We ordered delivery, two chicken shawarma wraps, two orders of grape leaves, and one order of veggie plate that included falafel, hummus, tabouli, baba ghanough. Let me make this precise and brief: The grape leaves were not freshly made, they were out of a can; hummus had a very strange taste, unknown, overly salted, tabouli was old tasting, not fresh. Shawarma should have a special taste and seasoning, you cannot just put meat on a roaster/skewer and Call it shawarma, sadly, this is not the ethnic shawarma. If you know never had the experience of tasting the real ethnic middle eastern food, then, you might think what you are eating at SemSem is the real thing. Admittedly, I know very little about Mediterranean food. I was introduces to this restaurant by a friend who seeks out healthy alternative, fast service food. All I can day is WOW! This is my fourth time having food from Sem Sem and I can tell you that the food is fresh, extremely flavorful, healthy, large proportioned and fast. My favorite thing to do is to create a Bowl. Once you choose your base of either rice, hummus, or lettuce, you follow up with your choice of protein ranging from steak, chicken and other choices but I usually go with the steak. On top of that there is a large variety of different specialty salads, fresh veggies, falafels ect. Too it off with a sauce ranging from a mild garlic or a white sauce (kind of like a mild ranch) or spicier choices. The restaurant is bright, clean, cheerful and has a very happy vibe. They also use Uber Eats for delivery. Excellent choice and a great alternative to burgers. I should mention the price is no more than your typical burger lunch would be. read more

On a whim (with help from yelp) we went to Sem Sem. Very impressed. It is similar to a Chipotle, but with Chicken schwarma as the meat (among other options), and humus and jerusalem salads for your bowl or wrap or pita. The staff was helpful, friendly, and supportive for a couple of mediterraneal novices. We enjoyed the quality and flavor of the food and plan to return soon. (Note - favorites were the falafela, humus, and the spicy basmati rice!). I rate it five stars, not because I believe this is the best food we ever had (afterall I am not that experienced with mediterranean). The chicken and steak are on a rotisserie spit and get shaved off. Pick ur pit, or wrap, etc. You then add ur sides, hummus, baba ghanoush,etc and then veggies.
