Señoreata has been around for a good amount of years now and considering how long ago it was when I first visited this pop-up, I'm surprised I have yet to review this vendor. So my most recent trip to Smorgasburg has led me to revisit Señoreata. The Cuban Sandwich rocks my world! It's filled with mojo marinated jackfruit, pickles, and cheese. MENU - vegan Cuban food with appetizers/snacks and entrees - average price ($16 per entree) FOOD Lechon asada yucca fries (10/10): absolutely loved this! Starting with the fries, they are different from potato wedges since they are slightly crispier. On top of that was a generous amount of marinated jackfruit that was cooked until tender. I purchased pastries from the owner for a friends birthday in yucca, she posted a pickup flyer with the wrong info and I went out of my way to let her know her dates were wrong so she wouldn't mess up ALL her orders. She fixed it later but my friend must have still gotten confused seen her original posting and got to the location with her wrong info. She said if he didn't pick them up on time they'd go to the store to have zero acceptions . Even though I helped her out by correcting her mistake & purchased a big order she did nothing to be helpful to my friend. She had a rude entitled attitude the entire time. And her pastries weren't even all they're cracked out to be. Would much rather give my money to someone who cares about their clientele. For someone that's new to the Desert community you should do better. It's people like her that make locals dislike transplants. read more

After watching these amazing ladies take the title on the Amazing Food Truck Race I had to go check out their food and found them at Smorgasburgla. I ordered the Frita Cubana along with the Papa Rellena. I had to wait a little longer than usual due to a minor mix up which was understandable and they made it right. The Frita Cubana was really flavorful and literally melts in your month. The Papa Rellena was very crispy and the filling was very well seasoned. Definitely looking forward to trying other items on the menu on my next visit. read more

I was sooooo excited to finally experience this particular food truck! My husband told me a while back about this Latina-owned Cuban plant-based food truck that won The Great Good Truck Race, so imagine my surprise when i saw the truck at Smorgasburg LA! As someone of Cuban descent, this just made me proud! It's extremely rare to encounter a place that can take Cuban food which is so heavily based around meats and dairy ingredients and transform it into a plant-based option. That's no easy feat. So of course I was skeptical and had the hubs try it for me. We were greeted by a nice smiling face that explained the menu options. We decided on meat pies and croquetas. Delicious!!! They nailed the authentic flavors. Wow! Just...wow! I'm looking forward to tasting more and actually getting a photo of the food before the hubs demolishes it lol. I have to move quickly around him! The fried potatoes add a nice crunch and the sauce provides the acidity to balance the richness of the sandwich. Senoreata does a great job of keeping the spices and textures the same as if you're eating your abuelas home cooked Cuban food. I stopped by their booth during Smorgasburg on Sunday and ordered their fritadilla. Unfortunately I was unable to try it due to them making it and having it sit on the counter for 20 min. When I asked how much longer owner Evanice proceed to blame her colleague and let her know that she was told to put the toppings on. When I asked if they could remake it since it had been sitting for 20 minutes and I saw that they just made a fresh one that was on the grill Evanice said no.. I got the Cuban Sandwich and Potato Balls. The flavors of the Cuban Sandwich were amazing. The bread was nice and crispy. Jackfruit has great sweet flavors and is a great pork substitute. The Potato Balls were very crispy on the outside, but ratio of mash potatoes and the filling were off. There was more mash than filling which was overpowering the filling. Porto's Bakery Potato Balls has a great filling with the peppers and onions. But overall, really creative plant-based food. read more

This was my first stop at Smorgasburg and it was so delish! We got the plantain nachos with cuban picadillo. The picadillo was warm and perfect on this gloomy fall day. It was flavorful and hearty. The plantain chips are the perfect texture to hold the generous portion of picadillo. The chunks of creamy avocado and drizzle of cream was the icing on the cake! Loved it! I tried them out at Eat Drink Vegan for the first time, and I'm pretty darn impressed. I got: Meat Pie - 4/5 They're filled with a chili ground beef based mixture, with some onions and peppers, I believe. Well seasoned, but I wished these were more brown. They were served cold, which took away from the experience. Guava Cheese - 4.5/5 So long Portos, I'm breaking up with you. I'm a sucker for Guava Cheese Rolls, and I'll still have the vegetarian ones once or twice a year if it's at family pot lucks or events, even though I eat 99% vegan of the time. It's probably the last vegetarian item holding me back in terms of my willingly consumption of it. Well, while I must admit it does lack the fermented taste of the dessert cheese found in the former, Senoreata's version tastes good enough to compare to the standard guava, and surely curbs my craving when placed side by side with the nonvegan version as a choice. My bf had a bite and said he could tell it's vegan, but I think it's a completely acceptable veganized version, and that he's just too critical. It too, was a little white for my liking and I think it would have helped if they were warmed up (maybe bring a convection toaster oven next time). It is ideal for those who plan to travel with it, and eat it for a later time. (Meaning to just retoast it at home) Overall, I would definitely frequent their actual location if I'm in the mood for Cuban baked treats. The food is good, prices are fair, and service is friendly. I randomly came across this food stand in highland park and I was so excited because they serve a vegan version of one of my favorite foods, guava and cheese strudel. Since going vegan, I wasn't sure I would get to eat one again until I found them here. The filling was absolutely perfect, I couldn't even tell the cheese part was vegan. Senoreata is a pop-up business doing Cuban vegan food. They usually have four or five different things. I wish they would have more but I think it is a one-person business so I understand why that's hard. I tried their food for the first time when they were in front of Block Party on York Blvd in Highland Park, which is one of their more frequent spots. I liked their pulled "pork" sofrito tamale, which was excellent, and their plantain picadillo nachos, which were good. I didn't love the "meat" pies or the guava "cheese" pastelitos. Like I said, I hope they will be expanding their menu a bit, or swapping things in and out. I think people look forward to new things. I can't believe I have a local VEGAN spot for meat pies!!! These things are so addictive, you cannot just eat just one! I went to Smorgasburg and tried her NACHOS and loved. I was so excited about this new found pop up that I took some treats togo for my family to try. We put the meat pie and guava cheese strudel in the toaster oven and it was out of this world.
