More importantly, my wife who never lifted weights before signed up with an amazing and wonderful trainer there named Tatum. Tatum is so knowledgeable and has such a calming demeanor. Additionally, after I started working out 4-5 times per week I began having issues with a range of different muscle and joint pains (basically I kept hurting myself). So I decided to sign up for sessions with Tatum myself, and she taught me a regimen of stretching and corrective exercises which has basically cured my issues. My wife and I both give Tatum the highest recommendation!

When I called ahead because I was going to be late due to unforeseen traffic, the staff was kind enough to do a grace cancel despite calling only an hour ahead. I called a second time the next day on Friday to follow up and they said they'd found it and put it in the lost and found bin and that I could pick it up the next time I came in. I live 30 minutes away so I wasn't able to come in until six days later (today) and it wasn't in the lost and found bin and they said it might've been donated. You would think that calling twice and having my name and number connected to that item would be enough to prevent it being donated not even a week later. I know I'm a ClassPass client but I claimed my item and clearly had intentions to retrieve it if I called twice right after the class and it's pretty upsetting that I was reassured it would be there and then it wasn't. If staff wasn't sure if I'd come back for it, a pickup time could've been coordinated. I know studios are technically not responsible for lost or stolen items and it's not even expensive but it's the principle of how it shouldn't have happened in a small gym and how it could've been easily communicated between staff or with me bc if I'd known they'd do this I would've made the 30 minute drive for it. I actually booked a class tonight just to pick up that jacket bc I normally cycle elsewhere. Now I'm just hoping for a callback on the unlikely chance they locate my property and that means I'll have to drive down yet again and that's IF they didn't give it away without my consent. There needs to be some kind of replacement or financial compensation for this bc this is truly unacceptable. I'm sorry to leave a bad review on a small business that has been otherwise pleasant but this was poorly handled af, that was my favorite jacket so yes it's dumb but this ruined my night and was upsetting so unless the situation is somehow rectified by returning my belongings or compensating the loss caused by the mishandling of this situation I'm going to remain unhappy with my overall experience and leave this review up. I've been to a lot of other studios in the area and they've NEVER lost or donated anything I've forgotten so this feels incredibly shady and careless towards clientele and made me lose all trust and interest in the business

They have all the equipment you could need to work every part of the body. The trainers genuinely care and personalize the program to your needs. Plenty of parking. Lockers are available with a code. It's a get-in, workout, get-out gym. There are no people, just hugging machines or standing around. Everyone is usually doing something, and so it motivates me to keep working out. It's never so busy that it gets uncomfortable. I have seen people of all ages, body types, and abilities here. It is a good mix of healthy people. Cons: No showers yet (they are expanding to include showers and a sauna soon) Only two restrooms. (I have never had to wait to use one, but you never know). Overall, this gym is pretty well organized. They offer plenty of trainers of all genders. I believe they also do rehab and physical therapy. There also is someone that comes to do massages. Everyone I have seen here is pretty friendly and polite. I have been training with Laura, and in the past three weeks, she took me from 0 pull-ups to 20 chin-ups, 1:20 plank to 3:30, and 15 push-ups to 42 in 2mins, and my strength overall has increased. It's only a few minutes from my house, I know a lot of the regulars and staff, and after this many years it starts to feel more like a familiar routine than just another gym. Brandon and the management team have always been good, and the staff overall does a solid job keeping things moving. The remodel definitely improved the gym and made the layout more user-friendly. Equipment access feels better than it used to, and overall it's cleaner and more functional than a lot of other big box gyms in the area. That said, I do think they could have taken the renovation further. Adding recovery-focused amenities like red light therapy, cold plunges, or upgraded wellness features would have made a huge difference and helped modernize the experience. I'm also not thrilled that towels disappeared while membership prices somehow continue going up year after year. I've been a member for a very long time, and it does get frustrating watching the price steadily increase without really feeling like long-term members get much back in return. Still, for the price point, it's honestly a pretty good gym. It's not an ultra-luxury executive fitness club, but you generally get solid value for what you pay for. The majority of all the old members of the Sports Club/LA left due to the different crowds of people Equinox has brought in. We called it the 24 hour fitness crowd. It's quite true. A lot of things has certainly changed drastically after it became what it is today. I would say 50/50% of things happening here are good and bad. Behind the closed doors things are not always what they seem for a 5 star upscale gym. A lot of members including myself had have our personal belongings stolen from us from time to time. I've personally had a issue recently that resulted in someone stealing by $200 cycling bib shorts after I went to take a shower after a extremely exhausting spin class. That's pretty disgusting on who ever stole a pair of stinky worn shorts belonging to someone else. Others have their underwear stolen directly from their lockers while they simply walked away to get something. It's creepy. We never had this problem when the Sport Club/LA was around. Seem like all of the bad things that has happened to this beautiful gym is by members who were previously members of 24 hour fitness. Other than the negative things, Equinox is ALWAYS a nice gym to go to when you're looking for the most exclusive upscale gym other companies don't have. One thing that makes me laugh every time I walked through the front door is the valet service that offers easy parking for lazy people.
