It was also the new year once we arrived to our destination. If you can imagine, we weren't totally settled when we arrived. We called back to cancel our unit from being charged some time after the new year and left a message. Carla called back and said our unit won't be charged and we apologized for the delay in getting back to her. I'm not sure how but a message was left after where she had a few choice expletives and f bombs she had to say about us. Really disheartening considering we always tried to be as respectful as possible when dealing with the company. Overall the experience was great. But it really stunk to deal with that.

On the 4th day of the month they tack on $40 for being late and then another $15 on day 7 of being late and another $20 the following day after that. After 3 weeks they gouge you a little more but this time charge $75 and then after a month of being late they hit you with you next bill and an additional $100 on top that. In other words, they make it nearly impossible to get caught up. When they cut your lock they will steal your belongings and go through your belingings. They also have a large number and selection of units, from small, basic units to large, climate-controlled rooms. The area is monitored by cameras and in the two years of using their site, I've never had anything broken into or stolen. I typically get the basic units, without the climate control, and even in the humid Nebraska summers I've never had anything ruined. You have to supply your own lock and key, but that's about it. They also rent trucks for moving your items, although I've never used those and so don't know what the rates are.

His response was " no one else is having trouble and I can't discuss right now". Finally I got email back from him confirming he got the email even though I still got a message saying " undeliverable". (BTW, this was still within the 10 days required prior to vacating) We vacated the unit on 1/26 before 12:00. I again sent several emails with messages saying " undeliverable" . He finally called me today saying he will reimburse me $37.50. When I questioned his language on the first day, he denied saying what he said. He also said the system would not allow him " to refund me more. Also, the unit was full of leaves and spiderwebs the day I took it over. I would not recommend using Homebase storage. There are many other places in town to give business to, so please take my advice and save your money. Do not use Homebase storage..

Took advantage of the free truck rental with opening a new storage account. That was about the only…read moregood thing. The truck itself was disgusting. It was filthy and oh my god, it smelt so so bad. The lingering body odor was almost unbearable. Fast forward to returning the truck, I get a call from the business the next day and speak with Amy on the phone. The only reason Amy called me was to scolded me like a child because I didn't park the truck in the right place and then starts accusing me that I left their truck door open all night. ( keep in mind that it's unlocked 24/7) asked if she had evidence of what she was accusing me of and then she says that " the cameras can't see out there" I ended the conversation at this point. Thank God I don't rent from this location, because I would never want to do business with them again after that. It was insanely unpleasant and unprofessional.
