I went to the SpineZone now called Spine & Sport Physical Therapy on Navajo Rd in 2022 for only 3 visits as the therapists didn't know what they were doing and made my back condition much worse with horrible pain. Now in Aug. 2026 I receive a letter from their data and archiving services that they had a data breach and my personal information was compromised by criminals! And to add insult to injury my husband's personal information was also included in this data breach even though he had never gone to this provider- SpineZone! This outfit SpineZone or whatever they're called now is NOT trustworthy to keep clients personal and health information safe and secure! Until there are criminal charges with monetary damages awarded to the victims of these data breaches they will continue to happen as these companies really have no incentive to safeguard people's personal information! BEWARE of doing any business with this untrustworthy company!! read more

First time doing physical therapy. The initial intake was very thorough. Nash asked me all the areas I had issues with and created a plan for my recovery. Workout area is fairly big. They have multiple machines where you can do recovery workouts, and a couple that are high-tech. "Dave" machines. Each time I come, the employees are very friendly and informative. Only downside is they are pretty booked so you have to book in advance. Located in a plaza, parking in the evening fills up fast so get there a few minutes early read more

Bon and Ranah are amazing with their positive can do present attitude; listened, lead and made our workouts fun as they pushed me while talking to me like one of their friends. 30% increase in my core strength never felt so good :-)! read more

Sophia and her crew are excellent, very professional, and friendly. I've had two prescribed series with them, one for sciatic and one for knees. I have continued on their maintenance regimen. The program at SpineZone Grossmont is exceptional. From the formula to the staff to the equipment, e is of the highest caliber. The staff is truly invested in clients: Their attention to detail and the well being of each individual makes for a very comfortable environment. And they know thei stuff! They are friendly, professional and take care to assist and encourage, while carefully helping the patient achieve strength and reduce (and in my case, eliminate) back-related pain. And the equipment is top notch. Best experience I could have hoped for. read more

Sophia at Spine Zone was my first point of contact and she was incredible. She asked detailed questions about my pain and listened intently. I appreciated the various tasks she asked me to perform in order to determine my strength and flexibility. She prescribed PT exercises I immediately did at home and I saw results fairly quickly. Follow up with Marcos was equally as professional. He asks questions about the level of intensity of the activity I need to complete and immediately adjusts based on my pain level. He is friendly, patient and encouraging. The interactions with the staff are always welcoming and professional. The online daily exercises are detailed and easy to follow. The text and email reminders are appreciated. I highly recommend the Grossmont SpineZone for outstanding physical therapy care. I was pleasantly surprised. read more

This was a wonderful experience with Spine Zone Grossmont. The PT itself has been great for taking care of my pain and for improving my range of motion. Add to that the awesome patient care from the folks at SpineZone, and I will be quick to recommend this location anytime someone is in need of physical therapy. Sophia, Ronah, Marco, and Ernie were all terrific with their care and with their incredibly helpful attitudes. read more

SpineZone is a safe, congenial, therapeutic setting for working on our wellness. The staff is kind, patient, professional and very competent. My back strength improved almost 100% in 17 sessions, and I have easily chosen to remain 'on board' as one of the many weekly 'alumni' of the program. read more

The staff at SpineZone are friendly and caring. They worked closely with me to make sure I was comfortable with the exercises and was always checking my pain level. I have not received that level of care at other PT facilities. The clinic is clean with specialized machines that you can't find at a gym. They offer a maintenance program which is a great way to help you stay strong and not relapse. I would recommend SpineZone to others. read more

I injured my lower back some months ago with a combination of Bad Habits, Poor Posture, and Aggressive Olympic Weight Lifting. My Doctor enthusiastically referred me to SpineZone, as he had utilized the facility himself and personally endorsed it. I must say...although it was not an easy journey to recovery, SpineZone certainly did their best to get me down that road as quickly and effectively as possible! This place was great, I'm very glad that my Doctor sent me to SpineZone! This is a facility that is run by an Intelligent, Affable, & Dedicated Staff! In my time there, I was instructed by at least 6 different Physical Therapists, and never once did any of them make me feel stupid or weak for not being able to complete or understand certain exercises! Each time I left SpineZone, I left with a feeling like I was another small step closer to regaining my Strength, and in turn, my life! Even in the midst of the Pandemic, SpineZone stayed in touch with me, periodically checking up on me to see how I was feeling, and gave me access to their extremely Helpful & Expeditious Online Program to continue my Therapy at my own pace! All In All, my time at SpineZone was an enlightening & enriching experience from start to finish! And aside from some minor soreness when I start to slip back into my own bad habits & improper posture, My Back feels Strong once again, and my posture feels so much straighter and more symmetrical, far more so than when I began the program! SpineZone gave me the tools to take back my Strength, I just had to make the Conscious Choice to use them, and follow their instructions & routines, which I will admit, can be difficult at times. But that's Physical Therapy in a Nutshell I suppose, it all comes down to conscious choice & of course, the proper guidance....which you will certainly get from this place! If you have the will, SpineZone is The Way:) read more

Back pain can be one of the most debilitating things that can happen to your body. I herniated a disk over 10 years ago. Went through regular physical therapy but unfortunately I rather flunked. The pain only got worse and my mobility go so bad I needed a wheelchair and could barley get out of to go to the bathroom. After 3 open heart surgeries my doctor did not want me to go through surgery to solve the problem. SpineZone was very new back then. But they really gave me my life back. To steal a saying they gave me back control of my life. In three months I was traveling again and snorkeling. No joke, yes I was still a little fragile but I got strength and flexibility back. You have to do a lot of work not only at their facility but also at home. I still have at least one herniated disk (old MRI) and have gone through the program more than once over the years. My fault for overdoing each time. But I enjoy a trailerable sailboat all over the west including Mexico and Canada. Slowing down a little at age 71 but still have fun playing an occasional game of pickleball. I am not an athlete but love the outdoors. I never have been to a gym. Wish I could give over 5 stars! read more

I have had back pain/strength issues over the last 10 years. After just a few training sessions with Alvona and the daily exercises she recommended, my back has improved to the extent that I feel confident with lifting that I would not be able to do before starting my therapy. I greatly appreciate Alvona and the team at SpineZone Grossmont for helping improve my quality of life. read more

Came from the UK because my brother in-law had great results with his treatment at SpineZone. I have been suffering from chronic lower back pain for years. In the UK they load you up with pain killers and never treat the problem. During an extended visit to my family in La Mesa I decided to give SpineZone a try. I am 3 weeks into my treatment and I have already seen great results. I have started walking again, taking short hikes, sleeping much better and best of all the pain is going and I have tapered off the pain meds, so my outlook on life is much brighter. I highly recommend the SpineZone to anyone that is suffering from back pain and is tired of treating the symptoms. Marissa (UK). read more

I have been a patient of Spinezone since July of 2020 in their Escondido facility which has now been relocated to Rancho Bernardo. The first year I was a patient with Benito, Pashall and Sophia. All 3 were very professional and knowledgeable but Sophia took special interest in my pain. After the year was over I continued with their maintenance program to make sure my issues did not return. Sophia has since transferred to the La Mesa facility but I still keep in touch to let her know about my issues. Sophia will always be a friend as she has made my life go on without pain! read more

I couldn't have hoped for a better outcome from my physical therapy. I am now pain free in my lower back.

I started going to SpineZone in 2016 after reoccurring back pain that left me immobile in bed. When the pain flared up it was so bad I could not walk or stand, or move at all. I had to be in bed taking drugs for 5-6 days until the pain was bearable for me to walk. I finally asked my Nurse Practitioner for an option other than medication. She recommended SpineZone. I worked with Nick on a regular basis and continued working with him once they moved to this location. Half way through my time there, I no longer had pain. I felt fully recovered after my prescribed number of sessions. I continued in their maintenance program for about a year or two going once or twice a year. The back pain has never come back! I found great success in working with someone on a regular basis so I am now going to a gym and working with a personal trainer to increase my strength, balance and help me lose weight. I cannot thank the people at SpineZone enough! They did an amazing job for my recovery and I thank them everyday! There are a very professional, friendly, and educated staff! We need more of these places in the world. San Diego is lucky to have them! I highly recommend them!! read more

I'm not sure how this place has such great reviews. My husband was referred here through Sharp for his lower back. His experience was subpar. He went twice a week for a few weeks and received generic services and no one could ever answer any of my husbands questions. It doesn't seem like this place does much patient teaching at all (if any). As a nurse myself, it bothers me to see clinics treat every patient with the same generic plan and no individualized treatment. They wouldn't even look at my husband's X-rays from his work with a chiropractor. Save yourself some money and download some back stretches and exercises online. Very disappointing and would not recommend. read more

5 star I have had back pain for years and tried everything from laser procedures, creams, tens units, exercise and opiods. I saw an article about SpineZone in the daily newspaper talking about how they helped people without doing surgery. I try everything I can and this was no exception. I have multiple back issues and SpineZone helped me back to almost a normal routine. I highly recommend them for people with back issues as they tailor a routine specific to your individual needs. read more

We contracted covid at the Spine Zone La Mesa on 12-17-20. We both were in a two week isolation, to spend time with family for the holidays, and only went to this one place. They have one of those "Magic Screens" at the entrance! Those fabric magnetic screens you must push your way in, as the fabric tries to close, and rubs your face and arms. Impossible to sanitize, even if they tried between each customer. They didn't. We have been so careful, masks, and following all rules. Now recovering. Ruined our Holiday plans, and put us at risk. It was such a shame that a business that can do so much good would be so stupid to put up a fabric step through screen. Called them, got no where. Guess we don't need to worry about it now that we have the antibodies. If you go there, refuse to step through the fabric screen! Art L read more

I have experienced significant positive results in lowering back pain and increasing overall strength. Staff members are genuinely interested in your health and progress. I would Highly recommend SpineZone if you have had no luck with other treatments for spine related pain. I have gone to the La Mesa location for 20, doctor authorized visits and am looking forward to starting maintenance next week. Maintenance is the opportunity to continue the exercises on their Unique equipment on your own. In the past, when PT was over, the exercises would slowly diminish in time. Here, you can continue coming in and progressing or maintaining the progress you have had, and the staff is there to guide you if you need additional help or have questions. My primary advisor was Janny, who was great to work with. Over the span of 20 visits I had sessions with All staff at some time, and every one of them does a great job. read more

I have had 2 Knee replacements and 2 back surgeries. I have suffered with a bad back for 6 years. My sister told me about spine zone and the great success she had with them. I gave them a shot to help me 6 weeks before my 3rd back surgery. I canceled my back surgery and back is doing way better. My 2 sciatic nerves have both been under control and I am still doing Physical Therapy with them. I recommend them highly cant thank them enough! Carl Dustin Carlsen read more

I've been going to Spine Zone for a few years. It's the best place to get reconditioned after an illness or surgery - or to avoid surgery all together. If you're deconditioned or you're injured it's a nice facility because it's not like a typical "gym" it's more a rehab gym. The MedX machines are super great, you lock yourself in so that all your efforts go to the area you're working. Have to also say the people that work there are great. They really dedicate themselves to your strengthening and reconditioning and they know what they're talking about! read more

SpineZone has a very good program with excellent service providers. It is an alternative to physical therapy. I successfully improved my back and wanted to do their maintenance program. I did so mornings once weekly for a couple months. But now the only times offered for the next couple months were Friday at 4 and Saturdays. These are times I spend with my family. It's a lousy policy and I am done. So you can get help for your back, but don't expect patient friendly maintenance times. Next time I will get physical therapy. read more

I was referred to SpineZone through Scripps. I had pinched a nerve and my left arm would go numb with certain postures like hands on hips, or sometimes typing at my computer. The staff was always courteous and answered all of my questions. I definitely recommend them for spine and back issues. read more
