Went to this theatre to see Mutant ninja turtles, Mutant Mayham, the movie theater is a little old outdated, but the movie made up for it . Clean inside and tidy restrooms & plenty of parking reasonably priced. read more

There prices were not accurate, cash only did not say they will not take card had to go to the bank just to get cash. Had to make a unnecessary trip. Yes Madera Cinema 6 is a older theater, I would say the theater is decent though. I like to come to this theater when I do not want to travel to Fresno just to watch a movie. Cinema 6 has a big parking lot, clean restrooms, snack bar and the prices are good (little bit cheaper then the new theaters). Special price tickets on first showing and on a certain day of the week (I think Tuesdays). The theater could definitely use updating. I have had one issue with the movie being offset from the screen, I just went and told the staff and it was fixed right away. The staff have been helpful and friendly. One thing I really like is on occasion I have been able to come here with my fiancé and we will be the only ones in the theater (usually the last evening show). I would continue to come here on occasion. read more

It's not a bad theater by any means. It's just very old and has not had any upgrades over the years. I really do love the fact that there are only 2 or 3 previews before the movie starts, the way movie theaters should be, I love that the auditoriums are not crowded, the bathrooms and auditoriums were clean and picture and sound quality were good. They just need different seats. If they would just make their seats taller with a head rest I would give them more stars. As it stands though it is not a bad theater and I feel some of these other reviews are a bit harsh. They just need to update their seats that's really the only thing. Other than that it is a perfectly fine place to watch a movie and actually pretty well ran for being a small town, independent theater. read more

Not to mention the garbage cans they left in the theater after the employees cleaned up...And since when were under aged kids allowed in Rated R films WITHOUT adult supervision?! & they DON'T even have Nachos! Went there last night to watch Halloween. People walked in with little kids (5-10 yrs old)who, in my opinion, shouldn't be watching a movie like this. Regardless, if you bring kids, make them mind. Kids were talking loud, running around, one had a flashing toy he kept turning on, people were literally having loud conversations, playing games on their phones. I had enough and went up to the front and complained and they did send a couple of people in there and they did talk to a few people and it did quiet down a little but as soon as they left, it got really loud again. It's upsetting because we spent $69 just to see a movie and COULD NOT ENJOY IT. read more

If you want to see a movie and live in madera and don't have the time or don't want to spend the gas to go all the way to fresno, its not a bad option. It use to be TERRIBLE, but with teh addition of the stadium style theatre, they seem to keep it much cleaner and orderly. Not bad on a last minute movie outing read more

First time visiting this theater. Smelled really bad when I first walk in. I'm not sure if it was coming from the restrooms, but I felt sick after walking in. Place is pretty dirty and theater screen is small. I would rather drive further than go back to this dump. We didn't even watch the movie. Seats were really dirty and with the smell we just walked out. Wish I could get my $ back. read more

This theater is just as good if not better than anything you will find in Fresno or Merced. The prices are lower than anywhere else on both tickets and food. I don't know what these folks are talking about dirty. I have seen them clean a trashed theater in ten minutes. I wish they had a late show but if the community doesn't support it I don't blam tehm for closing early. Oh and the name of this theater is not Madera Cinema 6 it is Movies Madera. read more

Madera Cinema 6 is clearly good enough to stay local! It's super clean, family oriented, has tremendous customer service, and classic theater snacks. My family has enjoyed this theater since the mid 80s and it's ALWAYS been thoughtful and centered on families. There are larger but there aren't any throwbacks to a great era that have updated and maintained such a high level. My kids love it and and it's a treat for a matinee or opening night! read more

So I was weary about this theater because of the bad reviews I've seen here on Yelp but to my surprise my visit was very enjoyable. The theater was very clean, seats weren't thrashed, and the bathrooms were clean. I mean it's an older theater so it has character. In my opinion all movie theaters have a "smell" to them. It wasn't a bad smell just smelled like a movie theater. Lol The popcorn was tasty and fresh and the drinks were refreshing. I am planning on going to see another movie there later this week. Just goes to show that just because a place doesn't have 5 stars doesn't mean you shouldn't give them a chance. read more

Everytime I come here something happens. Last movie I saw, the guy behind me snored like a freight train the whole movie, time before that I went and the theater had a really stinky smell, and then there is the fact that multiple times there have been issues with the movie stopping half way through and them having to give us rain check passes to come back....I would rather take my chances with Fresno at this point! read more

The others are right, there is an odor it stinks . This theater does not list its shows on fandango or movies.com only marderaonline which is kind of annoying. Also in the middle of Tranformers the movie burned up & the lights came on. It's worth the drive to Fresno. read more

I've been going to Madera Cinema for over thirty year's and feel they do a good job. The owners are good people and care about keeping the place up. They show the latest movies and I have rarely had a problem watching them. The bathroom's are kept clean. I have gotten to know most of the staff over the years and find them friendly and courteous. Many of the workers there have staid through their high school years, college, and a few as a second job. I honestly feel we are fortunate to have a place like Madera Cinema. read more

The movie theatre is clean and the movies are less expensive than other theatres. However, they have recently changed their popcorn containers from the paper bucket or cup type to the paper bag type, so if you want to listen to the sound of a crinkling bag throughout the movie this is your theatre. Also be sure to take hearing protection because the sound of the previews is extremely loud. I realize my statements are contradictory but the movie and preview sound is extremely loud and as soon as there is a quiet moment in the move popcorn bags are rattling throughout. Unless the movie theatre changes their popcorn containers back to the paper cup or tub type, which is much quieter, I think I will visit the UA Broadway in Fresno. read more

The Madera Cinema 6 is your typical small town movie theater, they definitely lack customer service and the theaters are often still dirty after a movie. It could be that they are understaffed or the staff just does not clean up correctly. The wait line for tickets can be long on a Friday or Saturday night, I would suggest buying tickets earlier in the day if possible. Overall decent theater but you're paying for what you're getting. I would recommend Edwards in Fresno over this place if you have the time. read more

This use to be a decent theatre. Even though it was a little older it was clean and close. But now the theater is dirty and they have bags for your popcorn only. There are no refills on the popcorn no water what size bag you buy!! This last time the popcorn had a bad taste to it anyways. But what a waste of money!! I will drive further to see a movie next time. This theater has gone too far down hill. read more

This place is my second home. Every Tuesday they have "fiesta tuesdays" where you can see shows at night for matinee price. THAT IS AMAZING! The food is good, the people who work there are super nice and the popcorn is warm! I love it. read more

Its a decent place. the bathroom always stinks and feels thick and stagnant. ever hear of air fresheners? they aren't that expensive! the workers are nice somedays... others were very rude to my mother. the theaters NEED new seats and sometimes they have ants. only thing is I LOVE THEIR POPCORN! its not bland and it doesn't taste like cardboard YAY!!! but the food is severly over priced.... 3.50 for a candy??? really??? I can buy 3 or 4 candies at the 99 cents store down the road.. overall they have great parking, always air conditioned and have current movies! read more

I have lived here since 2002. I am so done with this theater. A couple of weeks ago, I made an effort to see, Southside with You. (Recent story of Barack and Michelle Obama) and now this week, The new Morris Chestnut movie, When the Bough breaks. This movie has had major commercials and you have to be the only idiot theater that is not playing it. This is racial and we see it obviously. These are not the first two African American movies, not available during the first weekend. I have decided I will not longer go there for convenience. Every now and then, I can find a movie for the grand babies, but any major Black Movie is never available when it hits the box-office. This is 2016 and we have an African American President and you deliberately omit showing black movies. Pay attention people. read more

I read many bad reviews on this theater but I also found they were old reviews from 2009. My experience with the Madera Theater has been pleasant. I have never had a movie crash or walked into a stinking theater. Nor have I had rude people around me. This theater is convenient for people who live in Madera. I would highly recommend this theater to anyone. read more

This theatre has a website playingtoday.com. this website doesn't differentiate between movie times of 2d or 3d. If you call it only tells you what time and doesn't differentiate either. My wife can't watch 3d as it gives her headaches. So we go only tofind out the time for the next 2d movie is 2 1/2 hrs away because the movie just started 25 minutes ago when (according to thege website) it doesn't start yet. Its very upsetting. They need to revamp the recording and website to reflect what times are 2d and when are 3d. read more

I have never been to such an unclean place in my entire life, I started to think I was on a back road shanty in Mexico it stank that bad. Went in to the bathroom (only to get paper towels to cover my seat) there wasn't only human feces but mouse droppings along with it. When the movie started it was so hard to hear the volume would go high than low. I have to admit I really lost my yearning for watching any movie when the stench hit me. This poor theater needs to be condemned, to make things worse when I found out who owned this theater if I would of know before I would never of entered the door. I try not to make a habit of patronizing businesses that their owners will stand and make excuses for a son that viciously murders and innocent girl for no reason, then at court state it gave him the same thrill he get when he rides a ride at Disney Land.
