First time doing physical therapy. The initial intake was very thorough. Nash asked me all the areas I had issues with and created a plan for my recovery. Workout area is fairly big. They have multiple machines where you can do recovery workouts, and a couple that are high-tech. "Dave" machines. Each time I come, the employees are very friendly and informative. Back pain can be one of the most debilitating things that can happen to your body. I herniated a disk over 10 years ago. Went through regular physical therapy but unfortunately I rather flunked. The pain only got worse and my mobility go so bad I needed a wheelchair and could barley get out of to go to the bathroom. After 3 open heart surgeries my doctor did not want me to go through surgery to solve the problem. SpineZone was very new back then. But they really gave me my life back. To steal a saying they gave me back control of my life. In three months I was traveling again and snorkeling. No joke, yes I was still a little fragile but I got strength and flexibility back. You have to do a lot of work not only at their facility but also at home. I still have at least one herniated disk (old MRI) and have gone through the program more than once over the years. My fault for overdoing each time. But I enjoy a trailerable sailboat all over the west including Mexico and Canada. Slowing down a little at age 71 but still have fun playing an occasional game of pickleball. I am not an athlete but love the outdoors. I never have been to a gym. I injured my lower back some months ago with a combination of Bad Habits, Poor Posture, and Aggressive Olympic Weight Lifting. My Doctor enthusiastically referred me to SpineZone, as he had utilized the facility himself and personally endorsed it. I must say...although it was not an easy journey to recovery, SpineZone certainly did their best to get me down that road as quickly and effectively as possible! This place was great, I'm very glad that my Doctor sent me to SpineZone! This is a facility that is run by an Intelligent, Affable, & Dedicated Staff! In my time there, I was instructed by at least 6 different Physical Therapists, and never once did any of them make me feel stupid or weak for not being able to complete or understand certain exercises! Each time I left SpineZone, I left with a feeling like I was another small step closer to regaining my Strength, and in turn, my life! Even in the midst of the Pandemic, SpineZone stayed in touch with me, periodically checking up on me to see how I was feeling, and gave me access to their extremely Helpful & Expeditious Online Program to continue my Therapy at my own pace! All In All, my time at SpineZone was an enlightening & enriching experience from start to finish! And aside from some minor soreness when I start to slip back into my own bad habits & improper posture, My Back feels Strong once again, and my posture feels so much straighter and more symmetrical, far more so than when I began the program! I have been a patient of Spinezone since July of 2020 in their Escondido facility which has now been relocated to Rancho Bernardo. The first year I was a patient with Benito, Pashall and Sophia. All 3 were very professional and knowledgeable but Sophia took special interest in my pain. After the year was over I continued with their maintenance program to make sure my issues did not return. Came from the UK because my brother in-law had great results with his treatment at SpineZone. I have been suffering from chronic lower back pain for years. In the UK they load you up with pain killers and never treat the problem. During an extended visit to my family in La Mesa I decided to give SpineZone a try. I started going to SpineZone in 2016 after reoccurring back pain that left me immobile in bed. When the pain flared up it was so bad I could not walk or stand, or move at all. I had to be in bed taking drugs for 5-6 days until the pain was bearable for me to walk. I finally asked my Nurse Practitioner for an option other than medication. She recommended SpineZone. I worked with Nick on a regular basis and continued working with him once they moved to this location. Half way through my time there, I no longer had pain. I felt fully recovered after my prescribed number of sessions. I continued in their maintenance program for about a year or two going once or twice a year. The back pain has never come back! I found great success in working with someone on a regular basis so I am now going to a gym and working with a personal trainer to increase my strength, balance and help me lose weight. I cannot thank the people at SpineZone enough! They did an amazing job for my recovery and I thank them everyday! There are a very professional, friendly, and educated staff! I'm not sure how this place has such great reviews. My husband was referred here through Sharp for his lower back. His experience was subpar. He went twice a week for a few weeks and received generic services and no one could ever answer any of my husbands questions. It doesn't seem like this place does much patient teaching at all (if any). As a nurse myself, it bothers me to see clinics treat every patient with the same generic plan and no individualized treatment. They wouldn't even look at my husband's X-rays from his work with a chiropractor. Save yourself some money and download some back stretches and exercises online. We contracted covid at the Spine Zone La Mesa on 12-17-20. We both were in a two week isolation, to spend time with family for the holidays, and only went to this one place. They have one of those "Magic Screens" at the entrance! Those fabric magnetic screens you must push your way in, as the fabric tries to close, and rubs your face and arms. Impossible to sanitize, even if they tried between each customer. They didn't. We have been so careful, masks, and following all rules. Now recovering. Ruined our Holiday plans, and put us at risk. It was such a shame that a business that can do so much good would be so stupid to put up a fabric step through screen. Called them, got no where. Guess we don't need to worry about it now that we have the antibodies. If you go there, refuse to step through the fabric screen! Art L read more

I have experienced significant positive results in lowering back pain and increasing overall strength. Staff members are genuinely interested in your health and progress. I would Highly recommend SpineZone if you have had no luck with other treatments for spine related pain. I have gone to the La Mesa location for 20, doctor authorized visits and am looking forward to starting maintenance next week. Maintenance is the opportunity to continue the exercises on their Unique equipment on your own. In the past, when PT was over, the exercises would slowly diminish in time. Here, you can continue coming in and progressing or maintaining the progress you have had, and the staff is there to guide you if you need additional help or have questions. I have had 2 Knee replacements and 2 back surgeries. I have suffered with a bad back for 6 years. My sister told me about spine zone and the great success she had with them. I gave them a shot to help me 6 weeks before my 3rd back surgery. I canceled my back surgery and back is doing way better. SpineZone has a very good program with excellent service providers. It is an alternative to physical therapy. I successfully improved my back and wanted to do their maintenance program. I did so mornings once weekly for a couple months. But now the only times offered for the next couple months were Friday at 4 and Saturdays. These are times I spend with my family. It's a lousy policy and I am done. So you can get help for your back, but don't expect patient friendly maintenance times. Next time I will get physical therapy. read more

I was referred to SpineZone through Scripps. I had pinched a nerve and my left arm would go numb with certain postures like hands on hips, or sometimes typing at my computer. Often it was often very painful. SpineZone's recommended stretches and exercises helped correct my posture and strengthened muscle groups which have completely eliminated the pain and numbness. I've been going to Spine Zone for a few years.It's the best place to get reconditioned after an illness or surgery - or to avoid surgery all together. If you're deconditioned or you're injured it's a nice facility because it's not like a typical "gym" it's more a rehab gym. The MedX machines are super great, you lock yourself in so that all your efforts go to the area you're working. Have to also say the people that work there are great. They really dedicate themselves to your strengthening and reconditioning and they know what they're talking about! read more
