Stopped in on taco Tuesday to check out the specials. Inside is rather small but outside they have slot of tables to enjoy the view of Pewaukee Lake. Sat at the bar and the service was great. The margaritas were good although served in a plastic cup, not really the best presentation. The two-for taco special was nice, a couple of tasty tacos, one nicely cooked steak and another ground beef that had a nice spice to it. Worst food I've had in a long time. Looked around at other tables and all food is made with the same ingredients. Tasted like what I'd get at my school cafeteria in taco day. Nacho cheese was gross. They could at least use an old El Paso taco mix to add flavor. Very disappointing because the atmosphere is fun and the wait staff was so friendly. Picture looks better than what it was. We stopped here during an afternoon at Pewaukee Beach. My sister was in need of some air conditioning so we walked across the street to have a margarita at the bar. The place is very small. maybe 10 tables inside and maybe 8 outside. Service was immediate. I was confused by the menu which stated they only serve margaritas on the rocks but there were two frozen machine dispensers, regular and strawberry. The bartender told us the machines were relatively new. One thing I did like was that the tequila was poured in your cup and is stirred in with the mix. I guess that was for those, not wishing indulge can get a virgin version, I got mine half regular and half strawberry (with tequila of course) No free chips and salsa here, but I was not surprised because I read it on someone else's review. I also read beans and rice are not included with the meals. You have to order them, WHAT! That had to be a mistake but it is true-All we had for food was a mushroom quesadilla to share The bartender was very friendly and knowledgable. I saw quite a few people taking food to go. Also there is a Mexican food truck in Hartland that's top notch on cottonwood avenue. We spent a lot of time in the Lake Country area this summer and decided to stop at Seester's for dinner one evening. This is a cute spot right across from Pewaukee Lake that is always hopping. I had a margarita; it was good if not terribly memorable. We started with the chips and guacamole and loved it. Then it was on to the tacos. These were fine but I've had better elsewhere. If you are looking for more authentic Mexican food, this isn't the place for you. What really sells this place is the ambience....it feels like a party. The service was good, the staff friendly. Yum, yum, yum!! We stopped in to Seester's this past weekend without a plan, and were so glad we did. There is a lot of seating (though maybe a little squished), and a full bar. Even the bathrooms are thoughtfully decorated, making up for the slightly older building it is in. The atmosphere was great, but the food was even better. Do not pass on the chips and guacamole - it's some of the best I've had. I was stuffed and still couldn't leave any on the table. We will definitely be back. read more

Great location when the weather is awesome and is right across Pewaukee Lake. Service is great considering the Limited seating due to the virus going around. The food was great but the price point could be considered overpriced for some people who are on a budget. Had 2 tacos and a can of soda for roughly $12 plus a tip. Very nice experience. This little place right across from Pewaukee lake and beach has a small inside and small on the street seating. Please know that is not a bad thing as it is very laid back and a good vibe, especially on a summer day. Came here with my wife and kids (13 and 8) for lunch. Kids had giant quesadilla and one had the pork tamales. Adults had the steak and chicken street tacos. They gave you a mild, not so mild, and at my request a really not so mild habanero sauce. All the food was delish, as were the margaritas!! This place is a fun, solid stop for any meal. read more

From California, so can safely say I don't tend to have the highest of expectations for Mexican food in Wisconsin outside of the South side. It sounds like the food can be hit or miss, but a group of friends and I made a last minute drop-by after a lake day and we had no complaints. Super accommodating staff who were honest about the time limit for our larger group, very clean service In The setting of a pandemic, and large and delicious meals all around the table for the price. Most of us ended up boxing something up to take home, and we were in and out in under an hour. If we find ourselves in Pewaukee again, I'm sure we'd give it another try. read more

What a dump, and the food is deplorable. Had the Chicken Enchiladas and the sauce on it tasted like tomato soup. Rice was cold and the beans were cold and runny. This is our new fav place! In past years we've grabbed a bit to eat outside regularly. Last night we ate inside and everything was above and beyond. The food was all amazing. They may have made menu changes because other reviews mentioned rice and beans were not included but the menu states rice and beans are included with all entrees. The margaritas were out of this world and I'll be getting the sangria over and over going forward. Seasoned chips amazing. Guac super fresh. Hubby loved the habanero tequila. The weirdest thing about my visit to Seester's was sitting with my elbow 6 inches (honestly, 6 inches) from the patron sitting next to me. The tables along the wall had so little room between them, that when the guy at the next table left, he had to squish sideways to get out... with his ass hanging over our table. I had to lean to my left so that my face didn't rub against his ass. Guess I shouldn't complain, it could have been his penis (dang which is worst)! Pretty good service, really liked our waitress, too bad the food and value offered is a bit off. But then they don't have to offer good food or good value, they are on a lake. The place was packed and too cold for outside seating, but we didn't come for the outdoor seating, we came for food. After sitting down we were fortunate to have a nice couple next to us, they didn't seem to mind being able to listen in to our conversation without even trying. We actually all laughed about it. Come on Seester's - a little consideration... take a table out and give us a little room. That's the problem with this place, they know it's uncomfortably close (impossible not to know) and don't care. I can only assume they care only about maximizing their food orders, not their customers satisfaction. This lack also showed by not offering chips and salsa. Saving a bundle there, huh Seester's? It showed too in my 3 enchiladas, nice tasting dish but where's the beans and rice. I was so disappointed when my dish showed up without 'em. I love beans and rice with my Mexican dishes... but nooooo, no beans and rice for you! Really, how much did you save on my beans and rice. Every penny counts right? It's really too bad because my chorizo enchiladas were pretty good. My partner said her quesadilla was just OK. I've been going to Seesters since the day it opened. I have always ordered any of their tacos...delicious. Today my experience starts with a chip falls on floor and noticed the entire floor was disgusting! Is the kitchen this dirty? I decide to order something different...steak quesadilla...horribly dry. I couldn't finish 1 slice. side dish of bean temperature like right out of the can. I have not complained and ordered a cheese/onion enchilada. Cold and not cooked in middle. I asked nicely to have it heated up. I watched the ladies in the kitchen and they were put out by this request. they put my plate as is in the microwave. now my lettuce/tomato are wilted/soggy and the cheese has totally been over cooked and melted out of now empty dry tortilla. I didn't complain. in fact I ate it. i got home and became violently ill out of both ends!! I went through a violent food poisoning episode!! What happened to this place. the entire experience was horrible! where are the negative stars?! read more

Placed a to go order the evening of June 17, 2023 upon arrival they were very busy, staff was rude, but I waited to give them my daughters name for our order. I was told nothing was ordered under that name, I then showed her the confirmation number and was told that yep the bar is too busy we aren't putting to go orders in the system! What?!?! So she asked if I would like to wait for it they would get it done right away, there was my mistake I should have said no! We get our food go home to eat and we end up with food poisoning! The inside is decorated nicely with interesting Mexican art and standard pieces to take you back to Margaritaville. Inside seating is limited, but there are a few prime tables outside, during summer. Our young waitress was great and on top of the daily specials. We stopped in on a Friday and I got the Friday Fish Tacos Special- which was a spicy tilapia taco. It was good. My son liked his Steak tacos, although he did want the Authentic Steak Taco, and received the normal kind. They were still good. Prices could come down. $2.50 for a can of Coke? Also- a can? Get a fountain, and refill it if you're going to charge that much. Also, food is generally overpriced, but no major complaints besides that. read more

Asked for chips and salsa and got stale seasoned chips that were likely weeks old and purchased at the local Pick N Save. I've had these generic chips before, they are terrible and we were charged $5 for them. Salsa was bland and flavorless, not home made for sure.. They have a lunch menu item called burrito / burrito bowl. To me that reads it's either a burrito or a bowl, you choose.. Well, they came out with a plate of meat buried in slop. I said I wanted the burrito but waitress said that's how it's served they could put it in a Tortilla but that usually costs more. It was cold and flavorless. Was supposed to come with rice and beans (said so on the menu). They forgot that and acted like it didn't come with but got me some anyway. Avoid this place. Slow inattentive service, bad food. The location of this restaurant is prime, so why management isn't addressing service issues is hard to understand. Faster service=more tables served. Stopped to grab food on a HOT Friday night, after waiting for a table it took a bit for the waitress to come by for a drink order. We asked for waters, which were warm and without any ice added. This was the last of drinks from the waitress. She came back to get our order, we ordered chips and salsa (not included here) we were ready to order our food too but she walked away before we had the chance to finish our sentence. We waited 10-15 mins for chips, no offer to refill drinks. Put our food order in ... Took over 45 minutes to get our food (which was two orders of tacos and a side of beans... That's it) In that time the waitress never came back to check on us. My boyfriend went inside the restaurant and refilled our waters three times. When the bill came we gave her the card before she got the chance to walk away, we had already been there almost 2 hours. The chips were more than the price in the menu, wasn't even worth questioning at that point. You need about triple the wait staff, and more attentive ones at that. read more

I haven't even tried my food yet but I was just charged $17 for a vegetarian burrito. Yes, you read that right. No meat. A burrito of lettuce, tomato, cheese and beans. I asked if I could do avocado instead of meat and then thought it would be easier for them to just do guacamole. I was charged $5 for guacamole that was put in my burrito. One would think that going to a restaurant on a lake, in the off season, you'd get good service. Well, in addition to having to buy bad chips and tasteless salsa, I felt like a managed to irritate the waitress within the first 5 minutes I was there. All of December is supposedly taco Tuesday, 2 tacos for $5. Don't you dare try to order more than 2 tacos at the discount, 2 is the limit. Also you can't trust the menu prices. The old "bait and switch technique" is alive and well here. When I inquired why my bill reflected a higher price than the menu stated I was told it's because of the fine print stating "prices are subject to change." That's not what that phrase means. Our waitress told me she'd adjust it on my bill, she didn't (I'm a math capable adult, even after a margarita). On the topic of menu prices, they aren't listed on their website. I found them on door dash, just to be very disappointed that their restaurant menu prices are up to $2 more expensive in the restaurant. The 1 star is earned because their $11 margarita was actually worth it. At Seester's you are dining with a great view with food on the side. Here the view and atmosphere is the top seller. The food comes secondary, but if you go into it knowing that, you will enjoy yourselves. The food is not incredible, but the views make up for it. The one reviewer who complained about Soda by the can...? Yes the serve soda by the can. Maybe they don't think you should be allowed to sit in one of the limited views drinking free re-fills all day. That is not out of line. They need to make a profit and if your table is drinking $1.99 sodas and a table waiting wants $8 drinks, it's pretty easy to see why the charge for each soda. Last time I was here I had a quesadilla and it was very good. We also had the nachos, which were pretty "American" style, but still good. read more

Had dinner here with a party of six at ~5pm on a Sunday night. It was nice out, so we got to sit on the patio; we enjoyed our food with the views of Pewaukee Lake on the side, as a bonus. Sitting outside whilst eating always makes my heart happy. :) Service was standard, prices are fair. For starters, my party and I ordered the combo basket of chips (tip: you can get 1/2 seasoned, and 1/2 plain chips!), pico de gallo and guac to share. The chip dips were very fresh and yummy. The chips were fine, though I thought the seasoned ones were a bit too seasoned. For my entree, I got the fried avocado taco, which came with chips & salsa on the side. Oh. my. GOODNESS. this taco was so, so good. I ordered it because I've never seen on a menu, nor eaten, a fried avocado. Ahhhh. This was so yummy. I topped it with some pico de gallo from our appetizer, and boy oh boy, was it perfection. On the other hand, I also ordered a taco steak single taco, which was so very, very disappointing. It wasn't good--in fact, it was sorta yucky. My friend ordered two of their single tacos, and said his meal wasn't good, either. The rest of our table felt pretty neutral about their food, so I guess, all in all, I'd say that maybe things are a hit or miss here.
