I don't like leaving bad reviews but I've had 2 very frustrating encounters here. I bought almost 1,000 grommets to install on a jacket sample after Behrooz told me he would let me rent the die sets from him so I wouldn't have to purchase those separately (they're over $100 each and I needed 4). I purchased the grommets and returned a couple of weeks later to rent the die sets from him and he then changed his mind and said he couldn't rent them to me because he uses them and he acted as if he had no idea what I was taking about when I told him he said I could rent from him. I would not have bought the grommets if I knew I had to buy the die sets as well. The whole point was to rent the sets and save money. I could have bought much cheaper grommets and die sets elsewhere, which I will be doing now. The second encounter- I was trying to learn from him about grommet installation. I know it's not his job to educate me, but I simply asked a question as to why some grommets look different from others on the backside when they are installed and he told me to "stop being so picky" and got annoyed and blew me off and wouldn't give me an answer. I told him I just wanted to understand the difference but he refused to give me an answer. Again, I know it's not his job to teach me anything, but the poor customer service was very frustrating especially as someone who was planning on buying in bulk for production. I will unfortunately be finding another supplier. read more

Don't bother coming here. You'll have better luck online or in Orange County. The guy who owns the place, Bruce, the older gent seems like he wants to help but then comes off as a know it all and then flips on you if you disagree with him. He's not open to hearing what you want to do on your project. As a supplier with connections to get things in bulk, he won't buy a supply of things if you only want a few out of a dozen since he doesn't want to keep a stock of things. (Aren't you a supplier? Keep a variety of things in your store!) The up charge for leather trims and othen fastners is ridiculous! If he doesn't know how to fix he'll blow you off and tell you to quit your progect. Lots of selection for buckels and rivets and I'd suggest to get a sample but dont buy a lot since EVERYTHING IS EXTREMEMLY OVERPRICED read more

Two of my leather handbags needed hardware replacement. I didn't have a store in mind but I was hoping to find something in the fabric district. It just so happened I found parking directly in front of this store. I went inside and was immediately greeted by the store associate. At first, I thought I was just going to purchase the hardware to repair the bag on my own but the store associate not only found the piece I needed but replaced it for me in the spot. He charged me $5 for the hardware and installation. The second bag was a bit trickier. He didn't have the screw I needed but he gave me a quick fix that he didn't end up charging me for. While waiting, I had a chance to look around at the selection of leather and hardware. I went here on April 2, 2014 to pick up hardware for a project. I was greeted upon entry by Bruce. He was very helpful and insightful. I had a flat black engraved item with sharp edges. Bruce sanded the edges down free of charge. I really enjoyed the experience here. He made me feel welcome. X Trims & Leathers can handle a project from concept to completion. It's also able to emboss on leather. It's unfortunate that I didn't know about X Trims & Leathers when I had my first sample made. read more

BEWARE OF THE OWNER! And his Partner! I waited to write this review because I tried multiple times to contact the owner after purchasing over $380 of snaps , buckles and other assorted hardware for my business. He charged me $50 for 50 snaps!!! I didn't realize this at the time until everything was paid. Then when I got home pieces of the sets of snaps were missing so they were useless!!! Then I found the buckles only had one half of the buckle! Hundreds of dollars of useless pieces! And the whole pieces of the hardware some were broken. I was so upset I contacted him right away he was so rude and basically called me a liar! All I asked for was to give me the pieces that were missing and replace the broken hardware. How would I possibly gain anything from that? He accused me of trying to get more for nothing. How could that even make sense!!! He refused to replace or give the missing parts of the outrageously overpriced snaps! I found the very same snaps after I left his store 100 for $10. He is a thief! This man needs to be exposed! I watched him make so many errors while I was in his shop while he counted my snaps ONE BY ONE and got distracted and lost count and had to start over and this happened several times. So I know that's why he didn't give me all the 4 pieces to make up one snap. After he ignored my calls & texts I did get through to a woman who I found out to be his business partner and explained everything she at first seemed like she was going to help and mail me everything but then she suddenly said that I had to drive back there to pick up the items. I live in Orange County not close to his store in LA. This was not easy for me to do being a business owner and working my shop myself. And why should I have to take time spend more money on gas because this man can't concentrate or count??!! And his hardware was so inferior that metal would break. Or he only packages up only one of a two piece buckle! I will continue to write my experience and update when I reach out to them again to demand once again to mail the items to me. Bruce if you're overwhelmed get more help! But that still won't change the fact that you steal and cheat your customers!!! And then u treat them like they did something wrong because u won't admit to your errors or maybe your guilty conscience!???? How do u sleep at night and for your partner you r NO BETTER. Believe me this review is not the end if I do pay u a visit I will make sure your customers know everything I've written here. U will regret asking me to return to your store. Lol read more

We needed buttons for jeans we bought that didn't come with them. A local fashion student told us this was her favorite place so we listened. This place has a whole wall dedicated to buttons, buckles and the like. It took us a while to get help because the owner was helping someone else. We took our time looking and as soon as he was finished he came to help us. He is not an effusively happy man but when we asked him to put the buttons on our jeans for us he did it! Mind you it's the type that you have to bang with a hammer. (As you can tell by my vocabulary I wouldn't have been able to do it myself as I know nothing.) In addition to being very helpful he let us buy single buttons, which is very convenient. I now have a skull encrusted button on a pair of current Elliot jeans. It makes me so happy. They Set Rivets For Your Project! I go to them to have rivets set to a canvas dog carrier and they do a great job. I think they maybe the only place in LA that will do this. Always super nice, and have helped me with sourcing some materials that they don't carry, for the tote. (I'm new in town) Also, they have a huge wall of leather trims by the yard and will make a custom belt for you using their materials within a few days time, if you need accessories for an up coming collection or presentation. Sav-Mor: Great for LEATHER - cheaper and larger pieces. (Got a GIANT bag - grocery bag size- of leather pieces all for $8 total). Love this place. You can find any possible type of hardware imaginable. Lots of beautiful leather pieces. I've made some gorgeous leather clutches from their one-off pieces. Eric, the younger worker is great, friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend. Their hardware is every limited and not as high quality. Simple, cheap leather (but high quality) no frills, great stuff. Great for small leather goods and for testing stuff (hand stitching, machine sewing, painting, gluing,...) or practicing. -Full size leather pieces (the whole cow): large variety of colors, textures, thicknesses,... Great for larger projects. -Some hardware: buckles, clasps,... but not as high quality -Leather tools: decent but limited but good selection -Leather paints, glues, finishes,... I went there to find hard to find leather items and metal findings. I found what I needed so I thought everything was good. The leather I purchased I asked if it would fade and was told no that it was dyed. But my black leather cord turned tan in less than a week. Also the metal findings that they sold me were extremely overpriced! They sold them to me for nearly 5 dollars each but that night I found them online for five dollars for 20 of them! To top it all off, they advertise to be open on Sundays but they are never there on Sundays. read more

I am seriously not a fan. I think both the owner and employee he has working there need to seriously learn how to treat customers and handle them professionally. I made a $15,000 cash transaction two times at this store and when I go inside, the owner literally can not remember who I am to save his life. I have done over 30 transactions in this store and the owner looks at me like he has never seen me before. When I hand someone $15 CASH and come back two days later to pick up my order I expect he has a clue of who I am. Once I went in there to talk about one of my pending orders and only his Mexican worker was in there and we got in to a huge altercation. He was the rudest most passive aggressive asshole (I'm sorry but he was), I have ever dealt with in life and in business. When I am handling thousand dollar orders I don't want to talk to an errand boy, I want to talk to someone who can make definite decisions.
