This is a very shady company. in Fall 2022 I had a hand injury and needed PT. I was sent to Select. I paid my co-pays each visit. A year later I got a bill for over $1600 from Select. I checked my insurance claims and every visit on the bill had already been paid by the insurance company. The bill was for the DISCOUNT that the insurance company had contracted with Select. So now Select wants me to pay for the discount that THEY agreed to with my insurance. This company is pure scum. read more

I have never gone into a business in my life and got upset but these guys pushed me to the point of tears. I have been in extreme pain from a torn tendon on my shoulder and needed the help. First my physician told me I'll get a call from select therapy to schedule an appointment, but I never got a call from them. I tried calling their office number several times left voice messages and no one picks up or calls back. At some point, I remember living a voice message, literally begging to get a call back! On the day of my appointment my GPS dropped me off a mile away from their office. I knew I was in trouble because I was never gonna be able to get through to these guys for them to give me directions. I spent over 30 minutes driving around, trying to find their location which apparently was recently changed, which could be why my gps took me to the wrong location in the first place. Finally arrived at the office at 10:15 My appointment was for 10. Their was a lady at the front desk and when I walked in, she did not acknowledge me in anyway she basically looked at me and looked away, which got me fuming even more because I've already called them several times and the fact that someone was sitting at the front decks, just chatting with her lead or whoever it was, was just unacceptable to me. Basically, they couldn't help me because I was five minutes above their timeline. Even if you can't help me show some compassion and she basically didn't care! So I had to call my doctor to find me another physical therapist because I didn't think I would have to run around chasing just to get an appointment and have to beg my way for them to see me when they have absolutely zero customer service and zero communication skills. And the funny thing was the place was empty. There was hardly anyone there. so I don't know why no one picks the call and no one calls back. Anyways if you want to be treated like a human and you want a physical therapy place that actually cares about you find somewhere else. read more

It's been 2 months since my last review, and here's few things I noticed, first the name of the place had been changed, they blamed that as a reason for staffs meeting and training, so they started pushing back my Mom appointment to further down into the evening instead of morning as usual, and they also used that as a reason for scheduling once a week instead of twice. So I asked them directly why, and the girl at the front told me the morning usually got booked up because people scheduled them ahead of time, maybe 2-3 weeks prior which I decided to do the same, but hold on to that thoughts until after the second part Secondly after 20 visits they're seemingly frustrated with us getting appointments twice a week, they explained to me that they wanted my Mom to get better and eventually do this therapy once a month going forward, they also saying that the insurance company will start questioning them for that matter, etc so they made me fill out a survey of some sorts, alright no problems I know how my Mom feels and of course I wanted her to get better. Anyway back to the point where they called me today, and said they have to cancelled my Mom second appointment this week because they had to wait on the insurance approval, alright fine, you can stay home Mom. My point was since the beginning when my Mom started getting treatment here, the first person who did work on her couldn't figure out what was her issues and never got her the right treatment, so we wasted about 3 weeks of efforts until the second person came in and found the problem that causing her pain, then we were working on it for about 2 weeks, until my Mom had a major surgery that slowing her down for about 6 weeks not doing much of therapy and also the business transition for this location took place, I told the guy all of that and he seemed to agree; I even said I would speak to her doctor regarding that she needed more treatment, but he added that her doctor can say whatever he wanted, as a therapist he knows what best for my Mom, ok... a little pushy there, I don't know what's his problem here, he wanted to speak for her doctor as well, hmmm.... Up until the last session this week after he put her on the bike, she told me she experienced pain again, and as of now she's limping again, she even told me that next time please tell him not to make me work on that bike again, so that's a lot to say that my Mom is not fully recovered and I will give them a call tomorrow to let them know regardless if the insurance has not approved read more

I came to sell select PT for a neck injury, I was allowed only 6 sessions by my workers comp. Mallory was great. She is very knowledgeable and made my 6 appointments extremely helpful. For the first time in years I don't notice my neck and shoulder pain all the time. We reviewed a variety of exercises that I can continue on my own. I just completed my physical therapy today at La Mesa Physical Therapy and I am feeling wonderful. The physical therapist Nick knows what he is doing, together with his PT aids Kai and Jesse. All of them are not only very professional but they also know how to talk to their clients to make them feel good. Also, I like that each patient can be treated by the therapist in a separate room. Nick was able to assess & diagnose my problems without scans. He set up a treatment plan that gave me almost immediate relief, and continued PT has been excellent. Awesome place for physical therapy! I had a total knee replacement and called to set up prior to surgery. One phone call and they took care of everything. They literally called the surgeons office for the prescription then contacted the insurance company to get the approval. No worries or stress for me. Everyone there is very professional and friendly. They follow all the "Covid" rules. It's very clean and everyone wears a mask. They also check temps as you enter. As for the actual therapy Melissa and the others that help have been amazing. I've been going to Select (formerly La Mesa PT) since April and it was a great decision. Jordan was my PT and we discussed the areas that needed attention. I had some reconstructive surgery on my back and it effected my movement on my right arms, armpit and shoulder. I had numbness, tingling and stiffness through the impacted area. From April to August, Jordan had me do repetitive exercise using their thermaband tools, mini weights, etc. Every session got significant improvements based on the measurements Jordon recorded. I suffered a fairly serious shoulder injury while skiing last February (2022). I could barely move my arm due to pain/stiffness. MRI showed moderate damage to rotator cuff and surrounding tissue. Post surgery, after ~four weeks in a sling, I could barely raise my arm - extremely limited range of motion and significant loss of muscle strength. I was concerned that I would never fully recover the use of my arm, which is a problem for a very active person. After ~four months of PT with Jordan at Select Physical Therapy, I was just released with almost 100% of my prior range of motion and a noticeable increase in muscle strength to the point where I have returned to my normal active lifestyle. Jordan is a very capable, thoughtful, and well educated Physical Therapist who is largely responsible for my quick recovery from a fairly serious injury. His plan of care was progressive, well coordinated with my doctor's orders, and tailored to my exact needs. I came here for Physical Therapy after I had a Tibial Plateau fracture and ended up with a second fracture. I couldn't walk or bend my knee. I had no muscle left in my leg. I saw Nick for my therapy. I had vertigo (bppv) for 3 weeks. I'd seen 3 doctors during this time, and was advised by them that I could watch You Tube instructions of maneuvers to fix it myself, or to just wait and it would resolve itself in time. Attempting to fix the problem myself did not help, and I finally found La Mesa Physical Therapy and I made an appointment with Joseph Fielding. In just one visit he helped me fix my problem. I noticed right away that the positional vertigo was gone! I did wake up the next morning, and in fact for the 8 or 9 mornings, with a general dizziness which lasted for 3 or 4 hours each morning. Joseph did tell me that this "residual dizziness" was often the case, and he gave me some eye exercises to do which helped considerably. So exactly 10 days after the therapy visit with Joseph, I feel completely back to normal (no dizziness at all), and continue now - 13 days after the therapy - to feel great! read more

Amy and her staff are completely AMAZING!! I had a rotator cuff tear and was in severe pain and was convinced surgery was my only option. I was referred to LMPT for my back pain that I have had for about 10 years from a work related accident. From visit one, I felt the warmth of the staff. I see they are with all of the other patients as well, they are true and genuine with their desire to make the patients feel better. I knew my back would be a challenge since I have been in pain for years. But, Joe is encouraging that it will get better. Joe is insanely good at his job! I used this place 3 years ago when I had a hernia, and now I've had a car accident and I'm coming here again for my back problems. I went to La Mesa Physical Therapy for several months in 2018. My experience was extremely positive and will return if/when I need additional therapy for my shoulder and neck. Amy was my physical therapist and she is outstanding.
