One of just a few left. We really like going to the drive in. If you're new to the drive in…read moreexperience, here are a few pro tips. 1st- it's not like being at a regular theatre. You need some accoutrements. 2. Consider bringing lawn chairs and a FM radio. Many times the outside speakers do not work and I haven't figured how to play FM stations through my phone. 3. Bring your bug spray. I spray it on myself and the ground beneath me to keep away mosquitoes and ants. 4. We always bring dinner and snacks. We usually pick up a pizza, Panda Express, or some other fast food. I always bring an ice chest with water and sodas. We still hit the concession stand to help them stay in business. 5. Is the easiest, sit in your car with the radio dialed into the appropriate station. Enjoy the A/C car and enjoy the movie. 6. Beware, drive in theatre bathrooms are usually pretty bad. At least the Madera drive in has soap and paper towels.

Backed the Avalanche up they laid in the bed. Had some pizza and snacks for them. Now here are some things you SHOULD KNOW: bring chairs yes but also bring blankets if you plan on being outside the vehicle, if you have a Bluetooth speaker bring it. Do not be deceived by the speakers hanging if you are outside of your vehicle they are not sufficient. This is a very cool place and even the popcorn is cool. Take the kids and have some fun. Take your lover and relive some "good ol' times" at the drive in!

I little while ago I had some extra…read morecash (rare) and a free night (more rare) and the kids were being good (rarest!) so we decided to do dinner and a movie with the whole family. We went to this theater in Madera, even though we usually go to the movies up in Merced on the few occasions that we go to the movies. This was a bad move. The ticket prices were not cheap, but I'm okay with that if the movie is good and the theater is nice. The movie was fine for the family (Tale of Desperaux), but the movie theater itself was a joke. It is dirty - the first row we tried to sit in had chairs so dirty even my 3 year old was grossed out, and he thinks playing in the mud is awesome. The floor was so sticky that I was worried I might lose a shoe. The equipment is garbage - the sound was popping and their were black streaks all over the screen through the entire movie. The staff couldn't care less - I walked out early in the movie and politely told the only human being I could find (the guy at the ticket window) about the black streaks on the movie. He said he would let someone know, but nothing changed and as far as I know no one did diddly. At the end of the movie, the closing scene had barely finished when the cleaning staff snapped on blinding halogen floodlights in the theater and pushed in to start "cleaning". No chance to savor the movie for a minute or catch the little "bonus" scenes in the credits. We won't be back; I could understand some of the technical issues if this were an old movie at a dollar theater, but it was a first-run movie at full price.

This theater is just as good if not better than anything you will find in Fresno or Merced. The…read moreprices are lower than anywhere else on both tickets and food. I don't know what these folks are talking about dirty. I have seen them clean a trashed theater in ten minutes. I wish they had a late show but if the community doesn't support it I don't blam tehm for closing early. Oh and the name of this theater is not Madera Cinema 6 it is Movies Madera.

It's a little worn down, but ya gotta love Fresno's history and the group, promoter who brought Chris Isaak to Fresno. Did you know he's a Valley guy from Stockton? I had balcony seats. I had a great view of the stage and the entire place. Keep in mind there are No elevators. Stairs only. The plus is there are concessions and restrooms on the second floor. The concert was great. The sound was excellent. Performer sang a lot of his hits. He even came up to the balcony area where I was sitting. I'll post that on my social media profiles. The video is too long for Yelp. Deplorable, all of you. Y'all are not empathetic and just outright awful. Enjoy my reviews, you absolute monsters.
