The shoe selection is vast, with mostly hard to find and unique shoes. The value is fair for these "hard to get" items. Now for the bad part. I'm not sure what i can say about the service that hasn't already been said. They have many workers and security guards on the floor. They will not acknowledge you, not smile, and not ask you if you need assistance. In fact they will even look at you with disgust for being in there space. I'm not sure how this business model works, but I would never spend money in this place no matter how bad I want the unique selection of shoes. Hopefully the service will get better in future.

Now the alleyway that the store has been using for an event entrance all weekend looks like an insane disgusting mess. This is a serious health issue for the hundreds of apartments that are located directly across the alley. The store has no direct contact info and even has a fake phone number listed on yelp. This is absolutely fucking outrageous

It is a great spot to kill an afternoon, whether you are into anime, Japanese groceries, or just good food. Definitely worth a stop if you are in Little Tokyo.

There are several restaurants first of all. Then there's bakery store, gift shop, Japanese grocery store, ice cream parlor and it's adjacent to another mall building. The plaza is mostly clean and safe to walk around. We spent about an hour here. We bough some stuff from Nijiya market, got kimono from Shinyodo gift shop and got ice cream from Little Tokyo Ice cream and yogurt. All staff members in each store were nice. Prices varied from average to high based on products.

Dropped off a pair of jeans to get hemmed and chain stitched the past week and when I got them back the threads weren't clean whatsoever and they were already coming apart. Whoever did the chain stitching did a very sloppy and unprofessional job especially if you're going to charge for it. Pretty crazy he looked at it and said "looks good". The issue was the sleeve alteration. I asked whether Schott could shorten the sleeves at the cuff, for which I understood there was an $85 charge. The store told me it would not arrange the alteration at the time of purchase. Instead, I was told to take the jacket home, wear it around Los Angeles for about a month in 90 degree heat so it would develop creasing, and then bring it back to be measured. I later contacted Schott customer service in New York and was told that this was not company policy. The Los Angeles store subsequently invited me back for a fitting before I took the jacket home, which I appreciated. However, I had also sent the store manager important emails seeking clear guidance, and those emails were not returned. I understand that leather jackets can settle and crease with wear, and I would have been perfectly open to a careful fitting discussion. What I wanted was consistent information and responsive communication before spending roughly $1,100 on a jacket. Instead, I received conflicting answers and could not get my questions resolved by the manager.

I'm now going back and deleting every word of that praise. Brave Star charges an additional $20-$25 to hem its jeans. Do not use this service. Despite providing exact measurements, I was handed an expensive pair of jeans hemmed several inches too long. I returned them so the mistake could be corrected, came back to pick them up again, and discovered they had done absolutely nothing. No correction, no meaningful explanation, and no apparent concern that they had wasted my time twice and left me with jeans I still couldn't wear. A company that sells premium denim should be capable of performing a basic hem correctly. At the very least, it should take responsibility when the work is clearly wrong. Brave Star did neither. After more than ten years of loyalty and referrals, I was treated as though my business and the quality of their own work were completely irrelevant. I hope Mik and Maria Serfontaine are proud of the standards their company now represents. I certainly wouldn't trust Brave Star with another purchase, and I would strongly advise anyone buying their jeans to take them somewhere competent for alterations.
