That Salsa Verde is Spicy! I love it! I didn't get to experience the service at the restaurant but…read morethe take out service was very nice! They made sure to give utensils and napkins, so plus side for that. Now for what I ate from here. I got an Asada Wet Burrito topped with Salsa Verde. The burrito itself looked really nice, the overall flavor was good; not great. Something about the Asada itself, just didn't really do it for me personally. It was shredded and sliced at the same time in different parts of the burrito, but it all tasted the same; plain. They made a pretty hefty burrito! So points for that! The show stopper here was the Salsa Verde on top! The sauce I topped my burrito with was the salsa verde, but they also do red sauce if you choose. Their was beautiful soft and meaty pieces of Chile verde meat on top and the sides of the burrito, that meat was waaaayyyyy better than the asada. So go for that meat choice instead! The salsa verde is spicy! Great heat and flavor to it! Pro Tip: order a side of salsa verde to go with your burrito. It tends to get dry after your first few bites, so keep an extra side of sauce for topping and dipping! The cost of the burrito is $13.99 and I do feel it is worth the price. I would definitely come back and try out another burrito, but next time with a different meat. I would even be so keen on trying one of the Tortas they have on the menu. Come check this place out if you're in Visalia and looking for another Mexican Restaurant to try out! They have a very nice sized menu with plenty of stuff for Everyone!

I would give this place zero stars if I could. This place used to be good. But in the past several…read moreyears, it's completely gone downhill both in customer service, quality of the food, & its pricing. The portions have gotten noticeably smaller, however the prices continue to rise. What you are served is definitely not worth what Azul's charges you. This place used to be a regular go-to spot for myself when I am in Visalia, which is quite often. My sister & her husband were weekly regulars there & were (allegedly) friends with the owner. The last several times I've been there for a meal with my sister & BIL the owner has come over to say hello, but she has not seemed genuine or at all happy to see my sister & BIL. Instead, her "hellos" & the quick small talk that is expected of an owner greeting their regulars seemed incredibly forced & just completely inorganic. It was like she did not want us there, found it annoying that we were there, & did not appreciate our business at all. That made me feel very uncomfortable. The last time my family was there, it was my sister, mother, & their friend (a Visalia local) that were dining in. My mother picked up the check & paid by debit card & rounded up the just under $70 bill to $90 for the tip. When she looked at her bank statement a few days later, she discovered that the server had charged $100. My mom called my sister, who told her to call the owner & let her know what happened to make it right. They were trying to give the benefit of the doubt, but at the same time knew the chances of an experienced server mistaking a 2-digit total for a 3-digit total is highly unlikely. When my mother called the restaurant to speak to the owner, she kept my mother waiting on hold for the longest time. After the owner finally did come to the phone, she was very rude to my mom: didn't say hello or ask how she was. The owner completely dismissed the occurrence, saying that the server who ran the card was one of her best girls & longest employees & that there was no way that could have happened. The way she spoke to my mother, it was like she was trying to make my mother feel like it was her fault, & was making an issue out of nothing. My mom assured her that she had copies of the receipt with the correct total, to which the owner rudely said something like "okay, so what now? You want the $10 back?" completely dismissively. My mother tried to be polite--as this was a "friend" of my sister's & my sister & BIL were still at that point regulars--so she said the next time they came in to dine, they could discount that tab by $10. Obviously, that never happened. When my BIL found that out, he & my sister both decided they would no longer give their business to such a place. None of us have been back since. I do not recommend eating here. You will get mediocre food at an expensive price tag. Plus you will run the risk of dishonest servers over tipping themselves under the protection of an owner who clearly does not care & puts her customers down. If this was the experience of regular customers, I can only imagine how the non-regulars are treated...

My favorite thing to order is their beans and rice with their famous chips and salsa! Some things to keep in mind: -Patio is now more enclosed and not pet friendly (service animals only). -Parking is free but extremely busy during lunch or evenings on the weekdays! You might have to make a few laps on main or try a free all day parking. -They don't take reservations, but they have a room to rent for bigger parties. They are definitely less busy since opening so there isn't such a long wait time and most of the staff is super friendly and nice! Happy to see a classic staple back on Main Street.

Overall, I wouldn't say the food is bad--it just didn't have the bold flavors I typically look for in Mexican food. If you're someone who's sensitive to spice or doesn't enjoy the smoky, rich flavors found in many traditional Mexican dishes, this may actually be a great fit for you. My biggest concern was that the prices didn't quite match the overall quality. The service, however, was excellent. Maribel took great care of us and was friendly, attentive, and made the experience enjoyable. I ordered the Tostada Compuesta with grilled chicken. The chicken was tender and juicy, and the guacamole was fresh and good, though fairly standard. The highlight of the dish was definitely the homemade fried tortilla shell. It was perfectly crispy, not greasy at all, and held together well, but I wished it had a little more seasoning. My son ordered a regular ground beef burrito, and we added cheese and rice (he likes to keep things simple). He enjoyed it, although he thought it had a little too much rice. Personally, I didn't mind since we had paid extra to add it. My husband ordered the Two-Item Combo with shredded beef. The tacos were on the smaller side and somewhere between soft and crispy. The rice and beans were decent, but neither really stood out. The complimentary chips and salsa were also just okay. The salsa was a bit runny and could have used more spice and flavor. The standout of the entire meal was the El Gran Patrón cocktail. Made with Patrón Añejo, Patrón Citrónge, and served with a side shot of Grand Marnier, it was absolutely delicious and easily my favorite part of the experience. Our total came to about $84 for the three of us, which felt a little expensive for what we received. The night before, I had spent just over $60 feeding five people at another restaurant and even had leftovers. Everyone values dining differently, but for me, the overall value just wasn't there.

So many alcohol options to choose from. Food: The food was very good. Chips and salsa are always a great addition to any Mexican restaurant visit. I give them a B on presentation though. Although the food was delicious, my plate looked like it was just thrown together. We hear this restaurant has a second location so my wife and I are excited about trying the other location soon. I'm glad we arrived before the lunch rush because it was nice and quiet until around noon. The real standout was the bean dip served hot with chile verde sauce. I ordered the lunch special with shredded beef flautas. For $11.99, it was a solid deal and pretty tasty. I can be a tough critic, especially when it comes to Mexican food, so that says a lot. I can see why this restaurant was voted one of the best Mexican restaurants in Kings County in 2025. It's definitely worth checking out. But every place is different, and it didn't taste bad at all. Jamaica: Also super yummy. The place is pretty clean, and the only thing I'd say is that when asking the cashier about what comes as a topping on your tostadas, make sure you ask about onions. I also opted for no guacamole cause that comes standard and I also added rice for a little extra charge. The meat was still just ok to not really for me tbh. It wasn't really fatty, but either the cut or the seasoning they're using. It wasn't bad this time. I would definitely eat it if I was on the side of town and craving asada again, but I wouldn't make it my "go-to" burrito. The green salsa was the perfect amount of heat without being spicy.
