I love that they have reclining seats. I do wish they reclined a bit more but it's better than regular seating. It's a small theatre but it beats going all the way to Fresno and it's a little cheaper. Not too expensive and easy to get tickets and print when you get there. read more

I went with my girlfriend and her son, an her friend and son, and the theater we were in had no one at all except 2 others which were a couple, my step son hit the ladies chair on accident and we said sorry she said it was fine, then our son didn't like the movies so we gave him our phone and the couple complained about the phone being too loud, so we left and didn't get a refund because they got theirs already. read more

Cool spot to get a movie in locally with the kids or with your bigger older kid (if you know what I mean). Prices are reasonable and fit the budget especially on Tightwad Tuesdays. Been coming to this theatre on and off for the last 4 years. Great place to go to avoid the large crowds. Staff has always been friendly and courteous. They recently renovated the seating to recliners and that has made a huge difference as well. They also offer online ticket buying which is also a plus. They only thing I wish they had would be a rewards program. All In all this is a great theatre. read more

Okay theatre, always good seats and staff is friendly. I've been going to this theatre when I am not in the mood to drive to Fresno to my favorite theatre in River Park the Edwards. It is a nice, clean tidy theatre with everything you need. Snacks are theater high price but fair, nothing bad. I don't really complain on prices because if you on a budget then improvise. Start by heading to the nearest gas station and take some sweets in your pocket and BOOM! Problem solved. The screen is good and the sound is fair, it's no IMAX or Dolby Digital quality but it does the job and is loud enough. The great thing is not rat-pack all the time, so you will get great seats depending on the day. Sometimes it gets fully packed because the High School kids but that's in every town. It's a good theatre and I will return. I rate this place 3.5 read more

This is an excellent theater & very comfortable. We were on time, got the refreshments, proceeded to get our prepaid, reserved seats, in TOTAL darkness while upcoming trailers were being shown at an incredibly loud volume! We were out to see the Christian film, "Jesus Revolution" and the many trailers were all about everything, blood & guts demonic was being previewed and we found it offensive and intentional! The full house, obviously filled with many Christians did not HAVE to sit through so many loud metal music and demons, monsters, axe killings, many of us did not care to see. Most never seen such a thing! As the trailers were unusually loud, they surely turned the actual volume of the entire feature movie. This, I believe was ALSO, entirely intentional. The feature show was EXCELLENT. I'm still in tears. Not too many of us will go to these "upcoming attractions" and I'm certain there were more suitable trailers could have been shown to 90% Evangelical audiences, I think and nobody in that packed room had any intention of seeing ANY of those trailers! If nothing else, it was inappropriate and disrespectful to many. I've never been to a more comfortable show with clean floors and electric recliner chairs. Very nice touch. Thanks! read more

This has been a family favorite of ours for a very long time. When my family and I go out for a movie and dinner, we often like to find quiet locations that aren't filled to the brim with traffic and noise. This cinema is located in an area that not only provides a clean, safe and quiet movie experience but has the added benefit of being near great family food establishments to choose from. Their employees have always treated us well and are fast and efficient. The theater itself is always clean, there is always plenty of space for parking, the selection of food is wide and while the prices are a bit high, they're definitely more reasonable than other bigger competitors. Their selection of movies is usually small but we've never had an issue finding a movie that was right for our family. The viewing rooms are comfortable in size with sufficient seating. We've never had an issue finding good seats to accommodate our family and any friends that have come with us. Their restrooms are also very clean and well kept which is always a plus. read more

I went for the first time on Sunday. There were probably 10 people watching the new matinee movie we went to watch. I loved it. There were no lines at all. The workers were very friendly and the popcorn was about two dollars less than at other theaters. The rest rooms were clean too. I will definitely be back. read more

We like the updates they done in the past few years. today I took my young children to see a pg carton movie. we sit down get both situated and just as they're loaded with their food and drink in lap a trailer for the Bullet Train movie comes on. It is not yet rated but I'll be shocked if it isn't R. the violence and language used in the trailer was so inappropriate for a PG movie. I had to quickly cover my kids eyes. I went out and asked how the trailers are picked and was told the managers choose. I asked to speak to him, his response was oh no was it on the list? I'll take it off. he didn't seem too care too much. very inappropriate and a bit traumatizing for a 5 and 10 year old child to watch when they're not exposed to violence like that. read more

Nice, clean and comfortable, newly updated. Only giving 4 stars because the volume was painfully loud. I know movie theaters are supposed to be loud but this was over the top and really hurt our ears. There is also almost no lighting before the previews start and it's very dark and hard to find your seats. read more

Every thing about this place is good but, the seats aren't comfortable enough for a whole movie

On Sayuaday, July 31st, 2021 I and my grandson decided to watch the 9:20 PM showing of Space Jam. We approached the window and requested two tickets. One for myself (a senior) and one for my 14 year old grandson. The teenage boy in the booth slam the tickets down and I asked if he heard that I wanted my senior discount. The reply was "yeah that's what those two tickets were" Sunday morning while doing my month-in bank concilation I notice the young teenager who waited on us charge me twice the amount. I called and talked to an obvious teenager girl who identified herself as "night Manager. She told me I would get a "E-mail return" if I came down with my receipt, I asked her to explain what a E-mail return was but she could not explain herself. I asked to talk to her supervisor. She stated he was not available and that he'd be in at 9 AM Monday morning. After calling all day I was able to contact this David who identified himself as the night manager. He too was an obvious teen. He was extremly rude, could not or would not follow a conversation and refused to help me and then hung up on me. I need my 17 dollars back. read more

My Overall Rating~ 4.5 The Staff~ Rating 4.5~ The staff are normal teenagers... But sometimes they don't know what they're doing you'll say something and they'll say "what?" or "huh?" but then again they're just teenagers, and they are doing they're job. The Seating~Rating 3.5~ The seating is totally fine AS LONG as you don't go on the day the movie comes out. I went to see "Suicide Squad" on the day it came out and it was HORRIBLE I had to sit in the front row (which is really close so I couldn't see the whole screen). Snacks~ Rating 4.5~ The snacks are great. The popcorn is great. The only problem is the snacks are a little pricey, so I recommend to go to the nearest drug store or liquor locker and get your candy for cheaper. This theater has seen better days. It is quite run down and dirty. No one bothered to clean the theater between movie showings, there are cups still in the cup holders and trash on the floor. I live here in Selma, so I'm very thankful for this theatre. My husband and I would rather stay "home" than go all the way to Visalia or Fresno, so we come here a lot. I'm curious about jobs here, what are the hours usually for part time jobs and how much do they pay?

I am only giving it 4 stars because it is older. The bathrooms are always clean and there are enough of them. I can jump in my car and catch a movie. The employees will tell me how much my items cost and how much money I have left on my card. The popcorn is great and the prices are not as high as other theatres. And I do not have to fight the traffic in Fresno. I like that it is normally not crowded in the afternoon and the patrons still have that small town respect during the movie...generally. I did see the previous complaints about sticky floors and the seats, however they have been cleaned and I have not experienced sticky floors lately. I also like that there is ample parking and the attendants are really respectful and courteous. read more

First thing selected movies on Tuesday for $ 5.00 night. Which is fine but we go on Tuesday's quite often never had this issue. Then in the theater it smelled and the rudest people with cell phone ringing flashing and no staff help. Then ask for a manager tell her about all our issues and was just venting she was so very Unprofessional it was just unbelievable. Worst theater in the valley and same with the staff. The management sucks they don't honor there online ticketing so don't ever buy online. It's small dirty and if you try to contact them online they won't respond. I rather travel to a Fresno theater then to ever go to Selma. Bought a marathon ticket online it said all the old movies would be playing along with the newest movie then got to the theater and the newest movie wasn't included and they did not honor my online purchase. The selma cinema is great. I consider myself to be a regular here, and am always looking forward to the next movie i get to see. Selma has it's ups and downs, but theres enough positives here to counteract the negative. Let's start with the positives. First of all, they have good service overall, some people are better than others. There are two really handsome men working there, especially the blonde dreamy one. It is always a treat going in just because of them ;) LOL LOL . Second, is the popcorn. There is something about the popcorn at selma cinema that just seems so authentic. The popcorn is layered with butter and you are given the choice of extra seasoning to put on top. Personally, I choose caramel, It's so good!. Third, is the small town, family friendly environment that they host. Lastly, the theater is usually not too packed. Unlike Fresno, the theater is usually at a pretty consistently comfortable level to enjoy a movie. I bring my 3 kids all the time and we rarely have problems finding seats together. Now on to the negatives... First is the seating, I once attempted to watch two movies back to back on their five dollar tuesdays and regretted it the next day. The seats are worn out, and losing comfort as time passes. C'mon Selma Theater, let's go out and get some new seats. Secondly, the uniforms. I like what they're trying to do, the old feel of the "theater," It just isn't working. I would like to think that times have changed, its time to be modern and update. However, they did wear black t-shirts for a short time and it looked very nice. Maybe the theater could use something more formal like a polo shirt? The faded, dusty, and dirty uniforms just are no longer able to adapt to the times. Speaking of updating, the menu also needs some updating. It would be nice to see some computerized menus and maybe movie times on there, rather than the old tattered red board they have there with papers. Let's make this aesthetically pleasing, let's make this the "THEATER." Next, we have the service. Although, i said it was great, there are a few workers there that really are not helpful. This sounds bad, but try to ask the guys for help more than the girls, especially jackie. The only other complaint I would have is that the floors of the theaters are always sticky. It really doesn't inconvenience or bother me, but is just gross to think about. Overall, I would give selma a 8/10. Go here if you want to have a good movie experience without fresno prices. read more
