It's just an excuse to make you pay an excessive entry fee for mediocre beer and food. Save your money and go to a craft brew house instead, you'll have better food, drink and customer service. I asked for my money back, wasn't heard out on my complaint but rather forced to stand awkwardly to the side until less than half my entry fee was stuffed into my hand with a this is all I can do mumbled at me. They don't provide as advertised and I'm the one who pays for it. Customer service is terrible. Go to a real Oktoberfest and leave this for the bored who need an excuse to wear lederhosen and take your money. My guess is the 5 star reviews are from the organizers themselves

Lines were as long as a ride in Disneyland. Only 2 places to get food, lines were just as long. Lines everywhere, nothing labeled, people who had wristbands were in line for beer and they didn't have tickets. Crowded, and crammed into a really small space. At some point when we were done with our food, we were looking for a garbage can my friend laughed and said, "There's probably a line for that". LOL. I overheard someone ask someone else where the garbage can was, and they responded "good luck". I heard complaints all over the place and yeah it was pretty badly organized. If they expanded, got rid of the $17 entrance fee, which Campbell Oktoberfest doesn't have and provided more booths for beer and food along with trash cans, then MAYBE I would go again. But our group won't and we can cross this one off our list and label it NEVER AGAIN.

Glad I did come as it was a good day out despite not being a Beer drinker. I know.. wrong place to be, right? Parking was easy to find at the nearby school where a bus shuttle was provided to take everybody to the event which was nice - my first time ever on a school bus! So that was an experience. Getting into the event was easy and painless with just one quick bag and ID check and an exchange of a wrist band and off you go! Whole Foods were waiting on hand to give out sample glasses which were a quite sizable 3oz. Later we discovered that most of the vendors actually filled the way over 3oz line, Happy days! The event was quite a big space with Food trucks and other food vendors in one corner, lawn games down the far end and the stage surrounded by all of the Beer tents. Portable toilet's were also tucked away to the side if you dare venture into them. I had no choice but use one just an hour into the event and they were already pretty nasty with no tissues (lucky I keep some in my bag!). Most of the drinks on offer were more like Lager than Beer or Ale but interesting nonetheless.. there was one Honey one which I actually quite liked in small amounts. We saw two bands play while we were there - the first was good and got the crowd going but the second - a 13 or so member Michael Jackson Tribute band were terrible. Out of time and tune, it was probably about half way through their set my husband and I decided it was time to leave and look for some local food to soak up the alcohol.

Although it seemed like some were over-served, a majority of the attendees were awesome South Bay/SF people who truly enjoyed drinking beer and being social. We were also lucky enough to have a booth in the shade so we didn't get too hot or sunburned. And we stayed the entire time! Good times - I hope that everyone else who attended had fun :)

Well this was a big disapointment. First of all tokens, tokens for EVERYTHING. While the concept seems simple, it still wasn't proven to be beneficial as many people pawned off their unused tokens to everyone including our group, because we really didn't want anything else and there are absolutley NO REFUNDS on tokens. So $20 for 7 tokens, 3 gets you calamari, 3 gets you clam chowder, 1 gets your fries, soda etc. and 2 gets you margaritas/wine. It would have been all worth it IF the food was good. It wasn't, the clam chowder was really watered down, tasted like it came from a can and the calamari didn't taste fresh but extremely fishy. Not the standards I know, as we love the wharf and go to The Grotto all the time! We love their clam chowder! Crabby Jims also has great clam chowder and Albolennettis has amazing calamari where you can choose buffalo style or garlic. Anyways we asked what restaurant this came from and they couldn't say, and they said that it all came from the Wharf. Yeah right. We ended up walking down sampling clam chowder from our favs, and it was so delicious, not at ALL like the garbage from the festival. One thing that seemed interesting was the clam chowder ice cream, a little sweet a little salty and definatley something to try. I don't think it was worth 2 tokens because the scoop was so small. Anyhoo, we came with a party of 6 and we were all disapointed and agreed that anything going on at the plaza is bust.

There's really only the main street that has food with strawberries in it like the strawberry tacos, strawberry tamales, strawberry pizza, etc. The rest of the streets are just full of assorted vendors and other food trucks. I was expecting stands with strawberry jams, jellies, candy, I mean the possibilities are limitless. I tried the big 3, strawberry tacos, strawberry tamales, and strawberry pizza. The taco line was the longest one at the entire festival and they were mediocre. The tortilla is just colored pink and I could barely taste the strawberry in the salsa and the strawberry bits on top also didnt add any strawberry flavor so it was basically just a sub par street taco. You get 4 per order but really not worth the $20. The strawberry tamale was the star and the only thing I would ever consider going back for. It was piping hot with whipped cream and fresh strawberry on top. There's no filling but it's still packed with strawberry flavor and I went back to get another before leaving. The strawberry pizza was good, fresh made so there may be a bit of a wait. I just wish there was more strawberry pieces and jam on top because it looked pretty much like a slice of cheese pizza with a sprinkle of strawberry. Parking was $10 in the city plaza structure, I recommend going early to get a spot as it was pretty full when we left. Overall I wouldn't go back again but good to experience the one time.

This free and family friendly festival has been going on for the past 25 years and is one of the cities most popular events. They have a food court area with some amazing eats, a nice wine and beer garden for those looking to kick it up a notch, there are plenty of vendors, live entertainment, a quilt show in the Community Center and last but not least they have an amazing Custom & Classic Car Show. Not only that but they have plenty of rides for the children, pony rides, a petting zoo and the Wildlife Education & Rehabilitation Center (W.E.R.C.) which brings live birds, snakes and other reptiles to educate people about wildlife. I have been coming to this festival every year for the past 4-5 years or so and I really enjoy it, there are certain vendors here that I like and I'm only able to find them here such as Mansmith's BBQ, Hillbilly Tea and Scampi Shack just to name a few. I love everything that the festival has to offer, there are some really great vendors here, great food and I absolutely love the car show. The car show is not a little rinky dink one either, it takes up a large portion of the street down by the Community Center and I just love to see all the old timers showing off their cars, comparing and reminiscing about when they bought the cars. This is definitely a must if you live in the SJ, Morgan Hill or Gilroy area because it really is a great festival. This is by far my favorite festival here and I will keep coming every year. It's best to come early morning because by 11-12 it's starting to get crowded and it's usually really hot by that time.

We arrived early and wow there was surely a line to meet us. It was pretty smooth entering when you arrive when the event starts. Now let's taco bout how awesome this event was!? We opted to get the souvenir glass with the one margarita drink purchase. We walked up to the margarita stands trying to see the options. One of the bartenders came up to us and asked, do you want to try the best margarita you'll ever had!? I mean who could say no to that, we were like game on! I was a bit skeptical at first because that's a tall order to serve. Once I took my first sip, my eyes lit up and I immediately took in all the flavor. I have to say, that was the best margarita I've ever tasted! It was a perfect combination of sweetness, watermelon flavor, salt, and spicy mix. Big shout out to Red and Aria for fixing a mean delicious drink! I set out to find the best al pastor tacos and I sure found many. So many choices of wonderfully authentic Mexican food. But, it's all about the tacos! There were carne asada fries, al pastor galore, lobster tacos, and so much more! The event got more and more busy as the day went on so we appreciated coming when they opened. We got to go home with full happy bellies, souvenir t-shirts, and souvenir glasses. We'll definitely be back for years to come! Cheers to tacos and tequila!
