My first treatment took a long time (about an hour) because they had to do a consultation, Xrays etc. But when I went back today I was in and out very quickly (like 15 minutes). I think it's pretty cool that their tables start standing and lower you down - I'd never seen that before, and though I've never had trouble just like... getting on the table myself, why not be fancy. While I was waiting today they had me lay on a table with wheels that run up and down your back and basically tenderize you before you get adjusted. You get to stare at ceiling tiles that have whimsical fish and it was as excellent as it sounds. The doctor warned that he is not a "gentle" adjuster and he does what he needs to do to be effective. I wasn't too worried about it and nothing he did really hurt. And I definitely felt better after. Oh and the whole office smells like lavender... Delightful.

The first night I…read morearrived after-hours, frazzled and heart beating in my chest, she coldly opened the doors for me when the automatic opener didn't work, then coldly marched down the long corridors in silence- obviously annoyed that she had to leave her desk. I have caught her gossiping negatively with other staff members who, though mostly lovely, seem intimidated and unduly influenced by her military style meanness. There is very little family support at the Waterford facility (grief counseling once a month) and adding an unwelcoming, unkind personality to the mix during an already stressful and surreal experience is too much to deal with. There's a reason for the saying ''one bad apple spoils the bunch.'' She seems to be a ringleader... and her energy is a downer.
