Got the Fiesta Pistachios today from the Torrance City Farmers Market. Was looking to purchase roasted & UNSALTED pistachios but the lady (busy attending to other customers who wanted to sample the nut butters) said they don't have it. My purchase was for $14, not bad considering the organic, roasted & unsalted pistachios at Sprouts were for $12.49. The Fiesta pistachios have all the flavors they have available. Some featured flavors that I noticed after I have paid for mine were, garlic, jalapeño....I would've gotten the garlic for sure! Next time. Snacked on these on the way home & these were really good, packed with flavors, especially the garlic are pretty spicy. Will definitely try other flavors when I visit next tome. Hopefully the vendor would be more attentive.

The produce is locally grown and the selection is fairly extensive considering that it's a town of 3,500. The market is seasonal and ends mid-Oct each year. It's best to arrive near their opening time of 9am and booths are often packed up by 11am. You'll need to weave through the parking lot and past the soccer families to find the market but it's signed. BYOB (bag that is). I've always wanted to check out the Vineyard Farmer's Market and just never made it over. It was my lucky day as I snuck over while my fiancé was at his appointment. The Vineyard is beautiful and it was a lovely sunny day, just a bit windy. I was surprised at all the vibrant and quality produce offered. There were other vendors selling honey, flowers, food, coffee - even La Boulangerie bakery from Fig Garden had a booth! I honestly felt transported elsewhere for a bit. It felt like a genuine Farmer's Market and easily my favorite in Fresno now. Everything I purchased from this quick visit- I loved. The pastries from La Boulangerie, the coffee from Fabiano, the strawberries I actually purchased from 2 farmers, notably Maos Farms were the sweetest we've had all year and the produce was beautiful and delicious. I eyed some grape leaves sold by an older couple- the last one was purchased before I could say, hello, lol. They looked delicious. Great quality items from local farmers and vendors. I can't wait to return again.

Hanford puts on a decent Farmer's Market, with plenty of fruit/veggie vendors, street food vendors, local businesses, and activities for the kiddos. The local farmers are out and we enjoy coming out. Highlights (things we always enjoy): Baba Foods: Great greek foods you can take home to enjoy. Pits bread, pita chips, dips, hummus. YUM! Free samples. Smoke Joint: Pulled pork in a WAFFLE! Need I say more! Sanchez Corn: Elote!!! You just have to get some of the roasted corn, slathered with cheese and spices. You'll see everyone walking around the market with them. Shaved Ice: As the summer rolls on, this will be a popular place, so get in line early. Bentos: You just have to get a loaded potato... or they have the elote in a bowl should you want to try it, but have sensitive teeth. Horse Rides, Petting Zoo: I could just stand and watch the bunnies the whole evening if my hubby would let me. The little kids love the horse rides. Speaking of horse rides... The Carousel: Of coarse the carousel is open and running. Live Bands: Go in and have a seat and listen to the live music. All the farmer's market staples are also here: The jam lady, the honey person, the cheese people, the nut guy, the candied nuts, the Scentsy lady, the local radio station KFUN. It's all here. Funnel cakes, churros, that giant orange you see driving around town. Sometimes the donut guy is here, kettle corn, and I haven't even started talking about the produce. Cherries, berries, oranges, peaches, carrots, beets, onions, greens... it's all here and organized nicely. So, you can't go wrong, come on out on Thursdays for a lot of family fun. The Hanford Thursday Night Market Place is a great way to get out, sample the best of the local community, you'll always bump into friends, it's just a nice farmer's market.

A Must-Stop for Plant Lovers!…read more I absolutely love stopping by the Cute Roots plant booth at Haggin Oaks Farmer's Market every Sunday! I always look forward to seeing what new and unique plants will be on display. There's something different and interesting to discover each time, which makes browsing so much fun. My favorite thing about this seller, though, is the attention to detail. Each plant has a label on the pot with a QR code that you can scan to learn exactly how to care for your new plant. As someone who loves plants but doesn't always know the specific needs of every variety, I think this is such a clever and helpful idea! The plants are unique, the setup is inviting, and you can tell there's genuine care and passion behind what she does. If you're at the Haggin Oaks Farmer's Market on a Sunday and love plants, definitely stop by Cute Roots. You might just find your next plant baby!
