Nearly a year and a half later, I received a bill totaling close to $2,000--despite the sessions being basic stretching exercises. I contacted Kintsugi to understand the charges and the delayed billing. I was told the coding was done by the therapist and that the billing came from a third-party company--not Kintsugi. However, the bill had Kintsugi's name and contact number, which makes the attempt to shift responsibility feel dismissive and unprofessional. Not only were the charges excessive for simple stretching, but I also stopped attending because I could perform these exercises independently. What's most disappointing is that the billing was delayed until I was no longer working and on a very tight budget. This timing added unnecessary financial stress. During my call, the person I spoke with said he would inform the owner but couldn't offer any resolution. He later left me a voicemail saying he felt I was mad at him, which struck me as odd--I never made any personal remarks, nor did I direct any frustration toward him as an individual. The experience reflects poorly on Kintsugi's business practices and, ultimately, on the leadership that enables them.

The care from the PT's is excellent and compassionate. Have gone for 3 years for 3 big spine…read moresurgeries and a couple years prior for shoulder surgery. What I am disappointed with is a change in business practice and most major insurance companies (I have Aetna) and Medicare are no longer billed. Patients are expected to pay up front (my recent bill was $250) and submit to insurance for reimbursement. My care plan had graduated to every other week. I can't afford that and they are not willing to work out payment arrangements. (So much for loyalty). Insurance can take months to reimburse an individual. I can appreciate the impact to a business when insurance is slow to pay them but there has to be a middle ground for the patient. I was politely invited to seek care elsewhere if I couldn't pay. Wow! Just be aware the bills are steep and up front payment expected. The therapists are great but billing practice not so good. Also if you expect to speak with a live person it's rare. You usually play phone tag or send a text and hope to hear back. I really wanted to continue here but I'm afraid I probably can't afford it....

Tried to set up PT for hip pain. Had to wait 6 weeks to get in. Before I went I called to question…read morethe costs. Was told it was a small co-pay. I questioned that it was more than that and they asserted that it was not. I went to my first appointment, which was just evaluation with no actual recommendations made. 2 weeks later I get a bill for the full amount as it was not covered by insurance (after I asked twice for an estimation of costs). So, now instead of a $33 payment I'm stuck with $200 cost for absolutely no recommendation of ways to alleviate pain. Do not trust what the front desk tells you regarding cost! If I had known that this would only apply towards deductible and I decided to still move forward. I would have at least set up my first appointment in January and not do one appointment in December and basically flush that $$ away. Very frustrating!

I strongly believe patients privacy is a must. I asked to speak to the clinic Director but was never given the chance. We have a school aged child and PT interferes with his school. They did not inform us they were open on weekends. Along with they call you at random times to tell you that they have an opening when you're already scheduled multiple times out of the blue. The therapist are very kind and nice and compassionate. I would not recommend coming back due to the Milking of Insurance and Patients Privacy out in the open is not okay. I wondered if I was at the right place. After about five minutes a gentleman appears behind the desk, did not introduce himself or say hello but handed me a clipboard to fill out. Turns out this was the actual physical therapist. The assessment was completed & he started me on some exercises popping his head in about every 10 minutes to change the exercise. He attached some electrical stimulation equipment to my body - when I asked for an explanation of this machine I was given none. At the end of the session there was no discharge instructions - I had to ask what my plan of care was. During the course of care I teased out the reason it was so cold was their heating had broken and this was why it was very cold. After this experience I was not going to go back, however I thought maybe this was a one off due to the furnace break down. So back again for another try. There was a receptionist to greet me and more patients which was a good sign. The physical therapist however was again not very engaging, made me do the same exercises he had given the last visit (these were all done on my own, he wasn't present to correct or give me feedback). In addition he was working with at least 3-4 other patients concurrently. At the end of my appointment again the electrical stimulation machine, another female staff person unhooked me (no idea who she was as no introduction) again I had no discharge plan of care or follow up appointment. I work in the medical field - basics such as introductions, knowing who the professional are contributing to your care, education and good discharge instructions are the foundation of patient care. I have worked with physical therapist and been a patient as well - would not recommend this practice to my other active, sports minded friends who are motivated to get back to their full lives

Warning! Don't be fooled by the friendliness of this clinic. If you miss your appointment even for…read morethe first time, they'll gouge you. And take note, this clinic doesn't discourage patient/client to come in even when you are sick. So, if you visit this clinic and got sick, more likely someone was contagious and you got the virus from someone in the clinic. Here's my experience. I had a massage appointment on Monday, December 4, 2023. Sunday the night before, I got very sick with high fever (103-104 F), chills and body aches. Of course there was no way I could've cancelled it within 24 hours. So, I called the clinic on Monday (day of my appt) to cancel explaining I am very sick and have all these symptoms. The office manager/receptionist said she would cancel, without mentioning I would be charged a $90 fee, which is $31 higher than the insurance allowable amount! I reached out to the clinic via and requested a copy of my signed agreement regarding the cancellation fee and also said I have proof from my doctor that I was very ill (I went to see my doctor on Tuesday). They didn't send it and instead, the owner (Leshaw) replied "On December 1st we raised the no show fee from $50 to $90 and posted it at the front desk. We are not required to have patients sign a document when we raise rates or fees." The office manager who I spoke to, didn't have the decency to tell me they increased their cancellation fee to $90 as of December 1st nor told me she can cancel my appt but I will be charged the fee. How in the world would I know that if I have never been in the clinic since December 1st? I thought I was doing them a favor for not coming in. I didn't want to be responsible for getting anyone sick if I had come in. But the office manager clearly stated that they can't tell anyone to come if they are sick nor they will turn anyone away for coming in sick. What kind of healthy care facility would do this? They obviously don't care about the well-being of their staff nor their patients/clients. The worse part is, my insurance would've paid them $59 if I went. But instead, I paid $90 out of pocket. I've never missed appointments and even referred my husband to them. I called around and other clinics would only charge $25 for first missed appointments. There are many good chiropractors in the area. Don't waste your time on this one.
