As a young African…read moreCanadian female I feel that I was treated poorly by this establishment which happened to be owned by an older white gentlemen who thought he could speak/treat me any way he felt like. I will not be returning to this place as long as I shall need a vehicle service and I recommend that you do not either. I went to this establishment about a year ago for the emission and safety check. In expecting to be in and out for about $120,it turned out that I would actually need to make a few repairs, change tires etc. which put me at about $1800. I was disappointed as I had just got the used vehicle and all the issues had been more than I bargained for. However, Garry was very kind and honest in his assessment. All of that changed when I went back a year later and interacted with what I believed to be his father Murray who also works there. Earlier in that day I needed to get another inspection from active green and ross so that I could transfer my ownership for my insurance. Unfortunately my regular mechanic was away on vacation so I went there for convenience, after the inspection they told me that I would need 1,934.22 in modifications to pass a car that I have had absolutely zero faults with. Because I knew my regular mechanic would not quote anything so outrageous I had to pay $140 for nothing but wasted time. Afterwards I immediately called back my insurance advisor and let her know what had happened and that I would not have 2 grand to spend unnecessarily on a car that functions perfectly as I had just done a safety one year prior! She then let me know that if I could prove that I had gotten it just a shy of a year ago (less than three years ago to be exact) she would allow the insurance policy to continue at my current rate. With that information I returned to Clark's Auto Service to get a copy of the proof of inspection. Murry was far from pleasant and at first tried to tell me that I had never gotten the safety done there. Because if I go somewhere and spent over 1500 dollars I would remember I urged him to check his records and look again. He then found the proof in his a receipt-like book. At that point when he noticed that I was not charged for the safety itself (which I am told if about $10 -reference Active Green and Ross for that price) he started to get short with me as if it was my fault that I didn't pay. I then reminded him of the other 1800 dollars I had spent as his establishment for the other repairs I had done and he proceeded to make a comment about how it was probably because I couldn't afford what he was originally charging. At this point Murray became rude and disrespectful, not letting me finish any sentence, talking over me, and disregarding what I was saying. I continued to ask him for a copy of the proof that I had gotten the inspection done for my insurance. He said he could not that because I couldn't remove government property. [I called the ministry of transportation and they advised me that as long as the paper in question is pertaining to MY vehicle which is in MY name then there is no law and or rule stating that I can't get proof of it.] Any way he gave me a print out of the invoice that stated I had gotten a safety but not if I passed or failed on a piece of paper that I could have printed at home. I knew it would not be acceptable with my insurance company and I let him know that. At that point I also suggested that if he could not do that than a photo that I could send her instead would suffice. But he kept saying that he doesn't know where it would be going. When he made that remark I felt as though maybe he thought I would be doing something fraudulent with the paper, so I asked him if that was true. He continued to interrupt and talk over me and ignore the question. At that point I had made many references to how he was being rude and disrespectful and his lack of kindness was duly noted. Out of frustration of having to pay $140 earlier for nothing and the way he was treating me as a customer I let him know how he was behaving as if it was not apparent. AT NO POINT DID I RECIPROCATE HIS RUDE OR DISRESPECTFUL BEHAVIOUR.I NEVER RAISED MY VOICE OR SPOKE ILL TOWARDS HIM. WHEN HE WOULD INTERUPT ME I WOULD WAIT FOR HIM TO FINIFHS AND TRY AGAIN. He told me to leave and when I asked him why, when I had gotten services done AND SPENT GOOD HARD EARNED MONEY there and I was looking for his support with some evidence my insurance wanted HE CALLED THE POLICE. Shocked and frustrated I waited there for them to arrive because I was ABSOLUTLEY certain I had done nothing wrong.I also wasn't sure if leaving would make me appear guilty. At this point I was angry and crying because I couldn't believe he would behave in such a despicable way and then call the police on ME. The one who was even keeled during the whole interaction. I wasn't in any trouble but WOW never again and I will tell EVER1

Buyer Beware - Especially at Sixth Gear Motors! I just…read morepurchased a used car for my daughter who is about to start university this year. Unfortunately, I bought it from Sixth Gear Motors in Ajax. Mario Nabil, the salesman was pleasant to deal with during the sale. We went to pick up the car and all was still good. Mario tried to sell us an extended warranty as the car only came with a 30 day safety warranty. We declined. We paid the bill and as my daughter was getting into her new car, Mario told us that she needed to buy new tires immediately because the car only came with snow tires and they would be ruined if she drove on them in the summer (the first surprise!). I expressed surprise and disappointment but, thankfully, Mario quickly offered to get me an excellent deal on tires. I knew we needed snow tires for the winter so it really was no big deal. Mario assured me he would look into it immediately and call me within a couple of days with options. Mario never called. No great deal was ever offered. When I called him to ask about it, he didn't seem to have any recollection of selling us the car. Two days after leaving with the car, my daughter was flagged down by a passing car on the highway because she had a flat tire. She stopped and filled it and every other day had to refill it again. I called Mario to inform him of the flat tire problem. I asked if they would repair it for her and he said they would. My daughter brought the tire in and this time had the pleasure of dealing with Ramiz Abdelmasih, who we were informed owned the dealership. Ramiz checked the tire, determined it was not punctured and informed my daughter that they would not fix it for her because, according to him, a flat tire is not a safety issue. As such it is not covered by the 30 day warranty (surprise number 2!). She said Ramiz was very degrading and she felt like he only refused to fix it because he could stand up to any teen age girl. She left sobbing. I called Ramiz because I thought there had to be a misunderstanding. Unfortunately, Ramiz held his ground. He told me that a flat tire is not a safety issue so it is not covered. I tried to argue that because the tire was not damaged, it must be a leak around the rim. Ramiz told me that any shop could fix it for $20. If I had it fixed, he would send me $20 but otherwise, it wasn't his problem. Now, a major concern! Sixth Gear did the safety inspection on my daughter's car. If a flat tire is not a safety concern to them, how many other things did they overlook because they are not safety concerns, at least in their opinion. I now have no faith in the car we bought and will bring it to a respectable shop for an inspection. I would never deal with Sixth Gear Motors again and highly recommend who ever reads this doesn't. These people are responsible for the stereotype used car salesmen are often saddled with. Not only are they dishonest, they fail in every aspect of customer service. It is bad enough getting screwed, it is much worse when they laugh in your face when you catch them! Hopefully this review will save someone from the disappointment I endured dealing with Sixth Gear Motors!
