Over the past week, I called multiple times, on different days and at different times, regarding a refill of her daily blood pressure medication. I left voicemails and messages and received no response. When I finally reached someone, I was told the prescription would not be refilled until she was seen in the office. I explained that my mother recently suffered a femur fracture and is currently unable to come into the office. She has been taking this medication regularly for years, and it was continued throughout her recent hospitalization. Despite explaining that she was completely out of medication, I was told the request would need to be approved by the doctor. Unfortunately, no one followed up, and subsequent calls again went unanswered. My concern is not simply the refill itself, but the lack of communication and inability to reach anyone when an elderly patient has an urgent medication issue. Patients and caregivers should be able to receive timely responses regarding essential medications. Because of this experience, I am now looking for a new primary care physician for my mother.

Only for the San Diego location:…read more This was by far one of the worst medical office experiences I've ever had. The issue is not the doctor, it's the team running the office. I had an appointment scheduled for 8:30 AM and was not seen until around 11:00-11:30 AM. That's nearly a three-hour wait in the waiting room, followed by additional waiting time inside the exam room for the doctor. Completely unacceptable, especially for a primary care office where scheduling should be managed properly. It was very clear this is a systemic issue. While I was waiting, multiple patients were complaining about the same thing. This is not a one-time situation, this is how the office operates. The lack of organization didn't stop there. After my visit around June or July, it took about a month just for the referral to be sent to my insurance, which didn't receive it until August. Because of that delay, my authorization eventually expired. Now months later, as of March 31, I called to request a new authorization. They took my information and said they would call me back, but they never did. I understand systems can go down, but there is no follow-up, no accountability, and no sense of urgency. The front desk and administrative staff are extremely inefficient, unresponsive, and disorganized. For a team this small, there is no excuse for this level of poor service. Again, the doctor herself was not the problem, but the team completely undermines the entire experience and patient care process. I would strongly advise others to avoid this office unless they are prepared to deal with excessive wait times, delayed referrals, and no follow-up. This office needs serious management intervention.

Elahe Toulouie, MD - Definitely not sanitized between patients. They don't even clean the offices.

Dr. Cheffet was extremely diminishing of parental rights. She was pushy and disrespectful. And eventually threatened me if I wouldn't vaccinate my child in her practice under a vaccine schedule (that is now obsolete). Did you not get your big payout for the percentages of patients you vaccinate??? I might've messed with her percentages so she retaliated by breaking my HIPAA rights and reporting me for " negligence" to CPS. We took my son to her very regularly. He got support for every need. She doesn't respect parental rights. I wouldn't be intimidated by her. We have a medical exemption because my child has a very high allergy Profile, neurodivergent and high risk for adverse reaction.. At one point she said there was no risk in vaccinating so I said I would agree if she would sign to be Financially liable, if there were any adverse effects. of course she refused.... Hack of a "doctor". Deplorable ethics. I hope she gets the karma for all those parents. She intimidated for her big vaccine payouts. She's going out on now. I'm gonna report her to the medical board. Gross.

If you like the type of doctor that isn't in-n-out, she is the one to see. She takes time to hear out any concerns you or the patient may have and does a thorough examination in order to address those concerns. Dr. Cheffet is also very knowledgeable in sports medicine, although, she is not a sports doctor, she does know what she is talking about. She also is an Internal Medicine doctor. So, if you are looking for a doctor, come see her, she is awesome! Dr. Cheffet is no longer at this practice, but I hear she has relocated to another one still in town. If you're lucky enough to find her you won't regret it.

Here's how my recent visit went: 1:55 PM - His nurse, Amy Markley, calls to tell me there's been an accident and traffic is bad near the hospital. Despite my appointment not being til 3:40 PM, I tell her I'll be sure to leave early. She says that they're actually slow right now, so I can come anytime. 2:20 PM - I get checked in and am sitting in the waiting room. 2:40 PM - Despite being "slow", I finally get called back to an exam room after 20 minutes of waiting. 3:25 PM - Dr. Doan finally is able to sit down with me. In case you didn't do the math, that's over an hour of waiting after being told they "were slow and I could come in anytime"! At this point, my cell phone is dead and my patience is gone. Now, I know what you're thinking. (1) It's a doctor's office, and they're usually never on time. I say that's BS. It's called an appointment for a reason. Keeping a someone waiting for over a hour is disrespectful, no matter what profession you're in. What makes their time more valuable than mine? Nothing! Again, it's just disrespectful. (2) Sometimes emergencies come up and a doctor can get behind on his schedule. Okay, I understand that. But really, an hour?! AFTER being told by the nurse that they "were slow and I could come anytime". And during my wait, I was never told they were suddenly running behind or that another patient was having an issue. I was left just sitting there. As a resolution, before I left, Dr. Doan offered to have a Patient Representative from Sharp Rees-Stealy contact me. Three work days later, I still hadn't been contacted. Just disrespectful. SMH.
