Elevator was creaking and I worried a little every time I used from/to 3rd floor. Stayed 2 nights, never saw desk staff (? Maybe don't have). A/C was not dependable so warm. No courtesy housekeeping 1st night to empty trash, make beds, straighten up. I'm on board for not changing sheets, using same towels during visit (they're very conscious about recycling ), but just to tidy up room would've nice. Tried calling about A/C, etc but was out all day & after 5:00, you're on your own (!). Better than a youth hostel, but not like a nice hotel (chain) either.

Because of the wifi issue and because she told me I could use it outside near the lobby I asked for a refund so I could look somewhere else. They later charged me again 2 weeks later and when I called the lady denied it and said she refunded me but I still had the charge. She yelled at me and told me she couldn't talk because she had to go to the hospital.

He was very, very timely, picking up my vehicle and dropping it off within minutes of his estimated times. Incredible! He made it clear he was always available and I was welcome to call him at any time, but I never needed to call because he made it from the east coast of North Carolina to Los Angeles in 6 days! Due to my travel changes and his speedy delivery, I was not able to meet him for pick-up, so my mother had to meet him. My car is a stick shift and my mother does not know how to drive it, so Bruce drove his truck as close as possible to my mother's house and drove my car into the driveway himself, alleviating my mom from probably destroying my clutch. This type of service is truly appreciated and worth paying a little extra for (even though their price was within ~$50 of other companies)! I will definitely be using this company (and probably trying to request Bruce) in the future. Highly recommend!!

A very nice facility sited along a beautiful lake. Large ballroom, pool room, card playing…read moretables/area, pottery studio, meeting rooms, gym, indoor pool and outdoor pool, internet computers and a lounge area with coffee bar. Staff and maintenance people keep the place clean, functional and tidy. So why only 3-stars? The facility is not meeting the demand of the ever-growing community. There is a site and plan to put in a second amenity center, but the construction date is continually pushed back. When an activity is announced that required reservations &/or tickets it is sold out immediately. Recently tickets for an upcoming play were sold in two increments. People lined by hours before the noon start. first come, first served those people got a number and were seated in order in the ballroom. Then, one at a time, in numerical order, each seated person came forward to purchase up to four tickets. This proceeded until all the 720 tickets for fours shows of the play were sold. Many who had a number could not get tickets. The Line Dancing group is popular so they recently announced a 30-minute introduction session for those thinking that they might want to try line dancing. Over 250 people turned out, literally packing the ballroom. It was very crowded and much bumping around took place. In January the Computer Club announced a session on IPads and IPhones. It was just after the holiday period, so there were at least 100 people who showed up, many with their IPads & Iphones still in the original boxes. The room in the Lake House became standing room only. The pottery studio was used for a group meeting in February and here were potters working with clay at the same time. The Retired Military group uses the golf course cafe when available as the demand for meeting rooms has become too much for the Lake House to accommodate. And so it goes, driven by inadequate facility space for the ever-growing number of new residents. Carolina Lakes is a great place to be if you are over age 55. Demand is so high that lots are sold as soon as areas are opened. And we baby boomers are looking to retire for the next 15 years or so. Just recently Wentworth Property Management and Pulte Builders put out that the new center would be built when the build-out is complete. Oh! Not good news for those of us living here as Pulte just opened up a new area, Turkey Point, and it will be quite some time before that is built out. If that area is included in the build out, it will be years to go before the additional activity center comes about. Hope lies with the original Carolina Lakes plan as there are three other areas being built within the original Carolina Lakes, so we hope that this will constitute the defined area for meeting the complete build-out. If so, maybe an additional facility in a year of so. Don't get me wrong. Sun City Carolina Lakes is wonderful in many ways, but it needs facilities and space to accommodate clubs and activities for the residents. It is a great place to live and enjoy life...when you can get tickets or space to do so.
