I want to take a moment to show some love to the See's Candy inside the Merced Mall. When my family and I walked in, we were greeted warmly by a woman who appeared to be African American. I didn't catch her name because honestly, I wasn't even planning to buy anything. I'm not a candy person at all. I walked in with nothing more than a craving for a Snickers bar. I asked if they had anything that tasted like a Snickers, and she pointed me toward the milk chocolate with caramel and nuts. Let me tell you, it was on point. So good that even someone who is not a candy fan enjoyed every bite. Then once my family realized we were actually buying candy, nobody could decide what they wanted. That is when another employee, Eve, stepped in to help us. She was patient, kind, and completely understanding the entire time. People like her make a world of difference. I appreciate anyone who provides customer service with that level of care and makes you feel like your money matters just as much as anyone else's. Thank you, Miss Eve. I went today Sunday earlier and Alishia helped me out. It was busy and only two ladies were working. Some people walked out because the waiting was long. No samples were spontaneously provided. My mom had to use verbal prompts to receive one. We go to see's once a month and spend over $100, Merced doesn't have a variety of stores to choose from, so we will continue to go, but not in holidays. read more

See's Candy is one of my favorite places to shop. However, the candy I bought yesterday was old. I got a box of Peanut Brittle and it was not fresh. Also got 3 slices of the walnut roll and the center was so hard I could hardly bite into it. I was very disappointed. I thought the sales lady should have known it was too hard when she cut it. Very friendly people and they are happy to hang out samples. The cheapest way is to buy the gift cards from Costco, if you can eat a lot of them. I just wish they have the sugar free options not only just in box set. It's in the mall so very convenient. read more

I'm not really sure if there is anywhere in Merced that's strictly a candy store but maybe that's because I've never looked. Sees is where I go for my candy cravings. Everyone I've ever met that works there is friendly and helpful. The cherry cordial its heavenly and the coconut bon bon and butterscotch kiss are close seconds, for me at least. read more

See's is the best place in Merced to get your chocolate fix if you don't mind spending a little money. The chocolates are great and they will always give you a free sample of something which is great if you're looking to try something new. Everything I've tried is great, and I don't even really like sweets. Excellent quality, great service, awesome candies! The only downside to See's is the price, but it may be because I'm a poor college student. read more

Poor college student that's a chocolate aficionado is not a good combination. So my chocolate fix is usually tamed with Hershey kisses from the dean's office, brownies from club meetings and M&M's from the dentist waiting room candy jar. From time to time I will pass by See's in the mall with friends and go inside to buy something. If you've been to one See's, you've been to them all. I personally enjoy the lemon bourdeu's or those dollar truffles. Hang around long enough and they'll hook you up with a free sample. Friendly people too. read more

The service here is wonderful! I personally enjoy the truffle selections. I usually come here to get something sweet to give to a relative, or to curb my own sweet tooth. They are very helpful in finding exactly what you want or need. read more

I give them a five star rating not only because they have the best chocolates around but because I was in the Merced mall store on Saturday 12/19/15 and there was a woman in there that was having some trouble. I am not sure why, but an employee named Michelle came to her aid by giving her a chair to sit down in while she waited in line and gave her something to fan herself with. Michelle stayed with her for a bit until she seemed a little better and then she took care of me. When I left I looked back and Michelle had moved the lady's chair to the register to help her check out. As I was walking away I thought, what a great woman she is for going above and beyond to help her customer. Great customer service and a good deed for the day!! Merry Christmas Michelle. read more

I'll have to try that because I'm only familiar with the plain bordeux chocolate truffle--and if they ever stop making that, I really, really, really, don't know what I'd do. I've already told my husband that on my death bed I only want two things--A Bombay gin martini and a Sees Bordeux chocolate. I almost can't wait--that's how sick I am for these things. Both are truly and literally to die for. I only wish that the Sees chocolatiers would come up with an entire line of alcohol and wine-infused truffles. Can you imagine a Kentucky Bourbon-mousse truffle? But, I digress. A friend used to send me a 2lb box of Sees from California when I lived in Chicago. I'd pop a bottle of decent champagne and eat the first pound on Christmas Eve, then pop another cork on New Years Eve and devour the second pound. Fanny May is the chocolate of choice in Chicago, but I never darkened their door again; and once my friend cut off my supply, I had to move out here to get it on a regular basis.
