We spent two days in a cold house thinking we could solve the problems with our ductless heat pump…read moreunits ourselves before calling a professional. Why did we wait so long? As soon as we called Bryant at Sea Starr our problems were over. He answered the call himself and came promptly the next morning. It turns out that we couldn't have fixed it ourselves, because the refrigerant in the outside had leaked and had to be topped up. He also replaced a small Cadet wall heater that had died. We are warm and toasty now. The bill was very reasonable. Thanks Sea Starr! PS - Bryant is a licensed and bonded contractor who can do lots of things we need. We'll be calling him again!

See my other reviews for my experience with a different company that was very poor. On January 11th, my wife and I had dealt with the other company enough... So we stopped at the fire station to see if they could recommend someone for us. A man named Jerry came out and introduced himself, he is a volunteer with the Fire Department and he has an HVAC business that also does chimney care. Jerry was extremely polite and gave us his card. Our chimney was swept 2 days later and he was extremely thorough. He swept the chimney, vacuumed out the flew, and cleaned the entire fire place area. He did a great job and we couldn't be more pleased. He placed sheets down to keep our floors clean and he even cleaned the roof area around our chimney for us. We couldn't be happier. Thank you Jerry! Our experience was super positive. If you need HVAC or sweep help, give them a call. What an awesome local company that still knows what customer service is. Not to mention 3 days for a turn around on a sweep is pretty fast. We will call him next year without a doubt. (As long as we are still here).

Our Alpine‑installed Lennox HVAC system failed after only five years when the compressor motor…read moredied. Even though the part was fully covered under warranty, Alpine insisted we pay for the labor, $1,100 in refrigerant, and the $125 service fee. When I questioned the charges, they simply threw the warranty at me and pointed to the line saying refrigerant isn't covered -- as if that excused a failure that shouldn't have happened in the first place. Their original bill came to $1,750 for a problem that wasn't ours to begin with. Being charged for someone else's mistake just doesn't sit right with me. I asked multiple times for the service manager to call me so we could discuss the charges. He didn't call until two weeks after the repair was already completed. He claimed he had called several times, but after checking my call log, he had only called once -- and didn't leave a message. If you're looking for a company that stands behind their work and communicates honestly, you may want to look elsewhere.
