I called for technical assistance in figuring out how to solve a problem as a newer customer who pays a monthly bill promptly. I spent an hour on the phone with our router's company, and that person was extremely helpful, but after the hour, told me the problem was in the slow speed of our service. Don't you think the rude woman who called me back from Country Wireless would have seen that as an opportunity to offer an upgrade for more money on her company's part rather than being a bitch and telling me it was my problem? I would have paid for it! Carving out time in my schedule to call this company has been difficult; it has taken me two months to do so, and this is the response I get.

(0 stars if I could)…read more TDS is, without question, the worst company I have ever had to deal with. The internet service itself was mediocre at best. Speeds were inconsistent and never seemed to match what was advertised. Unfortunately, that wasn't even the worst part. Shortly after starting service, TDS began charging me for a landline service I never purchased, requested, or agreed to. For seven consecutive months, I had to call customer service to dispute the charges and request reimbursement. Every month I was assured the issue had been fixed. Every month the charges came back. Their billing system was equally dysfunctional. AutoPay would randomly fail despite my payment information being valid and unchanged. I would log in, manually submit payments, and often have to attempt the transaction multiple times before it would process. Despite this, TDS still assessed late fees and treated my account as delinquent. After eight months of constant billing issues, I finally canceled my service. I returned all equipment within the required timeframe and received confirmation that my account was closed. Yet months later I continued receiving emails and text messages claiming I owed money. I canceled in April, and as recently as June I was forced to call and dispute another random charge. The most frustrating part is that every single representative tells the same story: "The issue is resolved. Your account was canceled correctly. You shouldn't receive any more charges." Then the next month arrives and the cycle starts again. At this point, I have spent more time fighting TDS's billing department than I ever spent using their internet service. Avoid this company at all costs. The internet wasn't worth the hassle, and the billing problems never ended. Canceling service felt less like closing an account and more like trying to break up with a clingy ex who refuses to accept it's over.

It's always well below what they advertise unless you go to their specific speed test site they manage. They also overcharge an additional month past date you cancel and refuse to correct and unless you pay they directly send it to a collection agency and mess up your credit rating. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE! I personal am going though this experience with them in North western WI. I received their bill. then called them and canceled them. the following month received another bill. 1 month after canceling them. I called them to correct it. basically told to bad and to pay it. When I refused to pay, they sent it to collections and have since ruined my credit rating.
