I have been a See's candy customer for probably over 50 years. I regularly order around the holidays and they send me or give me the five dollars off your next purchase coupon Today I was in the store digging for my coupon. I couldn't find it and the sales person did not even offer to take the five dollars off, as they have in the past before I even presented my coupon. Disappointing that I spent over $100, and while it's my bad for not being able to find my five dollar off coupon. And whilel my previous shopping at See's, the cashier has always rung up the five dollars off before I even dig out my coupon. This is another classic See's shop where you just cannot go wrong. With excellent chocolates, all the variety you'll ever need, and excellent customer service, it's a great stop on the north side of Reno, especially if you're heading into the wilderness on the way to Susanville with almost no businesses for 90 minutes!. Perhaps the only knock against them is that the Scotch Kisses, my favorite item, were a little stale, hence the only See's that has ever failed to get a five-star rating from me. When I first moved to Reno from the east coast, I didn't understand everyone's obsession with See's. I grew up on Whitman's Sampler and Russell Stover chocolates, which are very inexpensive. I didn't get what was so compelling about more expensive See's Candies. NOW I understand, though, and I agree that it's worth the hype. The quality of the chocolate is so high, and the customer experience you get from going into the store is exceptional. They have lots of pre-packaged options, but I get the 1 lb box so that I can pick out all the random chocolates that I know my husband likes. The employees are so friendly, and they both take their time while being cognizant of customer throughput. You really can't go wrong with See's candies. It has a been a treasure over the years. I love this location because it is far less busy than the mall location. The staff working are always kind and welcoming with a smile on their face. They always have some form of delicious sample to try! While their candy is certainly pricey, it will always be worth it to me. The store is clean, bright, and organized well and it is easy to find whatever you're looking for. I am personally a huge truffle fan and will often buy a variety box as well as a box of just Key Lime. For my Birthday this month I was gifted a huge box of chocolates from Sees (oh yes I'm pretty spoiled!). It was personalized with some of my favorite chocolates. I was told that they chose this location over the one inside the mall due to foot traffic. It was nicely organized and wrapped beautifully, I am a huge believer in "it's the small details that matter" We have since been playing chocolate roulette! lol It won't take long before they are all gone! Namely, the fun, sassy and sweet Aussie that is almost always here when I come in! She's the best (how have I not noticed her name, forgive me!) She always has a comedic quip lined up and a sample for my palm! She even helped with my Mother's Day purchase when I forgot the discount coupon I had at home! This is my go to chocolate shop. I grew up with a box of Sees Candies being part of every holiday. In my younger days before someone unfortunately told us sugar isn't healthy for us, I bought boxes for myself. However most of my purchases have been a couple pieces at a time, to justify them giving me the free sample. Yes. I fess up. I go for free stuff. Sees has stayed true to that tradition. I gotta say it's amazing that wonderful tradition has remained. I prefer chocolates loaded with flavor. I like nutty maple pecan type chocolates. I broke with that tradition and tried some fruity creams. Lemon, and others. Honestly, I couldn't tell the difference between the different fruity flavors I tried. They were all yummy sweet and satisfying but the lemon didn't taste very lemony to me. This probably proves I'm definitely the maple pecan person I thought I was. However...you can absolutely buy their assortments with every confidence that they will all be delicious. They have many great pre boxed assortment choices. Even though I prefer the NORMANDIE when I buy one or two...if you're thinking of buying me a box...I like the nut and cream assortments! A little of everything please. As I said, my particular favorite cream is the NORMANDIE. It just has everything right for me. It has nuts, and to me, the most outstanding flavor that qualifies as a "taste sensation". That special flavor you can't get anywhere else. But, one chocolate leads to another...so in trying to eat less sugar I've decided a Sees lollipop gives me the most bang for my sugar buck. I could consume many many...many many many...chocolate creams in less time than it takes to finish a lollipop. I consider these lollipops a sort of diet food when you consider how few calories one lollipop contains compared to the whole box of chocolates! (:-) LoL My favorite flavor lollipop is the butterscotch. It's deliciously SWEET. I tried the Latte and it wasn't sweet enough for me. However my husband always prefers less sweetness, so many coffee loving people probably love the Latte. . Something for everyone. If you haven't been to Sees lately...stop in. These ladies are so nice. And the feel of these shops hasn't changed in the decades...many many many decades, I've been coming to Sees. That's part of the charm. Time stands still. Wife and I came in to the store to get 6 various boxes of candy for Christmas. We wound up leaving with only 4 because of two things. First Betty started helping my wife and Kathy K started helping me. Kathy was so helpful very very slow but helpful. Betty helped with one box and went and did something else without anyone else in the store. Left Kathy to help us with everything. Kathy was friendly but slow. Betty was quite rude and seemed extremely lazy. So zero stars for Betty and customer service but 4 stars for Kathy and her friendliness. read more

A nice place with nice people! You know chocolate is always good and some chocolate is well better than other chocolate and sometimes that is just a matter of taste and there is no accounting for taste. But what makes the difference between one See's store and another? What makes buying expensive chocolates pleasurable? The people. You got to have nice people. And that's what I have found going here for a pound or a whole Christmas or birthday load. And why I like going back. The people have always treated me well and I will always preferentially go somewhere (or avoid it) based on the people. I came from the Meadowood location because they were out of Rum Nougats and I wanted a box of them for a gift. Erin at Meadowood was kind enough to call this Sparks location to have them fill a box for me and set it aside. When I came here, another Erin (spelled Eryyn) was the most helpful and kindest person. She made the box for me, filled my bag up with free goodies and was overall a wonderful human being. First off did you know they will not allow photos to be taken inside the stores??? Well that's what I was told when visiting this location while looking for a gift for a friend. So as I walked in the store, your welcomed not only by the sweetest staff, no pun intended. But the aroma of the sweet treats, and the yummy goodness. I walked around an was offered samples, but I was completely honest with the lady when she asked me "Why dont you come to See's more often, well I replied it's just not for me unless I'm shopping for a gift like today, but overall for me my selections are bare and the prices were another reason why I dont shop there. She was very understanding, an said I'm not judging you on an opinion. No worries. But after making my purchase, butterscotch something's! Sorry it has caramel and marshmallows inside. Who does not like candy. Seriously, this store brings you back to when you were a child. I guess that is why the saying goes," like a kid in a candy store." Fair warning, this store is like Costco, you go in with one item on your list and come out with a shopping bag of goodies. See's has been around since 1921 producing high quality candy. Around each holiday you will find confections themed to that holiday. It may be giant chocolate Easter eggs filled with fudge chocolate, or solid chocolate turkeys for thanksgiving, large and small Santa Claus figures in chocolate, candy canes, and there famous stickers in four flavors. There assortment of individual chocolates with all kinds of different fillings is huge. To entice you more they give you a free sample of a chocolate, a very dangerous thing to accept if you are hungry or have a sweet tooth. They also have a small section of sugar free candy. More expensive than the grocery store, but the quality is so much higher. read more

We really love going to See's. We like to either get a small box or just a handful of candies. Our favorites are the different truffles. Our absolute favorite is definitely the Apple Pie Truffles. I love these even more than the darkest chocolate truffle they have available. It's that incredible! We also love the Chocolate Chip Dark Chocolate Truffle (not positive on the name, but it is something like that). This one has the best dark chocolate flavor of all in my opinion. This is after several taste tests....lol I know my dark chocolate and this is THE one. After we get those two, we often mix it up a bit. Some of the others we really like are: Pumpkin Pie Truffle, Pecan Pie Truffle, and Dark Chocolate Blueberry Truffle. They have always been really nice when we go and they usually offer you a free sample. All of their candies are now gluten free, too! read more

My kids went into this store to buy Easter gifts and were ignored by the staff. They were not offered samples or any help even though other adults in the store were helped. My daughter was able to make her purchase but my younger son had to put his back after waiting almost ten minutes, because he was ignored by the workers when he went to pay.
