There really isn't anything else like it ....... A fair in a very small community that's quite literally in the center of the middle of the middle of no where! But what an experience first off it feels good to go somewhere and not feel poached for ever penny you have Bc it's free to get in. The food is fun Bc there aren't toothless venders selling stale corn dogs and nachos in glowing huts but there are toothless locals selling unpronounceable named foods in a food court barn!!! Lol I'm kidding they weren't all local. It's fun a lot of fun you can eat watch ppl and listen to beautiful live music though it was very busy and hectic time seems to slow down for at least for a little while. I will say this is relation to the food prices the ride prices are high but that a fair for you

Yearly thing!! This fair is just the right size and food is good. NO gate fee! What a fair that is free to get in and available parking that is free too! Can't beat that. Cute little farmers and cowboys fair! My kids love it here and not as crowded as other fairs.

Great food, friendly people, perfect weather!

It's nice to see the Filipino youth & locals participate in this festivity, so they can learn and understand the Filipino culture/heritage. The cultural dances continue to stay the same and passed down from generations. I remember participating in the cultural dances and performing on stage. It definitely feels like yesterday. I'm happy to know that a little bit of my culture is being celebrated. This event happens every year on the last weekend of July. The festivities takes off with the adobo cook off on Friday evening while everyone else is setting up their booths. I'm guilty to have NEVER attended this part of the event. I hope one day I'll be able to check it out. The following day the festivities kick off with the parade downtown Delano usually at 10am and back to Cecil Park for the festivities. They usually have tents with Filipino food and halo-halo as well as other booths. I usually grab food from the Thai food tent. I know it's a Filipino festival then why buy Thai food haha. I eat Filipino food almost everyday and that Thai food stand has been part of Filipino weekend for as long as I can remember. They also have bounce houses for the kids, a train ride and even rock climbing. There's also a designated area for 21yr olds and over to grab a drink. End of July is always super hot and usually the weather is over 100°, so if you're not used to that temperature then I wish you the best of luck. Shade usually helps; however, if you're not from here then you should know that we have dry heat. Wind doesn't usually blow a whole lot, so you're literally sitting in the heat under the shade. Bring lots of water and possible a tent or umbrella to stay cool. Or be like me and come extra early or when it's almost over haha, but then you'll miss all the cool entertainment. I don't think you should miss it because the kids practiced all summer to get their dance down. The park is open to the public with no admission fee. They have a basketball tournament going down across the street at Delano HS and they have the Bingo going too. Those are two ways to stay cool. I recently found out they have a tennis tournament going also, so look out for that. Prior to the festival they usually post the pageants on their website for Tiny Tots, Miss Philippine Weekend, Mrs. & Mr. Philippine Weekend. You should check it out to support our local event.

The St. George Greek Orthodox Church always hosts this annual food festival and I trust the proceeds from the event go to help the church and the local Greek community. Most of the dishes range in price between $3 for many desserts, to $4 to $12 for most savory items individually. I thought it was ridiculous to charge $4 for the rice pilaf, which was actually only a dollar less than the roast chicken, and they gave me so little too. The chicken/pork souvlaki was very tasty but one tiny skewer was hardly worth the $7. I also believe I was grossly overcharged unless the prices went up and the prices listed on the pamphlet were outdated. This is very unlikely, however, since I came on the first night of the festival. Many of the volunteers for the event, many of them were very young, were terribly unhelpful, and not prepared at all to answer even the most basic questions (e.g., the type of meat and ingredients in the dish they were serving, where you could purchase drinks, where the restroom was, etc.). BEST BETS: lamb shank, spanakopita, moussaka, roast chicken, Greek salad, walnut baklava, saragli - pistachio, and baklava sundae.

The people were very…read morenice at all booths, but their hands were tied to the disorganization and lack of answers. The food was a 1.5 out of 5 stars. The star of the a la carte platter (see picture) was the dolmas. But the uncooked rice pilaf chunks and gamey lamb shank were atrocious. The mocha frappe is sadly misleading with no blending of the drink. Sad tasting made worse with Hershey (low quality) chocolate used in a latte that did not use quality beans for the espresso. Of the aforementioned complaints, they sold hummus, but somehow not a La carte. And it was in a 2oz. Container, along with 3 pieces of cheese, pita, cucumber sauce, and olives do 12 freaking dollars. So we left a Greek festival empty-handed of the most desired item, hummus. I am quite disappointed what is supposed to be a "jolly" affair. For context, we visited between 2-4pm on Saturday.
