This place is terrible. I would give a"0" star if possible…read more We live hours away from my grandfather, so when he was rushed to the hospital for a procedure and then required to go into assisted living before being released to from the hospital, a family member found this place for him. At $2.2k/month we realized jet was not the top of the line when it comes to assisted living, but definitely expected more. The language barrier is the first obstacle, as hardly any of the people who work there speak English. There is also only 1 person working and 4 or more residents. Every time we went to visit there was one poor old man just sitting on a toilet unattended to. I think he was there with all doors open for an hour or longer during one visit. My grandfather was there for two weeks before we were able to go visit. The first thing he told us was he felt that he was having trouble catching his breath. We took him to urgent care that was one block away to find out that he had pneumonia! None of the staff took anytime to listen to his symptoms or to call his emergency contacts to have him tended to sooner. An 85 year old with pneumonia is a scary thing and needs to be tended to promptly!! The urgent care immediately emitted him to the ER! In addition to the above, the food is atrocious! One dinner was McDonalds cheeseburgers!!! My grandfather has high blood pressure!! Nowhere is McDonalds on an approved diet for someone with high blood pressure and cholesterol!! My grandfather is dying now in the hospital from pneumonia and congestive heart failure and we were forced to end his residency rather abruptly from Calloway only to get an aggressive call from the owners informing us that we owe over $2.2k!!! Pound sand!! Send my dying 85 year old to collections, as you'll never get another penny from us!!

Around The Clock Home Care sent a fantastic PT to work with me. Jo was so helpful getting me back on my feet to safely regain my mobility. My family and I highly recommend Around The Clock Home Care. So far, two of my family members have…read moreused Around The Clock services a total of five times. We initially found out about them from Encompass rehabilitation hospital (formerly Health South), and have specifically requested them ever since. My mother and brother are fairly fragile health-wise, and after injuries and surgeries (and hospital stays) they have had nurse visits, physical therapy (PT) visits, and occupational therapy (OT) visits. Only one staff member (a PT several years ago) was less than stellar. Otherwise, the nurses, supervisors, PT's and OT's have been wonderful. I wanted to highlight two of our favorites. Tilly is an OT that worked with my brother recently. Her attitude and personality "sparkles" as my mom says. She makes the work fun for the patient because of her warm and caring personality. And she really works with the patient rather than just giving advice and directions. She is conscientious and her work with my brother has made all the difference in getting him back to being mobile and to the point where he can do his self-care independently. My mom says that any positive adjective can be used to describe her. Fernando is a PT that has worked with both my mom and brother most of the times that we used Around The Clock. Fernando, like Tilly, is conscientious, well-skilled, great to work with, very helpful and reasonable in his therapy plans. It has always been a real treat and benefit to be able to get Fernando assigned to my family members. Our interaction with the office staff has always been positive. I can say with total confidence that my mother's and brother's recovery once released from the hospital or from Encompass were all much better and quicker due to the wonderful care of Tilly, Fernando, and the nurses and supervisors at Around The Clock Home Care. If I ever need such care, I will make sure that I am cared for by Around the Clock!

Communication needs to improve towards the family concerning the care and their weekly evaluation of the patient's health and challenges. During our initial phone call there was trouble getting our phone numbers and names right. Within 6 weeks we had no updates to family members and we didn't feel included in the weekly care. When we called, we didn't get any response after leaving messages. Or they would call a different family member. We never had a sit down discussion with them and never knew who was in care. The facility also stated they didn't communicate with them either. I think this will change and improve since we did bring this up but for right now they have some growing to do . I believe what care they provided was good from what the facility could notice .

The hospice Dr. took him off the antibiotics. He had sepsis and I was originally told that he could stay on them. They sent a very small box of supplies. Gloves, the cheapest pads you could buy, and that was it. I had to go on Amazon and buy regular chucks (bed pads). I kept asking for a urinal, never got one had to go back to the hospital and ask them to give me one. When hospice arrived, they set up my husband with oxygen and did not put distilled water in it. He went three days breathing that with no water and no one told me that it was necessary. The nurse that came to take care of him was a joke. Offered no quality care whatsoever. When my husband became very ill, vomiting, shaking with a high fever, the nurse did not pick up on how sick he was and asked why he was shaking so bad. The digital thermometer he had did not register that he had a high fever. Five minutes after the nurse left my husband started vomiting I called him to come back and he refused. He told me to call the head nurse Arra. When I did, she said I'll be there in two hours. When I threatened to call 911 and she said she would be right over then sat in my driveway for a half hour. She became angry when I wouldn't let her give him a large amount of powerful drugs to put him out. I asked her to leave and called 911. When the paramedics he had a fever of 103. My husband passed away two weeks later in the hospital. Because of this experience I will never trust any hospice care in the future.
