We were window shopping and noticed they make custom belts, so we decided to get one for my 8 year old son. We had his name added to the belt and my son got to pick what design he wanted to add as well. I didn't catch the name of the gentleman that helped us but he was very friendly and offered excellent service he sized the belt to fit my son and also measured so my sons name would sit at the center of his back. He also stained the belt to match my sons boots. The belt came out perfect! My son wears it everyday. I have paid a lot more for cheap looking belts, but at Murillo Leather we got a good quality custom belt for way less, could not be happier. read more

Back in October my boyfriend and I got the most beautiful belts made here. We each got our last name tooled in the leather and they are gorgeous. Loved it so much went back the next day to have dog collars made for our dog and for our friend's dog who we were staying with in L.A. Mr. Murillo could not have been kinder or provided better work. Where do I start? Armando and Lupe are trully wonderful people! Their business has been established for now 2 generations and now one knows why. What a sweetheart ! Came on a very chaotic summer afternoon in July. Had been here years before (still have the personalized bracelet from 2008) and I was very happy that his storefront was still open. Had 4 bracelets tooled (?)in less than 15 minutes. Bracelets are $10 bucks a piece. He was very patient with my indecisive family. Great work and fantastic quality. Also said he is happy to ship items. Parking around this area can be a challenge. We parked a couple of blocks away and paid 10 or 15 bucks. If you have time wander over across the street to the train station. I absolutely LOVE, Murillo Leather! I have bracelets made from him from 10 years ago and the leather is still in great shape. Of course worn leather is the best any way but you have a choice in what leather you want your bracelet and belt to be. Armando the owner works the station and is the nicest ever. He will make sure what you purchase is exactly what you want and a perfect fit for you. I had custom leather cuffs made for my bridal party with their names on the outside and in the inside the date of the wedding with my hubby & my initials. Our bridal party loved it and defiantly gave it a rocking personal touch. I also have 3 belts from his. Of course I got the replica of the Jessica Simpson belt me made for the Duck of Hazarded movie. The other two are super special as I was able to choice the leather belts I wanted and the design. Then, he made sure to cut the length for a perfect fit. If you are in the LA area, I recommend making a stop to Olvera St. just to stop by to Murrillo Leather. You will not be disappointed with the product nor the price. I love this placeee !!! My name is never found on anything or its spelled differently so i have to have things custom made. I got 2 belts from here and they look great you can even put a design with it like a star or something. I was to fat to fit any of the belts that were already made so he made one just for me with my name and you get to choose what color the belt can be. I got my dad a belt and had his initals put instead of his name. My cousin got her husky a dog collar and it looked great! They also do like custom leather keychains and bracelets. Went to Olvera St today with my girlfriend and didn't really know what to expect. While walking around she remembered that there was a "neat leather shop" there so we found it and wandered in. We started chatting with the leather worker and found out that he is the owner who inherited the business from his dad. What a nice guy he is. After looking at some of the stuff he had, we decided we had to get a couple custom belts. Armando was great in talking to us about the leather and I can't recommend his place enough. The next time I'm in LA I'll definitely drop by his shop and get another custom made something. Maybe a guitar strap next.
