My open faced chili burger and onion rings were excellent and not over served. My husband had the chicken fried steak special. The gravy was super yummy and the steak tender. Others in our party ordered bacon & eggs. The bacon is SUPER yummy! We would definitely return. Service was friendly and quick, but not so quick that we suspected microwave use. The ambiance is diner style in a caboose and comfortable. The restroom was very clean. This is out in a small town and worth going out of your way to dine there!!!!

Unfortunately, this visit felt more like convenience than cooking. The mashed potatoes, corn, and even the roll have been reheated in a microwave. I also watched a meatloaf dinner taken out of the microwave and then returned into it. I hope it wasnt served later. The country-fried chicken tasted and looked like a frozen, pre-made product rather than something freshly prepared. I say this with confidence as the server/cook just grabbed it out a drawer and threw it in fryer. The gravy had the most flavor on the plate, although it tasted like a standard mix rather than house-made. The rest of the meal was bland and forgettable. The customer service wasn't rude, but it felt robotic--there was very little warmth, personality, or the kind of hospitality that makes a neighborhood diner special. I came hoping for a home-cooked meal and that nostalgic diner charm. Instead, I left wishing more restaurants would bring back the pride, care, and personal touch that once defined the diner experience

Lindsay waited on us and was delightful. We ordered Coronas, Alligator Bites to start! Spicy and delicious. The special bread with dipping oil was to die for. The Reuben Sandwich was perfect! The Cobb salad with grilled chicken was spectacular. And as others have said before, the Chicken Fried Steak was the best we ever had in our life. Huge portions all around! Plenty of leftovers for today's meals. The owner was as sweet as honey. And her son, the chef, is very talented and nice as could be. Perfect way to celebrate our 37th year anniversary! My gosh, I just can't say enough great things about the ambience, service, and food!

I really liked the decor and look of the place inside. The service was prompt, and the wait staff was very attentive and friendly. Good was good as well. I had the ribbon cut fries to satisfy a fried food craving. I also had the Santa Fe salad. The chicken was a little dry and there were a ton of fried tortillas that visually covered the whole salad so you couldn't see what was underneath. However, the taste was good. I'd definitely stop again.

Thankfully, Yelp absolutely came through clutch (as it usually does) and led us to Our Breakfast Place. We intentionally tried to time things to beat the post-church crowd and I think we mostly succeeded... though there was still a little bit of a wait. Thankfully, this place is absolutely worth the wait! The restaurant was bustling and busy but still had a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere. The menu was extensive with tons of tempting breakfast options, the prices were very reasonable to me, and the service was excellent from start to finish. Our waitress was so kind and friendly and even the women seated nearby struck up conversation with us while we waited for our food. It just had that warm, community-oriented breakfast spot vibe. I ordered the blueberry lemon pancakes which were a seasonal special and wow, they were fantastic. Sweet but not overly so, fluffy, flavorful, and the combo also came with an egg and I chose two slices of bacon. All delicious and certainly plenty filling. The coffee was strong too, which I greatly appreciated. All in all, this was a five-star breakfast experience and the kind of local spot I love discovering while traveling. If I'm ever back in Waco, I'd happily return.

Best of all, they make their own in-house Gluten Free pancakes and serve Arnold Palmer's with a carafe for at the table refills. I love this place!
