Cucamelons! So good!
Leni S.

The owner is the sweetest woman. She was so patient with my three young children (ages 2, 3 and 5). The kids loved the maze and picking cucamelons. We had a blast feeding leaves to the goats and the kids enjoyed the wonder horse swing. Pluots, apriums and cucamelons were all delicious and we can't wait to go back next year!

Rocky Oaks Goat Creamery - Big farm!

My family and I really had a good experience coming to This farm. It's my toddler's first pumpkin…read morepatch, and she was bananas about it. This cute farm had so much to do. We were first greeted by a man and he told us where to park. Super nice and let us know what to expect at our visit. They have lots of chickens! My baby and so many other kids there loved it. We then moved over to check out our four legged friends. There was a cow, 2 donkeys, and many goats! They aren't shy and will come up to the gate and meet you. Super neat for the little ones to see. The third area we checked out is their pumpkin patch. They have beautiful displays of pumpkins of all colors! Lots of decors for you and your family to take some pictures and capturing some beautiful memories. You can walk over to where the pumpkin grows and purchase some if you like. Support local! If you're looking for some freshly cut flowers to take with you home, you can go cut some at the farm. I believe they are $40 for a bucket! Finally, you can check out where they sell goat cheese from the goat milk they get from the farm. At the pumpkin patch you and your family can hitch a hay ride for free. By far my favorite pumpkin patch I've ever been too. When I went there were food trucks which made it convenient for family to grab some bites if they are hungry. Restroom was also open for attendees.

We won a pass though Yelp to checkout their pumpkin patch. The farm is pretty far away from me but…read moreworth the drive. Upon arrival an older gentleman stopped our car and explained to us all they had to offer. My son was extremely excited to find out they had baby goats, chickens and donkeys there. The farm is really big and everything is well spaced out if you're concerned about being around a lot of people. We checked out the animals first. The baby goats were so adorable. Then the chickens were in their own area and it was really cool to see their eggs too. After that we went to the barn area were they had vendors selling home made crafts and desserts. We got some yummy rice crispy treats that were really big for only 3 bucks. Outside of the barn they had little tractors set up for kids and a cute seating area to take your fall pumpkin patch pics. Beyond that area they had picnic tables and tons of other cute spots to take photos. We were informed you could pick a pumpkin from any of the areas they had pumpkins or actually go into the field to pick a pumpkin. I'd suggest wearing a good pair of shoes because it's a huge dirt area. My son went crazy and filled our cart with lots of little pumpkins. They are very reasonable priced too. We paid 22 dollars for 12 little pumpkins. Most places charge per pound but they actually have set prices. After picking pumpkins we went to get lunch from the food truck they had out there. First I had to stop and buy cheese from their farm. I got a Brie and some pomegranate jelly. It was a really great combination. The lady selling the cheese sells charcuterie boxes too. Not anything big but a snack size to have something while relaxing at the farm. We had a very fun filled day and appreciate Yelp for the pass. So if you're in the area definitely check out this farm. Oh yeah they're starting to have dinners there on certain nights too. It's Beautiful farm with lots to do.

Really disappointing experience at The Lavender Garden…read more The signs said OPEN, so I pulled off the highway specifically to try the lavender ice cream and a latte. When I got to the window, there was a sign saying to ring the doorbell for service. I rang it several times and waited outside in 105 degree heat for about 10 minutes, but no one came, so I eventually left. As I was driving away, I saw a golf cart pull up to the shop, so I actually turned around and came back. As I walked toward the window, I saw someone wearing a hat who appeared to see me and then walked away. No big deal, I figured I'd just ring the doorbell again. I could clearly hear it ringing through the window. Still, I was completely ignored. What bothered me wasn't even that they weren't serving. If someone had simply come to the window and said, "Sorry, we're not serving right now," I would've completely understood. Instead, the signs said open, the instructions said to ring for service, and I was left standing outside twice with no acknowledgment whatsoever. Really bummed because I genuinely wanted to try this place. I hope someone higher up at The Lavender Garden sees this and improves the process so other customers don't have the same experience.

As crazy as it may sound, I took my family on a day trip from Los Angeles to get some farm-fresh…read morepeaches choosing not to visit any of the Southern California farms because I wanted to get to the REAL source of the MOST delicious fruit - FRESNO! I selected Friesen Farm because of their informative website and helpfulness over the phone. Coming from a long ways, I was unsure if they would have any peaches left so I was very glad to reserve an order by phone. When I arrived 4 hours later (cell signal was solid the entire way so you can't get lost), a modest crowd was there and the Friesen team was hard at work fulfilling their orders. I saw them pack boxes of nectarines, peaches, and plums by hand (COVID precautions prevented us customers from selecting our own). While waiting, I saw my order (3 bags) were ready for pick up, but the irresistible smell of their fruit compelled me to purchase more (I had to make the 250 mile drive worthwhile, right?). The associate (owner?) who was helping me assured me that it was no trouble to return all the fruit from my previous order and pack the boxes I wanted to take home. While packing my boxes, we engaged in some small talk and she convinced me that I must return late February to see the blossoms. By the look in her eye, and the excitement in her voice I could tell that it was a must-see spectacle so I hope she remembers me when I come back in 2021! But something makes me think I will be back before then to get more fruit here. Now the fruit is indescribably delicious! I could use all the superlatives to describe how tasty they are, but it's exactly like when you say, "The pictures don't do it justice; you just have to be there to believe it." when sharing your vacation photos. They are juicy, fragrant, and sweet as candy. As she packed my boxes, she made sure there was a fair mixture of ready-to-eat fruit and some that would ripen in 2-4 days. That was such a thoughtful gesture that made me feel respected. It should be noted that none of the fruit I purchased were organic. Not sure if they offer any, but that might be something that matters to you. Also, I did not see any restrooms but they could be available. The parking lot was small (maybe 4-6 cars), and there's no gift shop or attractions here: You're here for the fruit. Lastly, I must say that their prices are VERY fair. If I was a Fresno or Tulare County resident, I would be a regular customer because I couldn't imagine paying more for less quality fruit from the supermarkets. I'm not comfortable sharing their prices here in this review because it may be market-dependent (and they don't list them on their website), so contact them and don't be surprised if you buy more than what you planning to. We all gotta support our local farmers!

Looking for a great place to get some tree ripened fruit?? This is it!! Located in Kingsburg…read more Definitely some of the best tree fruit around and at a great price. They have peaches, nectarines, plums, plots, and apricots. They have different varieties depending on what is in season. Call or check out their website to see what is available. This is definitely a place to pick up some fresh fruit. And I'd even say it's worth a drive to get some. If you are not close.
