This is our family's go to place in Pullman. The kids love coloring, and looking at the drawings on the walls. They even eat the salad! The Calzone is the main dish, and it's ok. $10.00 average is about 3 or 4 dollars to high, but all food in this area is outrageous, restaurants seem to think this is New York? Anyway, for $10 you get a slightly burned outside, and mushy inside (I've had 5, so this is statistically significant) and consistently average. It also takes about 20 minutes to cook, so be prepared. I won't go again unless desperate for a bunch of calories. read more

Good food, a smidge pricey for the portion size, but has a very friendly atmosphere. Workers are quick to say that they'll get right back with you instead of leaving you standing around, and there is paper and crayons on the table for the kids (or to just pass the time, adults like to draw, too!) This is a must-try! My team was rushing to the airport after our match against UW, and decided to get it to-go. We ended up waiting an hour because they were so crowded and were making our calzones from scratch. We ended up nearly missing our flight. And you know what? It was 100% worth it. I have never tasted a fresher, plumper calzone in my life. I don't know how impressed you should be by that statement, given that I had only had one calzone in my life before that point, but bottom line is that calzone melted away all the stress and frustration of rushing to the airport and getting there just before the gate closed. And to do that, I give you 5 stars, Sella's. Oh and if you are artistic and love Sella's as much as I do, you should probably draw a picture and post it on their awesome wall of illustrations. read more

This restaurant is hit or miss. Their house salad is delicious, at work we call it crack salad it's so good. The times I've tried their calzones I haven't been impressed. The calzones often are hard and over baked on the outside while the filling is cool. If they get it right, the calzones are awesome. The biggest problem I have is that their employees are all student based and so they are closed often when the students are gone or closed at seemingly odd times. On occasion, the wait staff has attitude, which again is reflection of their hiring base but thankfully not always so. read more

I stopped in hoping to get a slice of pizza over lunch. They do not offer slices - whole pizzas only. So I purchased the 9" , which they said was for one person, but I think two "normal" eaters could share this pizza. I ordered a cheese pizza and it was okay. The cheese is really greasy which tells me it is not the best quality of ingredient. The sauce was decent. The crust is more of a pan style and they burnt the crust a bit. Would I go back, yes. Am I going to tell others to go, no. The staff was nice and service was quick, less than 10 minute wait. read more

Went there once: my calzone was not thoroughly cooked. Avoid. Unless you enjoy food born illness. I never understand the crowd I see when I drive by. Everyone talks about how much they love this place, but I sadly didn't. Maybe it was just a bad day for them. I ordered pasta and it was the worst I've ever had. The meat was unseasoned and bland. The pasta noodles were over cooked. The sauce was bland and cold in the middle. The overall dish tasted like it had been microwaved. For a simple dish like that I could have stayed home and cooked myself. I expected better from a place everyone talks about but I don't think I'll be going there again. It wasn't really my style of atmosphere either. Nice staff though. read more

Hasn't changed in 20 years! I'm in Pullman about 10-12 times per year for games and visiting. I try to stop at Sella's every time. Brings back some good memories of going to school and is fun to enjoy with the family now. read more

My boyfriend and I enjoy eating here quite a bit since it's so close to campus. The portion sizes are huge for their college student clientele. For instance, my parents ordered their regular-size house salad and went back to ask if it was the large one because you could safely split it between two people so long as they agreed on the dressing. Their Piesan Pizza is what we usually order, and it's piled high with all of the toppings; they definitely don't skimp! The only downside of this restaurant is the hours: because they are dependent on college students for staffing, it's rather hit or miss whether they're open on breaks and such. However, they usually post a sign on the door, but they don't usually do this in advance, so you might need to have a back-up plan for your meal! Oh, and their parking lot is kind of scary; a car could disappear in those potholes!! read more

I asked for a pick up order and when I showed up to get my food they told me they never submitted the order but the would do it now and it would be ready in 15. I said ok and that I would come back then because I had stuff in my car that needed to get to my apartment that couldn't wait. Then they asked me if I could pay for it before I leave and I said no I'll pay for it in 15. They asked again and I said no. First off this is a restaurant not a drive through. Secondly does a person buy food at a restaurant before they even see it? No they don't so don't ask me to pay for food that hasn't even been started yet. When I got the calzones 15 minutes later they were burnt and the meat in the supreme was crunchy and tasted like it was filled with the leftover shreds of meat already on the burner. So bad food, bad service. only reason I gave 2 stars is because the Italian calzone wasn't that bad and tasted fine. Taking an order can't be that hard guys. They just can't seem to bake their calzones all the way through. I ordered a Mexican one and it looked fine on the outside but was "ice cold" inside. I had them heat it up again but they should know how to properly make them to begin with, they've only been around 15+ years. My wife ordered the Canadian one and the dough was still raw around the outside. These calzones are around $10 so not exactly cheap. The ingredients are rather bland as well. I tried Sella's for the first time on a home game evening. The place was packed and there was a lot of team spirit!! They did a great job of getting us a table fast and the food was brought very quickly. I loved all of the crayon drawings on the wall!!! The gourmet calzone is epic, with artichokes and pesto. The calzones are the perfect portion size and are a fair price at around $10-12. It so warm and cozy in Sella's and the hot calzone was dripping with grease! Ordered 3 calzones an hour a go. All three were way overlooked and black on top & bottom. Since these were to-go, we didn't find out until we got them home. Burnt calzones are not tasty. I don't think we'll be going there again. read more

The calzones were burnt on the outside and raw inside. They refused make us new ones or refund our money. A real bad experience.

Their pizzas are really thick crust and covered with way too much cheese, you could as well call them a cheese pie. Also, for a large pizza they charged me ~$23+tips which is way too much for something which is hardly what you would expect from a pizza, and it's an upper limit for a really good NY style pizza in any good pizza take out. Pastas are just okay, but you can get a real italian style pasta in Black Cypress for just $3-4 more. And their salad for $4.50 looks like a really small side salad and barely worth the money. read more

We heard Sellas had great pizza. Being from out of town we thought we would try it. We went on July 22, 2013 around lunch time. The cashier (a WSU student) took our order. She asked where we were from and I told her we had a five hour drive home. I gave her my credit card to pay for our order, she said the card did not go through. Finding that hard to believe because funds were available I asked her to run the card again. This time she said the card did not go through and that they just converted their transaction machine from using a land line to using WIFI. I asked for the two denials and paid cash. I had a hunch that something was not right but I blew it off. After eating, we left and headed home. A week later my bank called me and said there was suspicious activity on my credit card. The fraud unit investigating found that my credit card was used on line to purchase text books and the books went to Pullman. The only place I used my credit card while in Pullman was at Sellas. It is disheartening to have this happen at such a traditional and highly respected establishment. Management should check the employees they hire and make sure that customers are not being victimized by students trying to meet their college needs. If the cashier would of just asked I would of bought her books for her. read more

I have given this place a few chances and the food has always been mediocre at best. Although when I came in yesterday, I decided it would be my last time. When I came up to the register to input my order, I was able to see straight through the kitchen and noticed that none of the cooks had GLOVES on. I saw the workers continuously go back and forth from touching the cash register to making salads with their unsanitary hands. Additionally something I witnessed that was completely inappropriate was that after a table had left, they left over half a pitcher of beer. At that point a worker brought it to the back and served it to other workers on the job. My friend used to work there and she said that this was a normal occurrence in the restaurant and that she quit because of how unprofessional this place opperates. Overall, if you want sanitary food and for it to be served to you by a trusted sober worker, then I really suggest finding another place to spend your money. read more
