Purchased the DUAL attraction ticket for 2 people (over $100) arrived at 8:00pm got in line for the "Haunted Corn Maze". Fast forward 3 and a half hours we walked through the half a**ed attempt of a haunt. Our group was so tired we grabbed our garlic fries at the food vendors (only positive thing of the night) and left, we didn't want to wait in line for another couple hours for the other attraction. The worst part is around 9pm they told everyone that Fast Pass was sold out, but around 11pm they told everyone in line that Fast Pass tickets were available again... like what?? Save your money and go to Hobbs they will do more with your money than this place ever will. read more

Payed $100 for 2 people to have to wait an 1 1/2 hours for HORRIBLE "haunted"corn maze. Very cheap props that sounded staticky and barely any actors. It was suppose to be "scarier" than hobbs grove it wasn't. 100% would not recommend GO TO HOBBS GROVE!! read more

My little brother and I absolutely love this place. The actors are always phenomenal, and the mazes always get me. It was really nice to see the new beer garden area so that parents can go relax and have a few drinks while their kids get scared. My little brother and I have made it a tradition to go every year and have been doing so for 6 years or so now. Hope to continue this tradition for many more years to come. The lines can get a bit long, but they move somewhat fast. It is typically cold there, so I recommend taking a warm sweater. Lastly, I was so glad to see that they added more porta-pottys because I felt they were needed. read more

However, it is ridiculous that they have a "fast pass" for a few dollars more that makes the people without a pass line wait over 3 and a half hours to get into a 10 minute maze. I went a few years ago when they didn't have the "fast pass" and it took our group about 30 minutes to get in. This year I took children thinking it would be the same and we litterally got in by the time it closed from when it started. Never going back. 2020 - Halloween is saved!! Great job Raisin Hell Ranch. The props and themed areas are very well done. The tunnels lent to an extra fright. Bravo to the scare actors. They stayed in character and were good at delivering the scare at just the right time. The guys with the electrical spark "thingy" and chain link - now that's cool! As for COVID compliance - fantastic job keeping everyone safe. From temperature checks to requiring guests to mask up. *I will caution those who have a fear of COVID - STAY HOME. This is not your year. I have noticed some haters shaming Raisin Hell for not enforcing the 6 foot distance. What do you want them to do? Hold the hands of these adults and continually scold them? I really love this event, however in the year of Covid it was an especially scary adventure. I am really good about making sure I feel safe in an event...I have no problem asking the people behind me to please step back, however the aggressive anti democrat shirt wearing crowd here had me a bit worried at first. However the staff (for the most part) did a good job of wearing masks and making sure we were not grouped with anyone else. The monsters had a special challenge this season getting scares without getting too close. They did a good job. There were a few inside moments and things we had to touch that were a bit annoying. But overall we had a good time and stayed socially distant. We had the upgrade fast pass so we didn't wait in lines once we got inside. The porta potties were ummm well porta potties. read more

So... Since my last review years ago, if you remember, I complained about timing and lack of security. Well guess what they've got now? SECURITY and TIMING! Now, I'm not saying it's solely because of my review. I will say, that I wasn't the only one complaining about it. We did the combo ticket which included all three attractions. The Hollywood, Chaos, and the Blackout Maze. The Hollywood and Chaos are hybrid attractions, meaning that it's both indoor and outdoor. The Blackout Maze has no one jumping out at you. It is literally just a maze in the dark. Not worth buying a single ticket for IMO. While the security is definitely better this year, be aware that you CANNOT TAKE IN PURSES OR BACKPACKS! It is a non-negotiable. You will be asked to take it back to the car. The reason I knocked off a star is because their timing is still pretty bad. They gave 30 seconds between each entry. While that may seem like enough time, you need to factor in people who get TOO scared, people who freeze, and people who accelerate too fast. GET AHOLD OF YOURSELVES PEOPLE! Other people are in the attraction with you, and you stopping doesn't help. It actually forces everyone to wait and then watch/examine where all of the actors are. It sucks. **RECOMMEND buying your ticket ahead of time because they give a $5 discount. ALSO, you just need your last name and ID to have the ticket booth look you up quicker. :) read more

I have been here in previous years and always had a great time however this year will be my last. I understand we are in scary unknown times. Prior to purchasing my tickets I looked on their website to see what measures if any are being taken to keep everyone safe. (Refer to photo) I thought okay cool I feel comfortable going to help support a business. Purchased our tickets and got there around 7:30 and waited 30 minutes in a line to go through security and then another 20 to get physical tickets even though I bought mine prior. Whatever. Started waiting in line and NO SOCIAL DISTANCING. AT ALL! No one enforcing social distancing. People were cutting in line. I was so uncomfortable because everyone was so packed together. The lines were made up of small rope and were wound back and forth. (Refer to video) at 10:30 we were only about half way to the attractions and I ended up leaving. Never even got inside. No refunds either. I voiced my concerns regarding their lack of following social distancing guidelines and I got a very rude childish response back. I took my family out here this past Saturday because they advertised that they were following cdc guidelines in the way of social distancing, mask and temp checks at the door for all customers. Once we got out there we realized that other than most (but not all) people wearing mask, there was no social distancing or temp checks as stated there would be on their website. When I voiced my concern to their Facebook page I got a very rude and unprofessional response. After myself and others told them they shouldn't lie to people about how they're operating, they deleted all my comments as well as anyone else's that complained about the same thing. A business shouldn't be allowed to act this way and hide peoples concerns while lying that they're following cdc regulations when their not. This place didn't make much effort with safety precautions for Covid. Just asked you to wear a mask and good spacing between groups in haunted houses. The lines were crazy long and zig zagged back and forth close together. Haunted houses are a long (12-15 minutes), but they just aren't scary. Very few characters and so many missed opportunities where they could have scared us and didn't. Most scenes were well done as far as theme/decor, but poorly executed from the scare standpoint. Don't bother buying tickets online because you still have to wait in line at the ticket booth to trade your printout for a ticket. They give you a safe word "escort" so we thought surely it would be scary. Never had to use the safe word. I think a better safe word would be "REFUND"! read more

I don't know why so many negative reviews we came out Thursday night. This was our first visit here and it was a great experience. Parking lot was spacious and walking up to checking in there was a long line but it moved quickly. Staff was great and moved crowds fast through the attractions. We paid for both attractions and we also got the front of the line pass (way worth if you hate standing in long lines) we bought our passes online. Things moved quickly and the attractions were great could have been scarier but overall experience was cool! They also had food truck on site and portable bathrooms..which I hate so go to the bathroom at home before hand! read more

This business my wife and I have been going to for years, ever since they first opened. Two years ago, (October 2020) because my wife was wearing an over the shoulder purse strap she was singled out to remove the purse. There were numerous other people wearing purses, but my wife was the only one that is African American. She was told that if she dI'd not remove the purse, we would be asked to leave. She complied and pointed out that there were numerous others with the same thing on. The security continued to be rude and said "If you don't like it then F*cking leave" I spoke to the owner about the situation, and he spoke with the security officer and we were left alone after I mentioned she was the only one being asked to remove her purse, and also the only African American person with one. We have not returned since, and refuse to patronize this establishment anymore. We were treated like a potential problem, even though we were long time customers. Besides that experience, the haunt has gone downhill for years. Not very many quality actors, and rude staff at the concessions, as well as in the Que line for the events. Between not getting that rush of fun and scare I felt myself spitting up dirt the whole time. The haunted mazes, were actually scary. Funny as hell. So much work and affects put into the displays. I'd def return. I pre purchased tickets to Raisin Hell Ranch in Madera for the 29th of Oct. I unfortunately came infected with COVID on the 27th an am very sick. So obviously I can't make it to the event. I reached out and notified them on the 27th that I tested positive for Covid along with sending them a picture of my test and I asked them how I can go about getting a refund. They pretty much bluntly told me they won't refund me my tickets and I can switch my date to another date of the season, which keep in mind the last date of the season is 10/31 and I'll still be contagious. So I advised them that, that is not an option as I'll still be contagious and at this point they have not done anything to make this right! I have absolutely no control over getting this shit an for a company to refuse to refund me and rather me come and risk everyone else getting sick is a scary thought!! Be cautious if you plan on going out to this place as they probably have tons of infected people out there spreading this virus!! Shame on Raisin Hell Ranch! You should have more respect and decency to the people coming out to your event. I feel like this needs to be spread and warned to others! I will never in my life want to go out to this place knowing this is how they do business!! read more

This place is not worth the wait. LONG lines for mediocre attractions. On both attractions we walked into themed trailers with no actors. This place was not scary at all. It's did not live up to the hype. At the entrance to the attractions they gave us instructions which included a safe word just in case it was too scary . WOW did not need that at all. Need a word that would actually make it scary. Not enough actors and poor line control outside of the attractions. We bought our tickets online only to have to wait in line to get the actually tickets. What a waste of time . Should have had a separate line for people with pre paid online tickets so they did not have to wait in line with people needed to buy tickets. Sent my daughter two times, one with 8:30 ticket time & they were not allowed to go in before that time & one with school function on Wednesday night. NEITHER time did she get to go thru attractions !!! With 8:30 ticket time she waited in line till 11:30 pm past time allowed for 16 year old to be out driving, others in her party that could stay finished ONE ATTTACTION at 1 AM when they Paid for TWO!!! VERY POORLY MANAGED!! They want your money but Good Luck After that!! The school went on a Wednesday, had 2 hours and had to leave before they were able to enter !!!! it has NOTHING to do with COVID since lines are Packed for HOURS!! NEVER EVER AGAIN !!!! read more

Just wanted to say that this place wasn't worth the money. There were so many people and they were all standing so close to each other. Security made sure that guests had masks on but I was surprised to see so many people standing so close to each other. Second the wait times were very long. We waited almost an hour for the first maze. Decided to leave because we didn't want to wait for another hour for the second time. The maze we went to was actually very poor. Barely any actors and hardly any scares. We ended catching up to people in front of us and people ended up catching up to us that were behind us. I hope it's better next year. This was my first visit here and wasn't impressed. I bought tickets to all three attractions however only enjoyed two of the three. I was disappointed in the first corn maze, black out maze, it was not scary or decorated accordingly. It was a dark maze with no light, which was not the problem, but not a single person, prop, or sound to make this maze scary. It felt more like we were bumping into other people due to the lack of space and visibility, I was more annoyed than entertained. The second attraction, freak show, was fun and scary but also not enough staff to make the effects of this maze scary. It also felt a bit too long and towards the end it almost seemed like the staff was bored and tired. Third, I believe was Wicker Village. This attraction was the best however it had a house that had props in the walking area that made it hard to walk and almost fell twice. read more

Halloween without a good scare, isn't a halloween at all. For the right dose of scare, Raisin Hell Ranch did it just right for me and for the right price of $25 for 3 attractions. Patrons will be subjected to a 15 minute walk through each of their three (3) corn field maze (wearing walking shoes is advisable) and confront all sorts of frightening experiments, it kept my dear adrenaline going with shocking scary characters popping unsuspectingly at every corner, and my heart beating at a healthy rate from anticipating the scares of its dark and lurking maze, and not to mention my tortured scream at the top of my lungs. What I do find fascinating about this Halloween attraction wasn't just the scare, but the utter organization. There was directional signs leading me to the location as I exited avenue 7 from CA-99, also the parking was well lit and had attendants to lead cars to their parking. Once at the line, there will be the conventional wait to purchase ticket. Lucky for me, I pre-purchased my tickets- so waiting in line wasn't much the case . Once inside I found the ground to be organized, where they had props scattered all around to create that halloween scary feel and warmed up my jitters before entering the actual halloween house. I found it fascinating that they have characters walking around as I waited in line, surely kept me on the edge and sort of entertained in the creepy way. Be warned that the wait can be long, somewhere between 20-40 minutes in line getting into the attraction. I would go to the asylum line first and then get to the scarecrow revenge next, and last of all attempt the black out maze, which is the mildest of the three. Last year (2014) they had the chupacabra and the scarecrow revenge and the walking dark maze. This year (2015) they changed the chupacabra attraction to the Joseph Schmalz Asylum. I shall not spoil the fun by giving a preview. But I would say be ready to scream, walk, and maybe run a little if you are a scary cat like me. The characters did not touch me, but they did get pretty close and their growls or scream really pumped my heart up. Overall a nice scare for halloween and worth the $25 spent. Definitely a fun activity to go with a group of friends and see each and every one of them either laugh or get pretty scared like me. If you are a fan of american horror story, this place would definitely capture that imagination in real life. read more

Went on Saturday to the Sinister attraction. I give the overall experience a 2 out of 5 Stars. The attraction itself was great! However, the lines were ridiculously long. It took about 40 mins just to get in through security, then additional 3 hrs waiting in line to get into the attraction which took about 10 mins to get through. The line to get in was not organized, and only one staff person patrolling the lines. And no COVID guidelines being followed and not to mention people were crammed in the lines with no social distancing. The general area was "okay". More characters and camp fires would have made the experience better. read more

I had a blast the day before at a similar attraction(Hobbs). So I decided that I should pay this place a visit cause it's not too far from me. It was a little dead but I didn't care. I thought that maybe it's early and people will show up later, I was wrong. Nonetheless, I paid for all 3 attractions for $25. I went to the chupacabra's revenge first. The initial walk in was dark and I was nervous. Guy pops out and I freak out. PERFECT! Then I come upon a weird area where I have to squeeze in between two black aired up air mattresses(that's kind of the best way to describe it.) I'm claustrophobic so it was terrible. I thrust my way in and I couldn't breathe, I panicked and then I thrust my way back into the direction I came from. Then I stop one of the actors and ask him if I was going the right way. He says, "yes, keep pulling forward and you'll get out of it." I almost wanted to tell him to escort me out of the place! So anyways, I proceed my way into the dark, suffocating hall of air mattresses and finally made it out. I had to take a minute and breathe. I asked everyone else if they were okay and they said that it was terrible but they were fine. From that point on until the end of this particular attraction, I wasn't afraid of any of the actors or the props, I just wanted to leave and go to the next one. It ruined it for me. I head to the second attraction, the scarecrow one. It reminded me of jeepers creepers, it was cool, whatever. But this attraction smelled terrible. Hey maybe it's part of the show, I wasn't complaining. Then I come across this two black suffocating air mattress area again. Oh heck no! I'm going to faint this time, for sure! I wanted to just walk back from where I came from and leave. Instead my bf tells me he will guide the way and push both arms against it to let me and the girls behind us get through. He was an angel in that raisin hell! We leave this attraction and talk to one of the actors walking around and in the middle of our conversation after I told her how I was going to faint she tells us, "yeah no one likes that part either." THEN GET RID OF IT! It's not scary, it's annoying and you might actually kill someone. Last, the corn maze. Pitch black, find your way out, no actors to pop out at you and best of all no black air mattresses pressed against your face to suffocate you. I gave this place 2 stars because it wasn't family friendly, there wasn't much to do, it was extremely dark. They over did it with the creepy music, the air mattresses in the attractions ruined the entire adrenaline. The actors were awesome, everyone was so nice, lots of energy but lacking in so many areas. I had a better time at Hobbs grove and I only paid for 1 of their attractions. I did anticipate raisin hell to be over the top and blow Hobbs out of the water but it didn't. Terrible crowd control. Other similar attractions I've been to have a policy of "if your entire party isn't in line you either split up or you can join them at the back of the line." The event staff here have no backbone whatsoever. One person was "saving the spot" for their party of 15+. They literally cut 30 people behind them. When event staff was told, they asked the accused party if they had cut. Of course they denied it stating their spots were being saved and the event staff employee walked away. This wasn't the only instance of cutting, just the biggest. I had purchased the $35 all 3 attractions expecting to be able see them all within one night. Unfortunately we were able to see one attraction during the 2.5 hours we were there. The line cutting folks didn't help the situation and we ended up leaving, essentially throwing away $40 (if you consider we did see go through one attraction). Upon leaving we were told we couldn't get a refund even though it was a terrible time but we can get the unused tickets stamped to come back at a later time. No thanks. Seemed like their maze was missing actors in many different places. Each scene had only 1 actor and some scenes had none! They have some pretty cool props throughout the maze, but bad lighting that you're not even able to see them. I feel like the place is penny pinching and trying to suck out as much money from their customers as they can, but they're not putting that money into making their attractions better. We went on Saturday the 20th. I want to start off by saying this place is definitely better than Hobb's Grove as far as the mazes go. It's also more affordable, has less kids, and is closer to town. I love that you're guaranteed to finish all of the attractions as long as you're inside before 10pm, since Hobb's Grove boots you out without a refund. I'd like to give it four stars, but my issues outweigh the positives. You'll have a difficult time with the mazes if you have any sort of disability since the ground is incredibly uneven in every maze. The blackout maze in particular was painful even for me and my friends--there were corn stalks and cobs EVERYWHERE on the path. By the time we got out my feet and knees were aching from stumbling. If you attend as only two people you may be placed in another group with strangers, which ruins the scares for the people unfortunate enough to be stuck with you. My biggest complaint is about the check-in process in two ways. First, the security guards went down the line before opening and announced the rules. Apparently you're not allowed to bring in ANY backpack even when that backpack is a small purse. I have a little backpack that I wear when I go to events and theme parks. It's smaller than most purses. I was told I had to leave it in the car. I didn't have pockets, so I had to fit as many items as possible into my best friend's purse. Her purse, by the way, was the exact same size as my small backpack. If I'd had a gun or any other weapons, they would have fit into her purse and been much easier to access than pulling something from my backpack. I saw girls with backpacks who were allowed inside no problem, so apparently they just pick-and-choose who gets to bring one inside. The security guards really need to be educated on the difference between a purse backpack and a school backpack. My second issue is that we bought our tickets online so that our entry would be faster, except it easily took five times as long. They only had one window open for the online tickets and our line was backed up. If you were buying a ticket at the gate you had no line and went in immediately after paying. The gal at the window was really nice, but the second window for online tickets was closed, and that's pretty ridiculous on one of their biggest nights. read more
