We tried a variety of dishes and everyone loved it! There is a 5 minute wait for a table, but they were slammed. Somehow even when busy service was quick. The location is beautiful, with murals on the walls and bright colors.

We stopped here during an afternoon at Pewaukee Beach. My sister was in need of some air conditioning so we walked across the street to have a margarita at the bar. The place is very small. maybe 10 tables inside and maybe 8 outside. Service was immediate. I was confused by the menu which stated they only serve margaritas on the rocks but there were two frozen machine dispensers, regular and strawberry. The bartender told us the machines were relatively new. One thing I did like was that the tequila was poured in your cup and is stirred in with the mix. I guess that was for those, not wishing indulge can get a virgin version, I got mine half regular and half strawberry (with tequila of course) No free chips and salsa here, but I was not surprised because I read it on someone else's review. I also read beans and rice are not included with the meals. You have to order them, WHAT! That had to be a mistake but it is true-All we had for food was a mushroom quesadilla to share The bartender was very friendly and knowledgable. I saw quite a few people taking food to go. I'll write another review of the food when I go again

Great location when the weather is awesome and is right across Pewaukee Lake. Service is great considering the Limited seating due to the virus going around. The food was great but the price point could be considered overpriced for some people who are on a budget. Had 2 tacos and a can of soda for roughly $12 plus a tip. No refried beans or rice was included in the price.

Chips salted and seasoned guacamole and a salsa salsa's not my favorite

Great food and service! It's even better in the summer- right on the lake! Try the enchilada verde and margaritas!

This is a fake Mexican restaurant just getting by because of its location with a lake view.

We were seated promptly and the place was almost full for Saturday dinner. After a short wait, they brought us table waters and left a large bottle of water for refills. I was a little disappointed that they didn't get us started with chips and salsa as is typical for most Mexican restaurants. They have a nice liquor selection and an expanded page of a variety of Tequilas and specialty margaritas. The menu is limited to only one page but focuses on a nice variety of appetizers, Tacos and meals. For starters, we ordered the Chips and pico de gallo. The pico was very fresh and tasty and came with a generous portion of tortilla chips. For dinner, we ordered 3 tacos each - Manolos Bam Bam chicken tacos, Milwalke taco, Shrimp cilantro tacos, and the Quasi birria taco. When they arrived they seemed pretty small but our eyes were bigger than our stomach. Each soft corn tortilla taco was loaded with the selected meat and accompanied toppings. Each one was very delicious with generous amounts of chicken, shrimp, and steak with just the right amount of spice. After 3 of them I was stuffed! For dessert, we tried the stuffed Churros which were lightly coated with cinnamon and came with 2 dipping sauces of chocolate and creamy donut glaze. So good! Overall, we had a great experience at Contento.Nice atmosphere for lunch or dinner. The Lucha Libre pictures and wall paper in the men's bathroom were very cool!

Found out tables were only available via reservation which I thought was a bit odd for a Mexican restaurant but we were offered a seat at the bar so we jumped on that. Inside the decor was festive with a number of Frida pictures and great wallpaper in the restroom. We ordered guacamole and tacos. The guacamole came out quickly and was tasty, with a slightly sweet twist due to the pomegranate seeds and chips just as I like them. I ordered the milwalke and manolos bam bam tacos. I preferred the bam bam because it was filled a bit more but I didn't love the mayo based sauce on either. I would've preferred that on the side or, even better, an offering of salsa instead. I would've loved to review their salsa but only heard about it as I was finished up and it was offered to the couple sitting next to us at the bar. I was excited to try here but there were a few misses during our visit so we'll head to other local restaurants when we're in the area for a more satisfying meal next time.

It's set up to order at the counter, they give you a number, and then bring out your drinks and food. When we arrived we were greeted by a super friendly staffer. Since it was our first time she explained the process, told us we could open up a tab, which allowed us to get drinks and guac while we decided on the rest of our order. Our drinks, a Margarita and Paloma were both very good. Generous pours, with interesting seasoned salt on the glasses. They had brought us a small complimentary basket of chips, with some Salsa. The Guacamole that we ordered came with another batch of warm chips. The Guac was was good (not great). We like it a bit chunkier, and it didn't taste "just made fresh". After a short wait, our food came out. We got a "Uno Dos Tres", with Empanada, Tamale, and Enchilada. Each of those items was very good. The favorite, Beef Empanada was larger than we are used to, deep fried?, with some guajillo cream that was delicious. The Carnitas was also very good too. It came it hot, very tender, and a good portion (took home leftovers). Throughout the entire meal, the staff/servers checked on us, got us additional napkins, and some waters. Very attentive for having counter ordering. With the exception of the Guac, the meal was excellent. Definitely come back again.
