Beware, it can be like Storage Wars. When my rent was not paid on four storage lockers for two months in Budget Storage, the contents was sold by an auctioneer. Budget Storage has a corporate mindset and is only interested in their own profits. Don't be fooled by their friendliness.
I had my household belongings, heirlooms, and personal papers in four storage units for a very long time. I lost my Job and couldn't pay two months. After two months, everything was auctioned off. I wasn't allowed to take my belongings out before the auction due to my belongings being held as collateral. Extremely high late fees accrued. In two months, I owed one thousand dollars without being allowed to make partial payments or to remove anything. All my belongings and personal affects were auctioned off after two months. I found a job before the two months were up and before my belongings were auctioned off, but it was too late because I would have had to wait for my first paycheck. I was denied a postponement of the auction. I would have been able to pay for everything a week after the scheduled date of the auction if it could have been possible to postpone the auction, but Budget Storage would not postpone the auction nor accept partial payments nor let me retrieve anything. Budget Storage would not give me anyone's name of who bought my belongings at the auction in case of identity theft or shenanigans perpetrated by the person who bought my belongings at the auction because they had all my personal information. I am a working poor person who can't afford to legally fight for my legal rights nor prevent losing my household belongings and personal papers. Basically, somebody was able to gain thousands of dollars worth of my beloved belongings, my heirlooms, and personal papers for a few bucks through the auction. It seems like a very great injustice or unfairness. read more
