A cosy theatre venue that you don't expect to be hidden behind the pub! It's a modest size - maybe 60 people - so feels really intimate, and with the tiers sloping upwards quite sharply everyone gets a clear view. I can also confirm my ridiculously long legs found themselves with ample legroom. We went to see the very cleverly written 'Montagu', a tale of political dysfunction told by donkeys (trust me it works!). I was already charmed by the place but they even gave out free glasses of wine before the performance, I'd guess because it was press night?! The only reason the venue misses 5-stars is because it got so swelteringly hot inside during the play, so not sure if the air con was on the blink that night. Otherwise it's a really charming local venue and I wish there were more like it. read more
