lined in front of you, private bathrooms, and a free drink at the bar (limited to a wine glass or beer on tap). It elevated our experience tenfold. It was a freezing night and being able to walk to the Terrace area and escape the cold was HUGE. Service was exactly what it needed to be, nothing stands out but that's all good for me. Visited Sensorio yesterday -- while the light installations were truly stunning and made for a memorable evening, one experience left a sour taste. I was not allowed to bring a small pack of M&M's for my 3-year-old child. Any parent knows how unpredictable toddlers can be, and I always carry a few M&M's to help calm my child when he's overwhelmed. I politely explained this to the staff at the entrance, but they were completely inflexible -- not even one small candy was allowed. This is the first time I've encountered such a rigid policy, especially one that shows such a lack of understanding or compassion toward young children. Most places are accommodating when it comes to toddlers' needs -- but clearly, not here. As a parent, I won't be returning to a place that doesn't show basic care or consideration for babies and families. Disappointing. read more

While on a weekend trip in Paso Robles my cousins and I came here to see what this place is all about. We didn't have tickets but were able to purchase them at the entrance. I know they sell them online but since we don't know if we will have time to visit I didn't purchase them. We came in around 7 pm. It was a little too early to see the lights so we decided to have dinner and wine here at the cafe. We ordered sandwiches and fries and salad. Some of us got food from the Mexican food truck. It was delicious. However the food from the cafe was bad, tasteless and disappointing. I don't know how they can sell this kind of food where there are so many tourists visiting from all over the world. It's a shame. They are better off selling premade packaged deli sandwiches and salads than making it there. After we purchased some wine we sat by the fire outside and enjoyed the live music. I even danced a little :) As soon as it was dark enough we started walking towards the lights. How beautiful it was. All around you thousands of colorful lights. Takes about thirty minutes to walk around if you don't stop. . I absolutely loved the Dimensions by HYBYCOZO. Absolutely amazing. I didn't want to leave. We purchased the all access pass to see all the exhibits. I noticed It was a bit pricier at the door than if you were to purchase it online. Overall a great place to visit while in Paso Robles. It's hard to put a price on art and experiences but I'm not gonna lie, I was a little taken back at first when I saw the price of admission. But after going and having the experience, I have to encourage you, who is reading this to go, you won't regret it. I arrived shortly after the doors opened and as I made my way up the walk path, I could hear the sound of music; the venue hosts live music which is featured in a pavilion you pass as you enter the property just past the entry gates. The pavilion is surrounded with seating and fire pits along with a big grassy field. They offer onside concessions including some food options and a full bar. Depending on the ticket you select, you gain entry to the original field installation which had become a permanent feature and encouraged the expansion to include some additional areas to explore. I recommend buying the full access but not necessarily the terrace view as it's fun to spend time meandering through the various installations and if you get thirsty on your walk, they have included airstream campers which have been converted into bar cars. So you can sit and enjoy your drinks overlooking the various areas without the additional expense of the terrace admission ticket price. I only added a few photos because I think you need to experience this for yourself. You won't be disappointed. read more

Really loved this art installation! The meadow was definitely the wow factor of the event. The standing lanterns, jellyfish-like display and fan-like display were mediocre in comparison. The great part is that there are benches scattered throughout the walking path of the meadow so you can take a break to take it all in. The lights do gradually change ever so slightly so it's worth taking a seat to see the colors fade into new colors. Food-wise, the venue offers a Mexican food truck as well as typical American eats like corn dogs and burgers that are priced up. I'd say skip the food here, eat beforehand, and order a nice cocktail to sip on as you wait for the sun to set before gazing upon the art installations. The bathrooms were clean but I recommend using the ones connected to the food venue as those are nicely heated. The other bathrooms are outdoors in the cold next to the music venue. The grassy lawn area upon entrance has a bunch of fire pits in front of the live music venue which was super nice but of course, the family groups ended up taking more of the chairs to crowd around a quarter of the fire pits. So, the venue would've definitely benefited having more chairs available. Since this event is outdoors, I do highly recommend bringing and spraying on bug spray as there are small mosquitoes!! I ended up getting bit on my chin so that was no buenooo :( read more

Tough review to write. "Coolness" factor, it's probably a 5 star, but for the price (to see everything), it just isn't worth it. They have 2 "must see" exhibits - Field of Lights & Dimensions, but you have to buy an all access pass ($75+ with fees). The rest of the exhibits (except maybe Light Towers) is a waste. They open at 6:30pm, but neither of the must see exhibits are worth seeing until it gets dark - not dusk, but dark. So, at least 8pm in August - and the close at 10. If it was $25+/person then definitely worth it, but for ~$150 for a couple to walk around for a couple hours to look at 2 maybe 3 cool light exhibits, seems like too much. There is plenty of parking and nice facilities (food/drink to purchase options, plenty of restrooms, seating with heater, etc). Unfortunately the walking path around the exhibits are packed dirt so expect your shoes to be filthy when you get home. read more

Got here early on a Thursday night. Plenty of parking, waited in line. It's hot. Thankful we brought an umbrella to shield us from the intense sun. Alicia, a person who greeted us was the best. Personal, professional, informative and very helpful. Security guy at the door, not so much. Chose the Terrace, picked up our charcuterie tray and drink and sat for a couple of hours enjoying the sunset. Very mellow group. The ticket price = $238/for two people is a little pricey but the experience is worth it. Able to bring my ThermoFlask in the park. Had to dump my water but able to keep the ice. Bought waters inside and refilled it. If... your mosquito sensitive wear layers and bring mosquito patches. You need it. No flash pictures, no selfie sticks, no flash lights but not really necessary. Very cool place to go to. Enjoy the night. Enjoy the live music. Enjoy the restaurant. Slow down and enjoy the sunset and all the lights. Great experience. read more

No selfie sticks, mono pods, tripods allowed. Anything that extends isn't permitted inside according to the security screener by the metal detector. So off I went back to the car to return my contraband. They did allow my empty water bottle in, which I refilled with warm water with the facilities outdoor refilling station. Our teen and my wife were hungry as we entered at 7:00, so they got chicken tenders and a salmon sandwich in the Mercado Sensorio. They had decent choices for food and drinks inside the newly unveiled restaurant. There was a food truck and an airstream selling merch out in the lawn with a duo singing for the patrons while they lounged in the warm afternoon sun. I counted three toilet sections in the non-VIP common areas. One was in the new restaurant, another was by the lawn and the last were porta potties located at the end of the exhibition with the Fireflies. We got a bench on top of the hill facing the sun, and I had to prop my smartphone with two water bottles to keep it steady during its time-lapse recording of more than an hour. Sunset was 8:20 but darkness was achieved after 20-30 minutes in the moonless sky. Hello optic fiber illumination. As the sun disappeared from the horizon, activity was buzzing, and we rushed to the Light Towers, Gone Fishing and Fireflies sector of the art display. Walking back towards the exit/entrance, we got a surprise as the July full moon (Buck moon) was rising from the west. Guests were snapping lots of shots to that area of the fields, and so was I. It was a special experience, but I don't think it's worth coming back for. I'll probably regret saying that years from now. read more

Sensorio is where the Field of Lights is hosted. It is a large area of rolling hills and land the house's massive fields of lights. The lights are set up in different areas with different themes. Dimensions is really nice where you can actually interact with some of the displays. Murono is a very lengthy area of rolling hills filled with dozens of lights that slowly continue to change colors. We did not try any of the food, but it is great for a date night for 2, but will be about $150 per person. No issues with parking at all, just make sure you have your walking shoes on and you will have a great time. read more

Wasn't exactly certain what to expect and attended Sensorio at the suggestion of the host of where I stayed. Overall, it is a most unique and beautifully experience; convenient, very courteous and helpful employees and very plentiful and innovative parking- best light show for a parking area ever ! However, what I never expected was to be completely taken by one section of the exhibit in particular- the Fiber Optic Symphony Orchestra or FOSO experience...and 'experience' is the understatement of the decade. Granted, I'm somewhat biased and completely geeked-out because I've been a professional in the music industry all of my adult life. That being said, I cannot overstate enough the attention to detail and beauty that has unmistakably gone into this project. From concept, to each and every lighting strand, to the paths to experience it, to the sensitivity to every essence of this immersive, gorgeous exhibit... and lastly, but never further from the least, the breathtakingly and beautifully composed orchestral score by Nianita Desai. Of major merit as well is the recording quality, the sound design and reproduction by the audio system and the obvious immense production expertise and time invested in putting it all together...but also, in separating and assigning of what seems like at least 25 or 30 separate stems of this most fruitful musical tree. Yeah, I know; but what I'm trying to convey is almost indescribable. But may it suffice to say, if you just love music when it's being communicated in the highest possible manner, or you simply want to enjoy something of rare beauty- do your soul a favor and experience THIS. And when you add the sheer extraordinary overall vision, the light show spectacular and this exceedingly lovely score, it is truly one of the most immersive, coordinated and well done productions I could imagine. Couple that with the most unexpected, but so highly appreciated personal mini-tour/insider back-stories presented by an obvious officianado in the industry and just so kind employee named Jody Birks, and you have the makings of a simply wonderful experience... again, words like 'wonderful' simply begin to truly describe this. Is it pretty? Yes. Is it worth $65 for adults and $30 for kids? Not really. My kids are very into art right now, but this exhibit fell flat on them. Since it's basically a long walk to admire the lights it's not really fun for kids under 10. If you do the Dimensions exhibit that is more fun for them with some spinning light fixtures. One thing that bugged me was the staff. All around the park there are workers to assist guests. I kept seeing these ushers standing around, not helping anyone. One group of 3 guys were chatting and not paying attention to the guest who were walking down a path that led to a dead end because of maintenance. So those guys are just collecting their check, I guess. They were too busy to tell the multiple people who walked past them that the path dead ends in 50 yards. I think it's a nice place if you're taking your parents, or on a date. For families with young kids, it's a toss up. read more

Was a most unique experience in Paso Robles and must for a local date with wife/significant other/lover/casual date or with families and kids. I would arrive just around sundown and enjoy some food (recommend the tri tip sandwich). About 20 minutes after sundown you should head over by a short walk to the lights which are mostly blue, purple, red lights that span acres over isolated tall oak trees. It's just simply a breathtaking experience, unique, and something I'll always remember. They had really awesome country music and you can sit on fire pits relaxing after walking around the lights. read more

It was worth the money to see all the features. We didn't do the VIP. Prior to visiting I kept wondering if this was worth the money. I'm so glad went and walk through the lights. Being immersed was better than any pictures you'll see. You don't need to hours before sunset. Especially if it's cold like the day we went! The live band was pleasant to listen to while we waited for it to get dark. I would check your weather app and see what time sunset is and arrive at that time. There will still be 30 mins before it's totally dark. Total walking distance was about 2 miles. Some paths were very dark. Indoor/outdoor always love to expose kiddos to the arts. This is a beautiful year around art light creative exhibition. Very Different from a holiday light show. It is a little pricey, the most expensive is about 70.00 per adult, 36 for children . They have other packages, but then you don't get the full experience. If you decide to go, go early, leave at least an hour before closing, and do not order food whatever you do. We were so excited about going and had booked two terrace tickets (each $115) with a "crudite tray." My friend drove 5 hrs to be here as part of my birthday weekend celebration. We had a great experience until we got to the terrace at around 715p. It was freezing even with the heaters. If you stepped away from them it was incredibly cold. Yes, it's early March but the website made it sound like the terrace was much cozier and it wasn't possible to sit and enjoy some time just taking in the ambiance of the light field. The light field is nice, and it's very big. Looks lovely at night. But it was so cold even right in front of the heaters. We changed into warmer clothes we had brought just in case and opened the "crudite tray" which was presented to us in two small cardboard boxes with to go lids. I have photos below. We laughed at the limited veg and saltine crackers... not a joke...saltines that I'd paid $27 for. See the photo below. We just put the lid back on, set it in our bag, and started our walk quickly through the installations. They're fun. They're not the most exceptional art we've ever seen but they're fun. We enjoyed it til we got to the trees and security let us know they were going to close at 830. We were escorted out of half of the exhibits to leave the grounds with a guard sweeping a flashlight across the trail at our ankles. We asked the guard to please walk a longer distance away as it was not only unsettling to have someone so close, but ruined the light installation appreciation. We had no argument with walking to the exit. It didn't have to be pressured as though we were acting out or had been intoxicated. I'd had 1/4 of my wine. It was too cold to drink it. But the guard was incredibly rude, moved literally 3 footsteps away, and would not give us any more space despite telling him it was making us uncomfortable. We paid sooo much for these tickets and we frankly felt disrespected. Then a group of young employees that couldn't have been more than in their early 20s started in on shouting that we were being troublemakers and just needed to leave. It was laughably awful once we were in the car but felt like a lord of the flies ending. We looked at the "crudite tray" the next morning. It included; 5 saltine crackers, 3 broccoli florets, 4 1/2 cauliflower florets, 5 grape tomatoes, 3 slices of cucumber, & 5 baby carrots. There was black growth on the cauliflower and the cucumbers were starting to go transparent in areas. For $27 I never expected the moon but this was ridiculous and may not have even been safe to eat. Glad we went to a gorgeous restaurant in Paso to follow and hadn't eaten any of that! Photos are below. Wish it had all been lovely but we were just happy to leave in the end.
