The views surrounding this enchanting hotel is so beautiful. I was here while pregnant and my stay couldn't have gotten any better. The staff was amazing so helpful & kind. I definitely recommend this hotel. Not knowing that the kitchen was closed, I had a pregnancy craving of chocolate swiss ice cream and they were so kind as to fix me a few scoops. The service was great no matter they only had one English menu. The food was fresh from their area and prepared to perfection. Both the cauliflower and carrot soup were the best we have EVER had. My husband and I like to walk from Lucerne or Meggen through the forrest and farm fields to…read more the village of Küssnacht. Its a good 2 hour hike past working farms with beautiful views of Lake Lucerne. You certainly work up an appetite by the end and Lunch at Küssnacht should be the reward. This is the third time in 2 years that we have chosen to lunch at Hotel du Lac Seehof . The setting of the quaint hotel is oh so beautiful. Picture post card stuff with tables and chairs parked lake side under shady trees . The staff are very friendly and efficient. The menu features lots of local fish and time honoured pork schnitzel which i ate once pre my Yelp days and found ok, but sadly todays choices were very disappointing. We shared something described at vegetarian "frühlings rolle" - ie Spring rolls with salad.. The salad was fresh and crunchy but the Spring roll was decidedly un Chinese.. And Nothing crispy about it at all. It was more of a soggy vegetable pie heavy on the curry spice and cabbage component. One bite was one bite too much and i left it. This was followed by our main course which was the chef s version of a swiss beef hamburger. It arrived and looked great. The hamburger was served in a bread roll bun skewered with a cocktail stick and paper flag proclaiming a "Seeburger Tip". This suggested cutting the hamburger into four quarters for easy eating. lt came served with a small glass bowl of cocktail sauce on the side. I was surprised by this as a tomato or barbeque sauce is the time honoured accompaniment to a beef hamburger but then the waiter also simultaneously deposited a Heinz tomato Ketchup bottle on the table. Also on the plate were a generous portion of fried chips served in a cute reproduction newspaper bag.. A nostalgic nod to British chips wrapped in newspaper .. Unfortunately the chips were the best thing on the plate and ended up being my main meal . Mega dissapointing was the swiss beef burger which tasted like a "caterer s pre made patty" and had been smothered by the chef in Cocktail sauce. The hamburger sat atop coleslaw that was also soaked in mayonnaise. There was a slice of swiss cheese on top of the meat patty, a couple of slices of green cucumber pickle and a piece of fried bacon all soaked , nay drowned in the cocktail sauce. What ever was the Chef thinking?! I tried salvaging the hamburger by removing from the bun to the clean surface of the plate, but all i could taste was cocktail sauce. I soon gave up and just ate the chips washed down with a "panache" or Radler of beer. I have to admit that the chips at least were good.. Dry fried and CRISPY! We declined coffee but as we left we saw the couple at the table next to us enjoying coffee and cake. The cake looked great as did the ice-cream sundaes on other tables . Maybe that was our mistake. Next time we should stick just to coffee or dessert. The meal was so disappointing that I am giving the restaurant one star only because of the incredible lake views and the crispy chips.

CU (see you) restaurant is next to reception area so lacks ambience, but the food and service was excellent. Plenty of outside parking and only 5-10 minutes walk from rail station.
