I had a very disappointing experience with Honest Engines. From the moment we arrived to pick up my…read moremower, we were treated with rudeness and haste. My dad dropped the mower off for me, and I was surprised to get a call almost immediately that it was already finished. No quote, no communication -- just a quick job and a bill for $154. When we arrived, there was no greeting -- just an abrupt "I can help you out front." As we tried to walk around the building, the owner yelled at us to come through instead. It was unprofessional and unnecessary. While my dad loaded the mower, I went inside to pay and asked for a breakdown of the charges, especially since the repair took under five minutes and all I suspected it needed was a spark plug. The owner became defensive and refused to give a clear explanation. He said parts were $74, including a spark plug and an air filter -- even though I had cleaned the air filter myself the night before and never authorized a replacement. When I questioned this, he got up and walked off. To my shock, I found him outside removing the new spark plug from my mower out of the back of my dads truck because I had asked him to outline the charges. As quick as it was to install a $154 dollar job is how long this took, maybe 3 minutes. He then came back in and demanded $120 for labor alone. I paid and left, but I will never return. The lack of transparency, rude attitude, and unprofessional behavior were completely unacceptable. I would not recommend Honest Engines to anyone.

Until, I ran across an add in Machinery Trader at Hamilton Equipment. Being over 2,000 miles away, I was cautious about purchasing a used machine so far away. But Dalton, my sales rep was on top of it. He managed to pulled out all the stops. From the time I first spoke with him, he had the tracks changed out, the servicing/inspection and the unit (with a trailer) shipped to me in under 1.5 weeks. All of this at a reasonable price!
