This was our first meal in Switzerland and Lucerne and this was one of the more memorable dinners as it was by the river with an amazing view of the Chapel Bridge. I recommend making reservations early or in advance if you want outdoor seating by the river; however you could also try your luck like we did and fortunately got a table for an early dinner at 5 as another table was leaving when we were arriving. Amongst three of us, we shared the bratwurst, the pork schnitzel, and the Aelper Magronen (essentially a pasta dish with potatoes and cheese in a creamy sauce). All the food was good but on the higher end in terms of price but you're mostly paying for the view (worth it!). I would not mind trying this place again but there are so many other places along the river if you're hoping to find a scenic and yummy dinner.

A cute spot for lunch in Luzern! Located right along the river with a view of the city, it's a great spot to sit. And if it's nice out, definitely grab a spot outside... it's great for people watching. This is also a great spot if you're looking for Swiss food, or to try local ingredients. We started with the meat and cheese platter (the cheese comes from a local farm in Engelberg) and it was delicious! I ordered the alpermacronen which was super yummy... I'd recommend this! They also offered bratwurst and lots of other dishes! For dessert we ordered the coupe Denmark which was yummy too! It's on the pricer side for restaurants on this street, but if that's ok with you, the food and experience were worth it.

One of the top dinners we had in Switzerland. First, the atmosphere is magical. We sat on the terrace, which is on the first floor and overlooks the river and the famous Chapel bridge. I highly recommend making reservations- anywhere you go in the country. It was very easy to do online here. We started with the Aperol spritz and the Hugo- of course both were delicious cocktails. Our group tried the perch in a curry foam, which was beautifully cooked and very tasty. I fell in love with the city's traditional Luzerner Fritschipastete- puff pastry with a veal and mushroom filling. It is incredible here- a must try. Service was also excellent. I also have to comment I went inside to use the restroom and the inside is beautiful.

This is a 5-star hotel all the way! Hotel Schweizerhof Luzern is one of the most beautiful and…read morenicest hotels I've stayed at. Its location is primo, right along the Lake. Directly across the street is beautiful Lake Lucerne. Our room was very nice, and my only criticism is the bed is too firm for my liking. However, that seems to be the norm in Switzerland, as other places were similar. I really appreciated the spa area on the 5th floor. There is a dry sauna and steam sauna plus resting areas with day beds, and showers. Additionally, the flowers and plants within the hotel were amazing. The arrangements were so nice and healthy. That was such a nice touch to enhance the beauty of the property. The breakfast provided by the hotel is also very good. I also appreciated the complimentary sparkling water and soft drinks in the rooms mini bar. The tap water is unbelievably delicious and has a nice mouth feel. It is clear the water in general is soft. After showering my hair felt soft, and using the Dyson hair dryer provided made my hair feel soft and silky. It really is the best of the best, I'm so lucky to have stayed here.

I had the best sleep of my whole vacation here. And the little surprise treats really made the time here feel special. Not to mention the location- perfectly walking distance to both the train station and the city center. Unexpected bonuses are powerful A/C and perfect sound-proofing and blackout shades. I would live here if I could!

We were initially waiting for the restaurant to have an open seat but we ended up staying at the bar. The bartender Julia was so sweet and welcoming. She gave us some recommendations and everything we ordered was on point. The drunken chicken, naughty chicken sandwich and truffle fries were so good. Excellent service and great food, so much so that we came back to the bar for more drinks and food event hough we aren't staying at this hotel.

Reservations and arriving: Made via message online or a call; we did so as part of our stay at the Hermitage. When checking in, the front desk was very gracious noticing that we had an upcoming reservation and called ahead letting the restaurant know that we are running a little bit late due to the check-in process. Rooms: We were personally shown to our rooms, and we really appreciated the walk-through. There are lounge areas including the bar area behind the front desk, and some quiet lounge chairs outside overlooking the lake, and inside with a pool table and additional seating. Clear warnings of possible mosquitos so we definitely appreciated the heads up before opening the windows in the evening! Stunning views of Lake Lucerne with generously sized rooms, and effort to be eco-friendly, and kind service. Food: Brunch was buffet style with plenty of seating and lots of variety. Loved the natural or firmer honey choices, bread choices, fruit, chia pudding, yogurt, boiled eggs, sausages, drinks, etc available all with lakeside covered seating options. Took one star off for a dinner experience with the associated restaurant Hermitage. Amenities: Spa area includes changing rooms and sauna rooms, no hot bath area or pool so this is for relaxation and also some private rooms are available. Water sports can be arranged with the front desk. Great stay that was quiet and polite and easily accessible in Lucerne!
