Sell Hearse stadium is basically selling tickets to see a hearse, in the sense that the stadium died its death a long time ago.
First-Hand Experience: More info about my personal experience at this stadium - I've actually only been here 2 or 3 times which is not a lot compared to most of the stadiums since I was a rabid football fan, travelling to games all over the country and visiting almost every stadium you can imagine. My most recent trip here was in 2014, and I noticed how run-down and neglected Selhurst Park has become, compared to the way I remember it.
I think it needs a real cash injection. Yet the fans are so rabid and loud, and it's in a lovely part of suburban south London in SE25. Everyone was incredibly friendly, and I even ran into one of the cheerleaders about a week later when shopping nearby. My trip to this stadium was, in 2014 and before, always a pleasure.
I've been to every significant stadium in UK & US, due to a lifelong obsession with travel, sport & especially footy (soccer to Americans). Born & raised in England, I followed Oxford United (hometown team) to stadia all over the country at away games, and later followed Liverpool (fave team) around. Every stadium review - like all my reviews - are based on first-hand personal experience, usually from multiple visits. In 2011, I was on music tour in the UK, visiting hundreds of stadiums for fun in my spare time. As recently as Fall 2014, when I was "stuck" in UK for 3 months, I went to most of them yet again while travelling. I have pictures of me at many of them, which I will post later. Also, when back in the UK I plan to take more pix, and add more stadia! So watch this space!

So yes it's a bit run down.
It needs expansion, it needs the corners filled in, it needs massive improvements. However...
Having said all that, it manages to generate one of the best atmospheres in all of football. And it's absolutely amazing to be there and witness it. It's probably the loudest small stadium crowd you'll ever hear. And they never give up even when they are losing... it's wonderful to see.
The stadium is bright red and blue like the team, and has the eagle celebration and the cute cheerleaders and all.
Built in 1924, it has a capacity of 26k and I have to admit it's a secret love of mine. read more
