Ever been somewhere and left feeling like you were treated less than? That was my experience at See's Candies Thursday evening of 4-2-26. I walked in with my family of five, excited for a sweet treat and in admiration about the Easter decor on display. We were patiently in the back of the line with no behind waiting. While we stood there, Vanessa came out from the side with chocolate caramel samples--super kind, welcoming, and genuinely pleasant. I appreciated her energy right away and thought oh wow they give you samples while you wait cool!! When it was our turn at the counter, I noticed customers before me asking for other samples in the display case, so as a first-time visitor, I figured I'd try one I saw in the display case too. I asked for the open almond caramel with a chocolate bottom but was met with a loud sigh (by another staff member tending the display case chocolates) because I took a second too long deciding between that and another option the marshmallow caramel--- there was no one behind us. Immediately, I felt uneasy and rushed. I went with the almond caramel chocolate bottom--and I'm honestly glad I sampled it because the caramel was much harder than expected and not easy on my teeth. Then my teenage son politely asked for a double chocolate sample, and that's when things took a turn. The associate looked at us and said, in a very sharp tone, "After this, I'm going to have to charge you." She even started pulling out two pieces before I told her we only needed one. It wasn't just what she said--it was how she said it. The tone felt accusatory and unnecessary, especially considering I had already told her this was my first time there. Had I known there was a strict sampling limit, I would have chosen differently from the start instead of taking the caramel sample offered earlier. I then made it verbally clear I was purchasing, not just sampling and leaving and did so by stating that. She then realized how she came off as I'm sure she was not expecting me to say so. In fact, I still went ahead and bought several pieces (and added more), but the experience was already soured. What made it worse was noticing that the same energy was not given to customers before me--if you know, you know. I will not be returning to this location. Vanessa, however, deserves recognition. She was warm, patient, and made the checkout experience pleasant. Unfortunately, her coworker's lack of professionalism and poor communication overshadowed the visit. I had to explain to my kids that sometimes you will run into people like this unfortunately and to brush it off as they were frustrated with the experience as well. read more

We absolutely love this location inside the Chandler Fashion Center Mall. A trip to the mall is not complete unless we make it to this side of the mall to grab our usual - 3 selections each in our own small bag. The employees are kind enough to mark our bags, so we don't get them mixed up. There are so many good chocolates to choose from. I usually go for one chocolate something and a couple of truffles. The wife mixes it up all of the time. Then we look at all of their displays to see what is being featured at that time. And, of course, you cannot leave the store without checking out their lollipops. I go for the root beer one while my wife likes anything that tastes like coffee, like a latte flavored one. Lately they have done some cool collabs too, with other companies like Squishmallows. They had a clear bag that came with several chocolates and some stuffed animals from Squishmallows. Genius. I recommend stopping by to get some treats the next time you're at the mall. read more

Not only was Sami helpful and pleasant over the phone but showed her excellent customer service skills in store. With it being holiday rush time, See's had at least four employees behind the counter that I could see. Sami described the chocolate fillings with a smile. I would got "nuts" if I had to repeat this same info 96 times a day! Why 96, you ask???? Think about it........on average, they may serve at least 12 customers an hour. Multiply by an average of 8 hours is 96! I feel for all the retail employees especially at this time of the year and try to smile, be patient and show them a bit of holiday spirit! read more

I want to recognize an outstanding employee at See's Candies named Teegon. When Teegon is on shift, the chocolate shop feels more welcoming, upbeat, and genuinely enjoyable. I purchased a one pound box of candy that was half Vanilla Nut caramel and half California Brittle. The candy was for a person who lives in a state that doesn't have a See's store. I was informed that the vanilla candy was old and stale. I was very upset that this happened, and it ruined the gift. It was location # 0258 in the Chandler Mall. I'm aware that the candy is made off site, but they should keep track of when their product is passed the freshness date. Now I will have to go through the trouble of getting a refund, since their product did not meet mine or my recipient's expectations. read more

Growing up in California, naturally See's Candy is a staple of my childhood. You'll find this store next to the Macy's on the first floor, in case you are wondering about parking. (Yes, I drove to the mall just to visit See's Candy and promptly went home after buying a box of assorted lollipops. For myself. No shame.) Their Lollipops are 80 calories a piece, and definitely worth it if you're attempting to diet and need something tasty but long-lasting to satisfy your sweet craving. I tried their Chocolate Orange Lollipop today and it was SO good - this is coming from someone who doesn't really like chocolate orange flavors in general. Their Vanilla was always my favorite out of the non-seasonal lollipop flavors. I'm anxiously waiting for their Pumpkin Spice Lollipop to be released as I have not tried it yet! Now if you AREN'T trying to diet, the chocolate candies are your go-to. The apple pie truffle is amazing, but I think it's only seasonal? My favorite candy by far is the milk chocolate bordeaux, but they're honestly all super good. When I was a kid, my favorite candy from the boxes my mom would bring home are the molasses chips! This particular location is really small and tucked away in a corner just outside of Macy's in Chandler Mall. They typically have free samples available when you come in and the employees that I've encountered have always been relatively friendly, kind, and helpful (there was one that didn't fit that bill but I think she was just having a really bad day). I am not a candy eater, but my wife is a chocoholic freak so I go here a lot with her or for her. I was just there this morning to pick up more candy for her since she was running out. I just thought I would mention the fact that they are always very courteous at See's and they do something very carefully that I most other establishments don't. When you buy some candy, they have various box sizes -- half pound, one pound, two pound, etc. etc. When they put your box on the scale when you are paying for your candies, the scale automatically adjusts for the weight of the box, whether it be the small half pound box, or a big five pound box. You might not think that this is a big deal, but some places don't do this or the adjustment is not very accurate. Also, I was using a gift certificate for one pound of candy so they filled the one pound box full -- when they weighed it, the weight was not quite one pound so they gave me the two extra pieces in a small bag. Most places just fill the box and call it even. So I think that See's concern for customer service and giving the customer full value for their dollar is very good, especially in today's "bad customer service climate". Incidentally, my wife says that the value to price ratio of See's candy is even higher than Godiva Chocolates, Bill Blase chocolates, etc. etc. She should know -- consuming maybe 50 pounds of choc candy each year!! read more

Is there anyone who hasn't tried See's at one time or another? I think they are like the fast-food of the candy world. Quick, consistent, and good enough for most occasions. One thing I miss at this particular location is the service. Whenever we went on our semi-annual Christmas and Mothers Day trip to get a box for my Mother-in-law at the old See's store across from MCC, it seems the ladies behind the counter were always sweet, friendly and Grandmother-like. I was given a choice (!) of a raspberry-filled nutty truffle, or a dark chocolate walnut, and I chose the walnut. The two walnut pieces offered to me were fantastic! I'm a crunch-junky AND a lover of dark chocolate, so these dark-chocolate walnut confections had me enamored. I was almost tempted to buy some, but I was here to procure some chocolate bars for my nephew and sister to enjoy when Mom hands them over upon her arrival in Charlotte on Friday. See's offers many chocolate bar varieties, including milk chocolate, milk chocolate w/ almonds, milk chocolate w/ toffee bits, dark chocolate w/ almonds, and extra-dark chocolate. All 1.5 oz. bars are priced at $1.55, plus tax, w/ the exception of the extra-dark chocolate, which I believe costs $2.05 (plus tax). These are pricey, but they're of very good quality-- I love the dark chocolate w/ almonds myself! Oh, how I wish I could have more of those dark chocolate walnuts! (Psst! Two one-pound gift certificates, great for gift-giving, are available through Costco for $26.99! A good deal, as I think the confections here go for $16.99 a pound. i am fan of see's. i especially like the dark chocolate. i purchased a gift card for my niece to send to her for halloween and for myself i picked up two of my favorite lollipops, and a 4 oz halloween cat box ($5.25). It is a small box of yummy treats and It's just the right amount of chocolate without feeling too guilty. i recently sampled the dark chocolate raisins and the lady that worked here was so kind to wrap up my sample because i told her i hadn't eaten lunch yet and i prefer not to have my sweets on an empty tummy. read more

I can't really say anything bad about the chocolate... for Pete's sake it IS See's! However, I will say this- the customer service at this one is hit and miss. Some days the associates will want you to sample everything in the store and other days they'll say each customer is only allowed 1 sample a day. WTH!
