I have never been here before but the room we were in also had a small bar, which appeared to have a limited selection of alcohol. You never feel far away from the stage in the least and the acoustics are brilliant. Not a massive amount of leg room in the upstairs seating - I'm a 5'7 lady - and was a bit uncomfortable towards the end, if I were any taller I'd say book the stalls). But you feel immersed in the play in any seats. The bar is nice too though a little crowded so we went to the pub down the road before the play started. The only downside was that the same usher that had checked our tickets and pointed us to our seats then came over 15 mins later with a couple, just before the performance was due to start, and said they had the tickets for our seats. The lights went down to begin the performance and he proceeded to stand next to us with the angry couple waiting for us to find out tickets to prove we had a right to be there. Being pitch black and knowing the eyes of the audience were on us (as the performance was now being delayed due to this seating error) we were very flustered and had to empty out rucksacks and pockets. Needless to say we couldn't find them immediately and the usher gave us a v accusatory look and walked away with the couple (after a good 5 minutes of staring at us mid fluster). It transpired the guy next to us had knocked our tickets under his seat.. It was really upsetting and ruined the first 15 mins of the performance. The usher came over to us in the interval and proceeded to stand there whilst we had to find our tickets. On showing them to him he said 'oh good, I've done my job properly, I won't get told off' and then subtly blamed us for the other couple having to leave. It really cast a shadow over the evening. Please sort out your booking system - although it was v upsetting for us, the other couple were offered alternative seating in the gantry (20 mins after the play started for some bizarre reason) so just went home. As it was the last ever performance of Happy Days I suspect their night was more bleak than the play - a tall order. In summary; be warned about booking. I think us booking through TimeOut and the other couple going through the YoungVic website was the cause of the double booking. But that aside love it. 29/3/2015 - having emailed feedback to the manager of the Young Vic we were advised the usher had been spoken to and were offered a free program. A little patronising but hopefully they've amended their booking system.

The refurb has also grown the dining space so it's a fab place just to hang regardless. One of my favourite gems in London and a bonus - it's South of the river ;)

The sound booth is behind the audience. There's a good view of the stage, even in the 9th and 10th rows. Be aware, that if you sit in front, you may get roped into some audience participation when watching a comedy like Graeme of Thrones. The post code here was wrong, but yelp has now corrected it. Its WC2N 6NL. We got a bit lost with the wrong post code, fortunately they were kid enough to let us in, even though the play had just begun. But we didn't get a chance to check out the bar. Good location. Coming out at 11:45pm, there's a nightclub next door which still had long queues of people waiting to get in. The crowd here was perfectly fine, but just be a little bit careful as you get close to the station, the path isn't as well lit up. If I was alone, I would be nervous and avoid that station road this late at night.

I like this teeny weeny theatre…read more It is under the arches, right under Charring cross station, so you can expect some rumbling from the trains overhead... this actually added to the atmosphere on our visit as the show was Lost Boys, and is set in WWI, so the rumbling trains seemed like distant gun fire... Good good: * It is small, but that means everyone can see easily * There is plenty of leg room * The loos weren't disgusting (I normally hate theatre loos!) Less good: * The ice-cream isn't amazing * The aforementioned train noise...I think if it was a different production, that would be really annoying.

Seating for our show wasn't numbered. It looks like the seating arrangements can be moved around depending on the production. It's a small theatre, so sound wasn't an issue and great views all around. We were front centre, so we had a brilliant experience. There's a bar downstairs and they have washrooms. (Didn't use either) A word of warning, if your show ends late (10:15 on a Friday night), there's no place in walking distance to grab dinner later. So plan accordingly.

Uninspiring to look at from the outside, the inside, too, holds back on the glitz and glamour. A couple of soulless corridors link the box office to the bar and the auditorium. The Bridewell doesn't put on large scale productions, it's a small theatre largely used for am-dram performances and the shows of small theatre groups. The auditorium seats around 130 and is quite adaptable. Depending on what performance is being staged at the time the setup is versatile, the seating can be changed and moved around so as the "stage" can be more easily manipulated and configured to suit the director's desires. The problem with this performance space is that the stage/seating areas are separated from the 'backstage' area by curtains only. This means you'll often hear the theatre staff and stagehands shuffling about and working away. Not dreadful but still a distraction. The bar is downstairs and isn't altogether impressive. The air in the bar has a feel and smell to it as that of a damp, concrete storage basement - which is exactly what it is/was. Other events are held down here and a small number of artworks from numerous small-scale temporary exhibits are displayed too. As well as some larger agricultural equipment/furniture. I imagine this is because there just isn't anywhere else to put it, though. All in all, the Bridewell Theatre probably won't impress you but it's theatre's like this that are necessary for grassroots production and, depending on the particular production you see, of course, I'm sure you will find some enjoyment from your visit. It's a smaller theater just a few…read moreblocks away from Picadilly Circus Station, and around the corner from His Majesty's Theatre (where Phantom is!) . This smaller scale is a huge advantage. We had seats on the balcony, and I was pleasantly surprised by the fantastic bird's eye view of the stage it offered. The intimacy of the venue truly enhanced the emotional impact of "Your Lie In April." Overall, the Harold Pinter Theatre is a charming and well-located venue that offers a great theatrical experience, even from the balcony. The stairs are kind of steep and narrow, and the bathrooms are kind of cramped. But it was very lovely to have the opportunity to visit this small theater to watch the adaptation of Your Lie in April.

I came here to see one of my favorite actors, Tom Hiddleston, perform in the play "Betrayal" (which, coincidentally, was written by the same individual that the theatre is named after). Despite the minimalist set design, the production was well done. The sound and lighting were excellent, and I had fantastic seats. I sat in the B-row of the Royal Circle and had a fantastic view which did not require the aid of my opera glasses. Speaking of binoculars/opera glasses, in the Royal Circle (the seating block between the Orchestra and the Balcony seats) they are available for rent for a small fee (£1, if I remember correctly). Not sure if that's the case in all of the sections though. The only concern that I had involved exiting the theatre. There are two very small stairways that lead from the Royal Circle to the main floor and ultimately to the exit. In the event of a fire or other emergency, is almost assured that people would be trapped/trampled. I must've waited for at least 15 minutes after the show ended just to get out of my seat because the queue backed all the way up into the seating area.

Opening in Brighton, transferring to DoY, then touring - if its still on the road, its a must to see it you can My wife, being Danish, had never been to a pantomime, though she of course knew what it was about We thought, fat chance to get tickets now after that press...I tried and wow, 2 in the front row of the Dress Circle 5pm, on New Year's Eve. Its a great little theatre...the guys kept the queue moving and once inside it was easy to find loos, bars and seats...they did insist no glasses on the front row, plastic only - pretty sensible one would say. A great view from up there - probably the best seats, though frankly, I'm reckon you would get a good view from almost anywhere - the online chart showing seating available helps immensely when deciding It was a fantastic evening...yes, there were a few kids, but this was really one for the parents...you could tell with the exuberant not to say loud, contribution from the audience - everyone there was ready to participate, given the slightest chance This is a FUN evening with all the cast in good form, some excelling and I don't just mean the 2 leads. A few political asides, a few risque moments but basically it was a show to savour. The 3 musicians in the boxes were good too. It was probably a good thing they didn't invite anyone on the stage For me, the best performance came from Oscar Conlon-Morrey who literally threw himself into the part as Jack, the son. Over the top - absolutely...he was supercharged from the moment he came on till the final curtain. The theater is much smaller than other Broadway and West End theaters I've visited - with only 600-ish seats. That made it intimate and special for this play. We sat in the first row of the Royal/Dress Circle, and the seats and the view of the stage were excellent. There was a bar and bathrooms on that level - everything we needed for a great evening of theater. The location is great - plenty of options for a pre-theater dinner. And the theater is beautiful inside and puts on some great productions! I'd love to return.

Finally a good theater near me up towards Halloway/Highgate. The previous nearest decent one was The Bicycle in Kilburn and that was a pain beyond pains to get to. There's not really a lot around the place apart from the slightly gangsta Halloway Road so be prepared to hunt for a decent preplay boozer or just get a bus/tube from Camden or Highbury+Islington. The theatre itself is part of an old warehouse but very intimate, appearing to have multiple levels on the outside with a large room and stage on the inside. The stage seemed to be quite big with one side of the room flanked by a bar. We had free tickets to "Office Party" (the nearest thing to an office party we had this year, yes I'm looking at you NHS!) which was an interactive play where the action happens around you and on the two platforms at either end of the theatre room. Without wishing to give too much away there were party games, high drama and screams of "Oh my! That's a girl!?". Certainly worth going to and more fun than most of the actual office parties I've been to in a venue I shall be looking at more.

If you prefer smaller, more eclectic theatre then put Pleasance on your list. They have some great…read moreshows. The most recent one I saw was by the Momentum Theatre Company called "Anima", which was amazing. What I like about Pleasance is that you get a good view of the stage wherever you sit. It's spacious but also quite intimate. The architecture of the building is interesting and it was once a timber storehouse. There is a bar for before and after drinks and a section with comfy couches. The foyer is host to various exhibitions throughout the year. Shows are never too expensive - the average being around £10. A minus is the location. Other than Shillibeers bar and eatery, there's very little else close by.

We contacted the Peacock Theatre to explain our utter disapointment with 'agents' of their company who they allow to sell tickets on their behalf. The response from the Peacock Thearte was 'we are sorry but there is nothing we can do'. ADVCE: Other than stop companies like Theatre Tickets Direct selling tickets to your shows might be something you could consider? Whilst we are going to watch the show, we will never attend the Peacock Thearte again. It is rather ironic that the Theartes here in London have been pleading for Government funding to help them survive the pandemic, and then allow companies like Theatre Tickets Direct sell their shows and treat consumers unfairly in their name. HERE BELOW IS OUR THEARTE TICKETS DIRECT REVIEW ON GOOGLE AND TRUSTPILOT BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY AND BEFORE YOU EVEN CONSIDER USING THEM CHECK THEIR ONE STAR REVIEWS. So, my Wife tried to book two tickets for Saturday Night Fever at the Peacock Thearte for the performance on the evening of the 20 February 2022. Upon visiting their site she notice a block of three front row seats available so she proceeded to book two of the three seats available. She booked one of the two seats but when she tried to book the seat next to the one she had booked she found that system was not letting her do so. Frustrated with this she when out of the booking system and refreshed her browser. Upon going back into the booking system she clicked on the first seat she had booked it and was not showing as available any longer. She then thought well that seat has now gone and successfully booked the other two remaining seats. She went to the secure checkout and paid for the tickets. Within minutes of making the booking she received notification from her bank that Thearte Tickets Direct had debited the cost of all three tickets from her account. She immediately emailed Thearte Tickets Direct advising them of the error within tens minutes of receiving the notification of debit from her bank. She received a very abrupt email the next day from a Nandeep Vyas advising that it was now 'impossible' to issue a refund for the third ticket even though it was probably a glitch in their booking system. We have perused the one star reviews here and would tend to agree with the consensus of opinion expressed therein that the customer service is appalling and that they are potentially scamming consumers. We are consumer lawyers and we will not let this matter rest. We fully intend to drag the matter through the Small Claims Court for a princely sum of £35 to issue on these people, and have them explain their T&Cs to the court is well worth it, and we will publish the outcome here, win or lose. We have also written to the Chief Executive of the Peacock Theatre outlining our dissapointment in the way in which this company represent the theatres who allow them to sell tickets for their shows on their behalf.

A very centrally located and super comfortable theatre. It feels more like a plush cinema hall than…read morethe regular London theatres (live productions) Comfortable seats, with good cushioning and gasp! Plenty of leg room! We were down in the stalls and there are no pillars or other such construction in the middle of the hall, so none of the seats were "restricted view" I'd bought discounted tickets on Time Out and that is always a risk, since you do not know until you've picked up your tickets in the day of the show, what seats are going to be allocated to you. But at the Peacock, that risk is minimised - due to the afore mentioned absence of "restricted view" seats. Temperatures were comfortable throughout. There were cafeterias on both floors (stalls and circle), but we had just had dinner before the show, so we didn't brave the crowds milling around to check it out. They do have a lift for the disabled to use, so access is not an issue, even though the elevator is very slow. I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think they have some kind of tie-up with Sadler Wells as they seem to have a lot of their shows coming up.
