What was frustrating to me is that some of the advice I received was useful and some of it was baloney! The first appointment was spent with the provider talking on and on and making generic recommendations, we didn't even go through my medical history! Then a few red flags popped up (recommended expensive, $300+, not covered by insurance DUTCH testing for "estrogen dominance" and other distractions to waste your money), and a real push for me to start seeing an ND even though I didn't want to. I'm just glad I checked with my gynecologist about the usefulness of the test (it's not useful) before wasting my money! I did find the staff to be kind and personable, hence the two stars instead of one. They may be helpful if you are looking to incorporate more veggies in your diet, but not for any management of actual medical conditions.

I thought a nutritionist would lecture me on not eating enough vegetables and make me feel guilty for eating a doughnut occasionally; boy was I wrong! They support your decisions and gently couch you to making better nutritional choices and lifestyle changes to make you feel better, based on what's best for you. They don't just choose a diet and tell you it's what you need to do! So happy that they are my partner in creating the best version of myself.

I gained belief in my ability to take charge of my health by believing in the science of Michaels approach, I gained self-love, respect and acceptance as I worked through some tough issues that kept me static for a bit, I gained a champion in my corner always, someone who approaches with courage, connection and grace while not being afraid to prod you a bit, to motivate you to question your false beliefs about health, weight loss, life, yourself. The support I've felt with Michael has been life changing. He has made a huge difference in my health life, I've never felt more supported and accepted by a healthcare provider who truly cares about his clients lives whether we're talking nutrition or just life. I've never felt restricted, there's no "diet" plan, there's just complete acceptance of where you are in your journey in this moment. There've been tears, ridiculous amounts of laughter, a whole lot of realness and everything in between and I wouldn't change a moment of my experience with Nutrition with Heart If you want to finally gain control of your nutrition and exercise, you will not find a more supportive, engaging, connected and community focused team. Thank you NWH!

Michael's approach is holistic and caring, he listens and customizes plans to each of our needs, and help us bridge the individual lifestyles. Regular check-ins keep us accountable and our conversations are always encouraging and wholesome, we highly recommend Michael for anyone who's looking to step up their nutrition game!

If you care about being proactive about staying healthy, this is the medical practice for you. I've…read morebeen seeing Dr. Mark Woodall as a patient since November 2023. Before that time, I was a patient of a large medical practice in Issaquah for over a decade. I've always tried to eat well and stay fit through exercise. So it has been frustrating that the story I've received every year at my annual checkup from my primary care physician at this large medical practice is the same: some of your biomarkers are higher than ideal and we'll just watch them. No further investigation, no analysis of underlying causes, no next steps at all. After I saw Dr Woodall, I learned for the first time that there were steps that I could take to address the underlying causes of my high biomarkers. The steps that I have taken include both medicines as well as nutritional supplements based on scientific knowledge and lab testing of vitamins and nutrients my body is not absorbing well. And I'm confident that the steps that I have taken will help me stay fit, active, and healthy as I move into an older stage of life. The doctors of the practice take a holistic approach seeking the root causes of ailments rather than merely addressing symptoms as seems to be the norm for many medical practices these days due. If you want to get ahead of health problems instead of dealing with them only after they arise, this is a medical practice that is highly worth investigating.

I had a phone screen and two onsite visits with Heidi when she was still at her Northgate location back in November 2017. Ancient Yelp post, I know. She has since then moved to her Lynnwood location. I underwent the screening and paid out of pocket for the lab work up. She was very thorough, personable, and passionate about her profession. Upon first meeting, you knew she really cared about your well-being and listened to your concerns. I ended up with a lot of information to digest, but in the end I did not pursue one of her tailored programs. What I did greatly appreciate though seven months later, there was no pressure and the information provided enough guidance for me to make tangible changes in my diet and lifestyle.

I first saw her when I was struggling to recover…read morefrom a virus that had lingered for months -- it seemed like every time I started to feel better, I'd have a setback and feel tired and miserable again. I started feeling some improvements within a month and by four months was feeling so much better than I've felt in years. To be honest, the foods Heidi told me I needed to avoid.. I already knew I should avoid. But, what really helped me were the things she had me add to my diet, both whole foods and supplements. Many of us have tried dietary changes that center on what you can't have. If you're like me, you focus on what you can't have or can't do, and eventually your will power fades. It helped that Heidi handed me a list of foods I actually like to focus on eating, but really what made it doable is that Heidi is very kind and doesn't expect or want perfection from you. When I have a hectic week or am traveling and can't make ideal meal choices, I am able to rely on my supplement regime to fill in the gaps. These days my health and energy level are a little up and down (depending on how closely... or not... I follow Heidi's recommendations, so there's a NYE resolution somewhere in that). When I was following my plan pretty strictly, my primary care doctor was so thrilled with the improvement in my health that she said she wasn't going to ask questions about what I was doing because she loved the results. :)
