Deceptive Billing Practices, Misleading Confirmations, and Predatory Quotes! If I could give zero stars, I would. Before booking anything, I texted this office directly to ask if they take Anthem Blue Cross for cleanings AND a sleep apnea mouthpiece. Their text back was crystal clear: "We do! And we do all of the above." (Check the screenshot attached). Any dentist offering sleep apnea devices knows these mouthpieces are covered under medical insurance, not standard dental insurance. They knew full well what I was asking for, yet they told me they covered it just to get me through the door. Are they that desperate for patients? I drove 45 minutes each way (an hour and a half round trip) for this appointment. It was only after they brought me back and put me in the chair that the dentist dropped the bomb: they don't actually bill medical insurance at all. To text-confirm "we do all of the above" under my insurance beforehand and then admit in the chair that they refuse to file medical claims is a blatant bait-and-switch. Instead, the dentist. last name Lapin, tried to play it off like no dentist bills medical insurance (only retired ones with nothing better to do), then pitched me an outrageous $5,000 to $6,000 cash price out-of-pocket. That is more than double what these custom devices normally cost. Luring someone into an appointment with false promises on insurance just to try to trap them into a massive cash bill in the chair is completely predatory. When I called them out on wasting my time, they were smug and dismissive. They waived the consultation fee, but didn't even bother to offer a basic apology for wasting almost two hours of my day and gas money due to their own line of BS. Do not trust what this office tells you over text or phone just to get you booked and in the door. Save yourself the headache and go to a real dentist who actually knows what they're doing and isn't incompetent, overpriced, rude, and arrogant. read more

I'm having major dental work done. I had a procedure this past Monday. This Sunday, I had a dental emergency related to that procedure. Within a half hour of leaving an emergency message, the office manager, Kaitlin texted me. After our text exchange, she had Dr. Rubinstein call me within the next half hour. He directed me what to do. He called me back in the two hour wait time to see if his instructions worked. As planned, he called me back. It worked! I was in his office early Monday morning for the follow up. The front desk, Alexis was warm and friendly upon my arrival. Dr. Rubinstein's nurse listened to my concerns. Dr. Rubinstein fitted the second crown to the implant post to complete the two implant job on next door neighbor molars. Very comfortable and i just finished my first meal -fried chicken- with them. I suffered from a failed root canal and numerous fixit attempts by another dentist for years, but these new implants are amazing- like natural teeth. Ken Rubinstein is the Michelangelo of implants and crowns and a very personable guy. I cannot believe how much better he is than my previous dentist! My wife also swears by him and she witnessed much dental work while a dental assistant during college. By the way, I just read the two star review of a patient a few weeks ago where he complained about a billing issue (it happens in every business, mine included, and it was resolved). He also brings up that SEDA wanted to remove a compromised tooth because it didn't have enough structure to secure a crown. I had the same poor structure issue with one of the teeth just done and despite Dr. R's recommendation a year ago to replace the problem crown with an implant I had him reinstall the crown that had been done by a NY dentist. It fell out two months later in NY and was again replaced there, only to fall out again a few months later. This time I listened and finally went with Dr. R's implant. I would have saved a lot of time, pain, aggravation and money had I gone with Dr. R's (and my wife's) initial recommendation! Started well by exam from hygienist Lisa. She then proceeded to use the probe and write all the pockets she found in my gums. After calling in an office worker who dealt with charges and insurance she presented me with a plan costing over $500! This included root planing and scaling in all quadrants. Lisa then explained this was the ONLY plan for me. I explained my previous dentist and hygienist never recommended this for me -even though I did have some bleeding (which had now stopped). I asked her just to do a regular good cleaning and she refused. Only the $500 plan would work for her. I left and re-visited my previous hygienist who told me my gums were in good shape and she would do her regular deep cleaning to keep them healthy. I did NOT need root planing and scaling! I believe that because this office accepts Dental Insurance they were trying to upcharge for unnecessary work only to be able to bill insurance for a lot of money. Do Not Use This Office!! I have terrible dental anxiety, but he is very gentle and understanding and reassured me that getting an implant wouldn't be bad. To my surprise , he was right. I didn't feel a thing. He is very caring and explains everything. He has a great personality and kept me calm throughout the procedure. He even made me laugh. Follow up was excellent. All the girls at the front desk are friendly and helpful on the phone and in he office. I have been to six dental offices since I came to Fla two years ago, becaue I was couldn't find anyone I felt comfortable with. I was going to wait to write a review to see if this would be resolved but MONTHS of silence so, here's the review. I've been going to Seda since around 2016 when we moved from Delray up to Boynton as they are across the street from where we live. Overall my wife and I were pretty happy - the hygienist we went to there is fantastic and the dentists were ok. My first and most frustrating issue with them is that they have been sending me an Invoice - with no detail - since September of 2023 stating we had a balance. This actually goes back to 2022 when they initially reached out, and I asked for back up. Silence until Sept. of 23 when they sent the invoice again with zero detail on it, just the amount. I called and they couldn't explain it to me and someone from billing would reach out. They didn't. They finally emailed me back with a screenshot showing an apparent balance for my wife. The kicker is the service was done in 2021 and they were trying to submit to the insurance we had at that time a YEAR later in 2022. Of course it wasn't going to go through. Why did they wait until 2023 to bring it up is beyond me. And, I went several times (with updated insurance) during that timeframe for a cleaning, a root canal and also to re-cement a crown that fell off a tooth I had a root canal done on years ago. Which leads me to my second issues with them. When I got this crown re-cemented on, the dentist advised that there wasn't much tooth showing so it may still have an issue staying attached (a fair and accurate point). He advised that if it does fall off he recommends taking the old tooth out and putting an implant in -which I thought was a bit extreme but ok. Fast forward to a few weeks ago, that crown fell off. I go to a different dentist now and he said the same, there isn't much tooth left. The fix? cut down some gum to expose more tooth and put a new crown on. I told him what Seda told me and he said that was pretty outrageous. You should only need an implant if the tooth is dying or decayed. What he did was far cheaper and made more sense - I have a great new crown on that tooth. The providers may be great but poor office staff can make or break you. We'll never be going back to Seda - do yourself a favor and find a good small family run practice. You'll be taken care of far better. read more

I have specific training in healthcare Admin, ethics and quality of care. I have managed 100s of health care professionals and physicians. Seda Dental gets an F from me. They're so-called Specialist installed a crown and then proceeded to grind off half of it claiming he was adjusting my bite but he did not even use the double sided ink tape. He was in a rush. I have been back multiple times. Trying to have Seda replace the damaged crown and the. owner Dr. Rubenstein and Dr. K are trying to convince me that there's nothing wrong with half a tooth. Dishonest and unethical? An honorable person would simply apologize and make me a new crown and instead they tried to convince me that they could have the lab add a piece to the crown, but they could not guarantee that the added piece would not fall out. The last thing I want to do is break a tooth or choke on a piece of crown. I hope the Dr. will care about what's best for their patient. I just had an implant cleaning with Michelle today and I have to say she did the best one I've ever had. First: before I got there she and an associate reviewed my last panoramic X-ray. Second: I told her about a recent medical setback snd she was most empathetic Third: she spent more time snd various different methods on my six regular upper and 4 lower Mini's than anyone else ever did. I can't not say enough good things about Dr. Kallithrakas, and all of his assistants! I had the same dentist for 17 years, last 7 of those years he did a number on my teeth, and Dr. Kallithrakas, corrected each one. He is extremely friendly, welcoming, listens to what you are explaining, and always seems to have the solution. He also has an amazing memory, always asks how I am and my family. I'm treated with care, love and his passion for what he does, with a kit glove. I'm treated extremely well, I never feel rushed, or have to wait an extended period of time to be seen. The office is clean, the rooms are clean, the front office employees always greet you with a smile. I usually go to the Boynton location. However, I have also been seen in the Delray office. I have no complaints about this office either. They are a well run machine. Other doctors in the office greet you when they see you. The assistants always make sure you are comfortable and also very friendly.The office Manager Eileen, is always extremely helpful, and courteous. Eileen has helped me quite a bit with insurance and patient responsibility. She always greets me as if I am family. I am glad I looked on Yelp, cause this is how I found Dr Kallithrakas, and I hope my review helps you too make a decision. I thought I had posted my ratings already, must have been health grades. Here it is... My first visit to Dr Rubenstein was prompted by a molar that chipped over the weekend and I was delighted to get a return call within minutes of leaving a message on a Saturday. I spoke with Fernanda, a very pleasant young lady who scheduledme first thing Monday morning. When I entered the office, I was greeted by a very friendly staff who gave me the necessary paperwork and went over what the costs for the work that needed to be done would be and the scheduled me for the procedure that afternoon!! When I arrived ~ 4 hours later, I met Dr. Rubenstein. He has a vibrant personality and he's a very good listener. He made me feel comfortable immediately and gained my confidence when he thoroughly explained the procedure and why he was doing it. He also possesses a great sense of humor which helps when you fear the dentist's chair and have avoided going for regular dental care. Dr. Rubinstein did an amazing job removing my failed implant. I was so relieved to get it out! My left side of the jaw was hurting so bad and I couldn't chew on that side whatsoever. I thought for sure I was going to feel amor of pain when I remove that implant. Saving it was the last thing on my mind! Just wanted to get it out! Dr. Rubinstein took it out in 10 minutes or less, eased my anxiety, eliminated the pain, and solved the problem! No more discomfort! He packed the space with bone graft and sent me home. After being told by two periodontist that I need whole mouth gum surgery and that my insurance would not cover, I was fortunate to be recommended to Dr Rubinstein by another highly regarded dentist. Dr Rubinstein began treating me without surgery 9 months ago. My gums have greatly improved so much so that surgery is probably not in my future. If it is it will only be to a few pockets and not my whole mouth. Not only are my gums doing great and extensive surgery spared; it is all covered by my insurance. Horrible Experience! I read the reviews and simply needed to get my tooth checked for a toothache . Was advised i needed a root canal for a cavity. I scheduled for the following day, provided a deposit for the work. Went in and after 2 hours in my mouth the instrument used broke in my tooth. I was directed to a specialist to complete the work for the following day. The specialist was able to extract the instrument and complete the root canal. I inquired about my deposit and was told it would be process. A week later i called and spoke to Eileen the office manager who basically said i still needed to come back for a crown. Are you kidding me - you think i am coming back. After a 10 minute call she said i would have my refund a week later. A week later no refund. I am now working with my bank to get my money back. They want to keep a deposit for work they have not provided horrible customer service and borderline criminal activity. thankfully my insurance has already denied their claims! Written to SEDA Dental 01/25/2022 For the most part my experience with SEDA has been very good . However, my fiance' (Laurie LaRoche) who is on my insurance plan was treated poorly on her first visit on January 10th by the young doctor who (1) with rudeness dismissed her concerns and would not let her speak, (2) misread her xrays, and (3) told her she had TMJ and a loose tooth and dismissed her to an oral surgeon who was not in our network. She has been in pain for the entire time trying to set up an appointment with an oral surgeon, and doctor to address the TMJ mis-diagnosis. We went to Palm beach Gardens dental spa for a second opinion today at our expense. After viewing the xrays the doctor immediately showed her a large hole (cavity) inside one of her teeth and is addressing the true problem in short order i.e. an additional cat scan, then root-canal, or, implant . At SEDA the office staff was very professional and outstanding, our dental hygienist was exceptional and very knowledgeable and it saddens me to move on to another clinic. The fact remains that Laurie did not need to suffer for weeks since being mis-diagnosed. I don't know what your doctors problem is but, my suggestion would be review this doctor's credentials, and find out why he can't read xrays and make a proper diagnosis. read more

At first I thought they were the best dentists around..then that all changed. Watch what they charge you. They just can't get it right. I was over charged $25.00 for a cleaning and over charged $157.00 for a crown! Trying to get the $157.00 credited back to me was impossible. Since I had my crown done at the Delray office the Boynton office said they would have to call that office because their computers don't "communicate" with each other...what???? (this is 2018!!) I had always dealt with the Boynton office for cleanings ..but due to my availabilty for the crown the Delray office had a Friday open which worked for me. I personally went into the Delray office only to be told they agreed that I overpaid for the crown BUT... the Boynton office was the one that needed to address this and they were closed (it was a Friday and the Boynton office is not open on Fri)...then she said the famous word I heard over and over from many of the Seda reps.."Unfortunately our computer is not able to communicate with that office so I will call them on Monday and let them know..." I NEVER heard anything again from any Seda rep on this overcharge..after several telephone calls and even a 3-way telephone call with Humana and they even told Seda they overcharged me.. I personally went into the Delray office on my day off trying to get an answer to this.. NOPE NOT HAPPENING.! .....I then called my credit card company to fix the problem which they did..they credited my account. Never did hear from Seda.!! I have a new dentist now. Seda seems way too confused when it comes to fees and what to charge, I never had this problem with any other dentist.. They have no problem over charging... But ...just try getting your money back!! Dr. Rubinstein is a phenomenal human and even better Doctor/Dentist/DMD. From start to finish the experience was effortless and painless. The procedure I had gone flawlessly and Dr. Rubinstein provided step-by-step of the action while providing reassurance thus putting me at ease. The best part about the procedure is that there is virtually no pain, neither during the procedure nor after, while in recovery post-op. I have to say that everyone's recovery has to be different and for me I am only experiencing just discomfort but I contribute that to the superb skillset of Dr. Rubinstein. Because of this experience, I have more faith in the dentist and dental work and I highly recommend this practice. I am not one to write a review about a dental office...except...when it comes to SEDA Dental in Boynton Beach! I have never had a pleasant experience in a dental office because of my fears of past experiences. Any visits to other dentists always resulted in more work and more pain. The experience at Seda starts with the reception desk. Caitlyn, Madelon Milanda. They know how terrible I am in this situation yet they take the time to start the calming process by helping me with my insurance. Next stop..the actual process with Dr. Mauricio Antezana! I usually start talking so much just to avoid having any dentistry performed. He is unbelievably calming. My first visit with him was good. The second visit to insert the crown and to fill two front bottom cavities was even better. I could not believe how he took the time to straighten out the discoloration of the two front teeth to match the crown and my partial bridge. The SEDA group makes going to the dentist almost a pleasure. I have had good teeth all of my life, so when I split a tooth in two while dining out, I was extremly worried what would follow,. I went to my regular dentist, who recommended me immediately to the Seda group for an appointment for that afternoon. With a long history of terror and disappointment not mention expense I had my appt which turned out to be with Dr. Hassan, a lovely, caring, talented Dr. with whom I sat down, had an honest, frank and positive discussion and plan to FINALLY stop the insanity. She was not pushy, answered all questions, won't disappear and seems truly vested in my health. Not inexpensive but not obtaining a second mortgage either. Not dragging this out.
