I finally got to try sandwiches here that my workmates have been raving about, and I'm happy to…read morereport that the hype is real! - Apple turkey: this has really grown on me. At first I felt the gooey pink cranberry mayo was a bit funky, but in the presence of crisp Granny Smith apple slices and soft brie cheese, it makes sense. 4/5 - Chicken salad: one of the first things that stood out was the top-notch tomato slices that greeted me, and it got better from there. The chicken is a 'pulled' type although I can't tell how, but all the ingredients, including the multigrain bread, were just as they should be. 4.5/5 - Carrot chocolate chip cookies: these look and taste much like pumpkin chocolate chip cookies to me, which is to say that I like them. I wish they had a stronger carrot flavour, but I know that's a tall order. These are the doughy, soft type which I don't mind at all. 4/5 Parking is aplenty, staff are quick and friendly, and I love a good local family business. I hope they stay open and keeping serving the delicious for many more years.

People in the know, are aware that there are three separate components to this farm. The carrot barn is where all the good stuff can be found. Fresh produce, local homemade jellies and sauces, and some incredible sandwiches and baked goods. Friendly staff, clean store, ample parking, and decent prices. The greenhouse has a large selection of plants, fruits, and vegetables. You can even take your food and sit in the greenhouse as there are tables and chairs. Open year-round so the inventory changes with the Seasons. Highly recommend that you visit.

We have been buying our food from Pam through the Peekskill Farmers Market for over two years and…read moreare extremely happy with her and her farm. She also serves the Albany area through local deliveries and operates her farm year-round. Her farm produces beef, eggs, chicken, pork and many types of vegetables. All of which are USDA certified organic and are far superior to anything that you would find elsewhere. Pam is extremely pleasant to deal with and has a background as a nutritionist and started her farm to grow the best organic food possible after seeing that people were becoming sick after a lifetime of poor nutrition. She also posts recipes on her website which we found to be very helpful. With all the misinformation out there, it is important to know where your food comes from and support local farmer you can trust.

The exterior is misleading & easy to pass by if you're not in the know - don't let it fool you! Breakfast is only served on weekends between 8 AM & 1 PM & we just happened to be there. Service was extra warm & welcoming - we had our pup with us & it was a not so great weekend weather wise & while we offered to order & sit outside at a table as to not disrupt other diners, they managed to put us in their back room so no one had to eat out in the cold (Pepper can't write her own review, but she says thank you, two paws up!) While the menu is small, one item is better than the next & you can't go wrong no matter what you choose! Prices are reasonable for everything you get & in today's economy, it's a rare find! The apple pancakes were to die for & honestly, the biggest pancakes I've ever seen! Fresh biscuits with maple butter (YUM!) Don't pass up on the extra creamy & delicious chocolate milk! Seriously - can I get an IV drip of that? This place is the embodiment of farm to table (obviously). Zero frills, but full authenticity of a working farm. Wonderful place & wonderful people. They have lots of their goods for sale too, so you can take Buck Hill Farm home with you! We bought their delicious bourbon maple syrup, fresh herbal tea, hot sauce, & took some ribs back to the house to grill for Father's Day! Plenty of full & happy bellies even after leaving the farm. After breakfast, swing by the chicken coop & thank the ladies for the delicious eggs! LOL We hope to visit again next time we are in the area!
