I would give a"0" star if possible…read more We live hours away from my grandfather, so when he was rushed to the hospital for a procedure and then required to go into assisted living before being released to from the hospital, a family member found this place for him. At $2.2k/month we realized jet was not the top of the line when it comes to assisted living, but definitely expected more. The language barrier is the first obstacle, as hardly any of the people who work there speak English. There is also only 1 person working and 4 or more residents. Every time we went to visit there was one poor old man just sitting on a toilet unattended to. I think he was there with all doors open for an hour or longer during one visit. My grandfather was there for two weeks before we were able to go visit. The first thing he told us was he felt that he was having trouble catching his breath. We took him to urgent care that was one block away to find out that he had pneumonia! None of the staff took anytime to listen to his symptoms or to call his emergency contacts to have him tended to sooner. An 85 year old with pneumonia is a scary thing and needs to be tended to promptly!! The urgent care immediately emitted him to the ER! In addition to the above, the food is atrocious! One dinner was McDonalds cheeseburgers!!! My grandfather has high blood pressure!! Nowhere is McDonalds on an approved diet for someone with high blood pressure and cholesterol!! My grandfather is dying now in the hospital from pneumonia and congestive heart failure and we were forced to end his residency rather abruptly from Calloway only to get an aggressive call from the owners informing us that we owe over $2.2k!!! Pound sand!! Send my dying 85 year old to collections, as you'll never get another penny from us!!

It was very very unprofessionally run.. they didn't even have a nurse (RN) who was the only person who can give meds out! The director told me that she had gotten busy & was unable to order my meds from Pharmacy.. I told her in all my experience (worked 30 yrs as a nurse) I had the sense enough to know she was telling me BS.. I had been there all those hrs waiting for my IV antibiotics & at 7:00pm on a Friday she wasn't getting it anytime soon. Other patients/residents spoke with me & informed me of all the difficulties they were going through having no family to assist them.. Let me mention that I'm 70yrs, I'm a cancer pt & went in due to needing daily IV antibiotics for a very serious infection. Unfortunately being a widow with grown children with their own families to help I didn't want them to have extra burden. Not only that but they were gracious enough to give me dinner BUT.. oh my goodness they gave me a bowl of water down tomato soup, a glass of prune juice & a cupcake! Us older or sick patients need a high protein diet!! Not this terrible food. Look I'm not being sarcastic or picky I came from a very poor Hispanic family, raised on homemade tortillas, beans, rice & Jesus Christ .. sometimes life throws us a curve in life.. but we don't have to stay bent from that curve, please take care of your loved ones & if they go into these types of facilities please ask questions & by ALL means take a second of your time to check in on them..NOT call the facility.. After I left I have since made a complaint with I had READ a few reviews (I think might have been bogus) that said it was a nice place.. OK.. read this section carefully! The pictures posted on brochures & on-line are not necessary accurate, you need to understand this as another fact California laws a very lax & us disabled & seniors are NOT protected., this will NOT change until we take our concerns to Congress which is another thing I'm going to work on.
